I think what they are trying to do is balance online play. In the street mode everyone was just driving to the basket to score. The outside jumper release were laggy before the update. So they made it more user friendly to shoot from outside while open. I was just caught off guard that my shots wouldn't miss offline. If anything I can adjust the slider if it is too automatic for offline play.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Is it just me or are fade away jumpers a little hard to pull off? It's like the timing window of pulling the left stick away from the basket is very small when pressing shoot.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I won my 1st game on superstar. The improved shooting allows you to compete within the flow of game on that level now. Had a 3point lead with a about 5 seconds to go. I was celebrating only to see the cpu kevin love knock down the tieing 3 on the inbound. Called timeout to advance. Got durant cutting for a nice mid range shot to win the game at the buzzer.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Can someone explain this improved shooting to us Xbox users who don't have it yet? Is it just the same thing but faster? Anything else?

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
The only way I can explain it is if your open the success rate is up. Went 100 % with kyrie 5 for 5, and jr smith went 4 for 4 from 3, Shrumpert was 3 for 4 on allstar difficulty. I don't use the meter but there seems be a friendly release window.
On superstar it felt a little more balanced as the cpu plays better defense and can steal passes.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Man. I don't know what this last patch did, but this game feels a lot better than it did at launch of the demo. Seeing some really good things. My friend came over and said he's buying it at launch and he has never liked Live even back in the day!Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Held kyrie to a 8 second violation, 1st time of done that. I saw the cpu lebron get frustrated. He kept trying to drive by me but I was guessing the right path angles. So he backed up beyond the 3 point line dribbling in place like I will show you bastard and drained a deep 3... it seems personal at times lolComment

Next thing id like to see improved is some of these seemingly automatic layups miss
Too many of these drop if not blocked or draw a contest animation...Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
About blocks and there being to many of them my last game with blocks set to 10 I had 10 blocks between my and the CPU. Considering the demo is only 20 minutes at that pace in a full 48 minute game I would have 24. I don't know what the NBA average was last year but I know it sure was not 24 between 2 teams in a average game and its not just one game kind of thing been getting to many like ever game. Going to try blocks at 0 next time I play.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Played against my friend all night and this game is so dope. Things are wonky and some things need fixed, but I'm having a blast with this game for sure. I recommend playing someone other than just the CPU when you get a chance, so much fun.
Also, seems like I'm seeing a lot more player movement now or at least I did tonight. Shooting feels more fluid, shots aren't automatic right by the basket it seems. I just need the reaction to a hand up on defense to be fixed. I'm having to press the block button to contest every shot and getting called for fouls.Last edited by d23x; 08-19-2017, 04:12 AM.Comment
