He wasn't allowed to reveal specifics but he said there will be new game modes created, emphasis on player animation (more added and they acknowledged their previous stuff wasn't as sharp). They also mentioned they speak to NBA players (I think that's who he was referring to) about the game and that they connect with the community about gripes had with previous titles That's about what I can recall

My opinion wont be a popular one but my belief is NBA live will delay the release to September 2017 instead of March 2017 because they may want to iron out a few things to catch up to the competition. We all say NBA live is 2yrs behind the competition and I feel NBA live will realize that come March 2017 that their still not on par with the competition and delay the release to September 2017.

I played Live 05-06, 2k7-2k8, Live09-10--->> all 2ks since. Of course, I played every bball game I could get my hands on, but I mean those are the ones I played online competitively.

The thing I miss about Live was controlling your dude. That's the number 1 best part of Live even though it is more 'arcade' or used to be. The only time in Live I ever felt like my dude did something I didn't want to was when I'd drive and try to dunk but end up pulling up for a J cuz it wouldn't trigger the animation.

In 2k, there are so many instances. Times you get the ball in the paint and try to pump and it shoots/try to shoot and you do an up and under fake. Or you try to do a lay up/hook and your dude just keeps doing the fake spin to one side. haha. I'm really not bad at 2k at all, but for some reason that stuff happens to me so much. Maybe it's just hand muscle atrophy, but I think it's 2k... cuz I mean on D it's smooth.

I look forward to control. I'll take some wonky animations and cheese.

Logistically it just doesn't make a lot of sense to drop the game in Spring. Would they then release Live 18 in the same year, with that short of a dev cycle? Or would March be their new annual release time? Doubtful. EA desperately wants to put something out just for UT VC $$, but I'm betting a game isn't released until Fall next year.

My bet is that Live 17 gets a released the same date as the Nintendo Switch launch day. Making it the only basketball game on Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. Sometime in March the Switch is supposed to launch so it would have that "March Madness" hype again.

All star weekend would be the perfect release window for the game. Nba hype is usually high around that time since football is coming to an end.

With that said, live can come back and be dominant again if they do the right thing. 2k fans are ready for a new bball game

I certainly hope so but only if it is a satisfactory product. 2k has left a bad taste in my mouth with the direction they're taking their game. 2k owns the market on basketball video games and I feel that has led them to focus more on how to squeeze money out of the game instead of making a better basketball game.

I would love to see Live take a page out of 2k's playbook and price the game at about $20-30. 2k did this with NFL 2K5 and it worked pretty well until EA bought the NFL license.

Hopefully Live doesn't take TOO long to drop and go over peoples heads...before around the All Star break would be perfect, but later than that would be a bit of a misstep IMO. It's important that this game gets some positive momentum- or I'm afraid they may just concede into the mobile world.

I really just want some options, I enjoyed both games last year......I don't care about all the 'beat 2k', 'angry at 2k' nonsense...doesn't do anything for me.

The door is open, if they walk through it they gotta come with it. Striding with the pride they had before they got a lil arrogant and fell off. Their team is going to have to MAKE the competition KNOW that there is some to force a new element of creativity in the digital world of simulation basketball.

Is it weird that I come here once everyday to see if some live 17 news came out? Hopefully EA bless us with some type of teaser/info about the game before the New Year begins.

I actually hope they wait until October and release Live 18 instead. Anytime they think they are on something, they should just give it more time and release an even better product. Otherwise, they release one, let's say, in February. What's next? Will they release another one in October, or will they start releasing them every year around the same time?
                          My Specs:

                          ZX Spectrum
                          CPU: Z80 @ 3.5 MHz
                          GPU: Monochrome display
                          RAM: 48 KB
                          OS: Sinclair BASIC

My hope is they release soon and let the game speak for itself and gain traction for a year and a half then release in fall 2018. Going head to head with 2k with no goodwill with the consumers who for good reason have no faith in the product right now, is just unwise. Releasing around this time of the year is their best chance to gain some recognition from consumers, titanfall 2 is suffering from being released around the monster call of duty (and also being wedged between battlefield 1's release) and titanfall has critical acclaim.

Releasing soon also lets them as a company tinker with releasing a game that will get updates as opposed to traditional annual release, which is something both consumers and game companies have both sought for some time.

Maybe EA is going back to the marketing strategy they had with the vs. series of basketball games. Lakers vs. Celtics, Bulls vs Lakers and so on. Those games didn't come out until playoff time.
