The more I play, the more arcady the gameplay starts to feel. I dont notice it much in the street games but NBA 5v5 gameplay is pretty arcady feeling

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I've been having lots of fun playing Cavs vs Warriors, but blocks are way too frequent especially on Superstar. CPU,'s Durant blocks like Wilt and Hakeem combined. In one game he had 12 blocks against Lebron. He was blocking dunk attempts, lay ups, euro steps, everything. Also, when I press the shot button while driving towards the right side of the basket and closely guarded, the last move that I wanna do is a left hand finger roll.Lebron finished with 3/18 with all missed attempts being from blocks and I lost in overtime. I understand that it's Superstar difficulty, but shouldn't Lebron be successful even a few times at what he does best, which is attacking the basket?Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I might have already said this. There needs to be more variance in layup packages.
I just performed that reverse layup animation with Kevin love. Thats the kind of thing that detracts from reality.
I'm assuming either everyone has access the same layup animations or it's ratings based. If the latter, this either needs to be tightened up so less athletic guys aren't doing things that are unnatural, or there needs to be another rating that determines these things.
Still loving the game. Can't wait for the retail.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Main issue that hasn't been fixed yet, is the way the ball floats when you shoot a jumper. It flies really slow, and then you hear a strong SWISH when it goes it. Doesn't make sense at all. I think this issue has been there in 15, 16 and now 18.
Surprisingly, only Live 14 got it right. When you shot J's in 14, the way the ball flew to the rim was just right. Also, Live 14 was the only recent Live where players didn't float/glide in the air while going up for a jumper/leaner. In 15-18 it looks like the game is being played on the moon.
3 titles and still the same issue. I guess we're stuck with it.My Specs:

The Love block party stuff doesn't bother me, because it's showing it's skill based, an NBA player can block someone if they are forcing weak stuff on them even if it's K Love. But it's not like he is in the same ballpark as LeBron blocking in the game so it's a pretty good balance.
Agree on the layups tho, just strip guys like Love those layups or add more packages for bigs.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I'm a little disappointed. I tried to play with a friend and I got three "deconnexion from other player" in a row who made me crash the game I was in. I came each time on the mnu.
Two times, he got it with me. Not the las timeComment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I am hoping that we get franchise news really soon and that it is good. The demo plays a nice sold game of basketball and I am sure the final game will play better and I am already getting nice result with out even making like a ton of slider adjustments like I have to make in most sports games. I am playing on all star and winning more then I am losing and on nba 2k I have always felt that on just all star the CPU is to good but on pro not good enough. On 2k I have always felt like 2k is to hard when it comes to the controls. I have like never been able to really remember controls on 2k and do different types of dribbles and I fell like there is way to much bumping on the perimeter that can make it hard to take a guy off the dribble even when the guy with the ball has a defender on him that shouldn't be able to stay with him. In this game I think the controls are much easier to remember and one on one getting to the basket/creating space when some one is on you that shouldn't be able to stay with you is much better in this game. The graphics are also pretty good don't know if I can say they are at 2k level but still really good. Being that the controls are much easier then 2k and being that I could get this game for like 32 with the best buy gamers club thing and that I am already getting pretty good result on all star with out a lot of slider adjustments + the fact the crowd in this game is really good if franchise mode is solid then I can see my self getting this game and having more fun then 2k. I also love how the CPU star/superstar players play. James is very aggressive with driving to the basket and is hard to stop and will get other players the ball with a chance to score. If you are playing GS if you give even like a inch of space to Curry he will shoot the ball even if it is a long 3 like in real life. He is hard to stay with because of his dribbles and going off screens and at the same time if you get close to him he can drive by you and score or make a pass to a teammate.
The game is not perfect of course but I think it is a big improvement and that the game and franchise going forward has a lot of potential. Animations are not bad but could be better and there are way to many shoot blocks and crazy layups being made but I think those can be fixed/improved by sliders/patches. Clock management is not good CPU takes a lot of deep shoots with like 10 seconds or so on shoot clock and will shoot the ball from deep with like 6 seconds or so left in a quarter from deep instead of trying to at least get a little closer. I have also seen in close games at the end the CPU take a shoot when they should have either wanted to get fouled or taken a little more time off the clock before shooting. It is my biggest fear with the game as stuff like CPU AI can be a hard thing to fix. I mean look at madden 15-18 CPU QB will like never try to run the ball ever.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
More success if passing while players are in stride. If player is already in position (under basket/3pt line) pass is already to late.
