    1) I noticed the Offensive Awareness ratings were very low even for players like Jason Kidd. Kidd has a OA rating in the high 70's so I upped it to 98. I also upped Chauncey Billups to 89.

    2) I upped Kidd and Billups' passing rating by 5.

    3) When playing against the Nets and the Pistons, I changed my defensive pressure to Med against every player on their team who is a jump shooter or guard. This fools the CPU into thinking he has open outside shots with wing players.

In 3 games against the Nets and Pistons, Kidd had games of 9 and 10 assists and Billups had a game of 6 assists. I am playing 10 min quarters using a mix of Jstics and Pared sliders on All Star.

I'm gonna keep experimenting and maybe u guys can try it and see if this work for u.
This would be great if it works. Are you seeing CPU players 'catch and shoot' etc?

Here is a good test, run your ratings with the playbooks (the one in my sig) and if the CPU still gets 18-25 assists a game then we have a winner ladies and gentlemen.

I have addressed the off awr in my edits. I play 7-8 min quarters and the cpu point guard gets like 6-8 a game. Imagine if you bumped it up to 12 minutes.

Try my rosters out ans see what you think.

Re: Possible Solution to the Assist Problem

Maybe we should look at the scoring area of the players. Almost every SG has area 6. Some have area 2. I believe that 2 is more of a pure shooter. I mentioned the problem in another thread. The CPU players have no patience. If they are getting the ball they put the ball on the floor too much and too fast. The good players look to score - they don't look at the teammates. Played against Toronto earlier today. Vince Carter and Jalen Rose never pass the ball - no matter if you are using team playsets. Catch and shoot is there in my games. But most of the time the "stars" (PG,SG,SF) are driving when getting the ball and pulling off a shot.

There are several dbf-files we could look into. Maybe scoring area in players dbf (cause lowering primacy to 0 had no effect). Maybe teams.dbf There are some playsets for the teams.

The cpu teams has to pass the ball more. That is the key for getting more assists. More patience by the go-to-guys. As it is now there are little assists because there is not much of team play, more of getting the ball to the go-to-guy and he does his one-on-one.

Sort of. With me playing MED pressure against the guards, many times they will take one dribble and shoot. The only time the CPU catches and shoots is if they have a wide open shoot. I think this is as close to "catching and shooting" as well get.

Right now I have just done it for the starting point guards of the 3 teams I've played against. I want to see what kind of effect it has on sim results before I change every starter. I'm unsure whether I should change the Offensive awareness for every point guard or just the starters.

Remember though the two changes are raising the point guards OA rating to at least 90 and raising their passing rating by 5.

I tried it for two games...

Nets on Dynamic = J Kidd got 6 assists.

Nets on motion = J Kidd got 2 assists.
