But do you fellaz realize that xbox 2 might be out around this time next year. If so then what. Which way will they go. Most likely the xbox 2's version will be a slight graphical upgrade as the ps2 and xbox will be the focus. But just imagine how it could look if they put some effort into it. If any of you seen the new morrowind shots they you know what it can be capable of.

Live graphics are not a matter of technology right now. They are not at all pushing the hardware, in other words.

True of course, but it seems like technology is not what holds Live's graphics back, probably more like their actual developers lacking the skills.

So while Live on Xbox 2 and PS3 might look great, if current trends are anything to go by, then ESPN's games will look even a step or two better.

i somewat feel wat u sayin....me personally, i doubt Live's graphics will ever look as good as ESPN's for the simple fact that ESPN steps it up every year, while Live stepped it up this year, its moving at a slower pace.....and while I don't like it cuz it seems like it takes away from the important stuff, ESPN seems to focus a lot of their time on graphics

The best cel shading is Jet Set Radio Future on Xbox (my favourite game). The poly models are really quite low but the shading and simply superb animation makes it look awesome. It might be interesting for something like Street but I doubt a big 'sim' type franchise like Live would ever go there. Actually if I remember right Street 2's menu's had a city/buildings in the background that were cel shaded.

Oh and here's a good example of keeping the reflections on someone's hair too, looks glassy or oily

What game is that from? And the nba live graphics already look cel shaded anyway so it really wouldn't be a stretch for them to do completely cel shaded graphics.
