The player appearance is... forgivable? I just compared Kawhi and LeBron and James Harden.

The demo plays a nice sold game of basketball and I am sure the final game will play better and I am already getting nice result with out even making like a ton of slider adjustments like I have to make in most sports games. I am playing on all star and winning more then I am losing and on nba 2k I have always felt that on just all star the CPU is to good but on pro not good enough. On 2k I have always felt like 2k is to hard when it comes to the controls. I have like never been able to really remember controls on 2k and do different types of dribbles and I fell like there is way to much bumping on the perimeter that can make it hard to take a guy off the dribble even when the guy with the ball has a defender on him that shouldn't be able to stay with him. In this game I think the controls are much easier to remember and one on one getting to the basket/creating space when some one is on you that shouldn't be able to stay with you is much better in this game. The graphics are also pretty good don't know if I can say they are at 2k level but still really good. Being that the controls are much easier then 2k and being that I could get this game for like 32 with the best buy gamers club thing and that I am already getting pretty good result on all star with out a lot of slider adjustments + the fact the crowd in this game is really good if franchise mode is solid then I can see my self getting this game and having more fun then 2k. I also love how the CPU star/superstar players play. James is very aggressive with driving to the basket and is hard to stop and will get other players the ball with a chance to score. If you are playing GS if you give even like a inch of space to Curry he will shoot the ball even if it is a long 3 like in real life. He is hard to stay with because of his dribbles and going off screens and at the same time if you get close to him he can drive by you and score or make a pass to a teammate.

The game is not perfect of course but I think it is a big improvement and that the game and franchise going forward has a lot of potential. Animations are not bad but could be better and there are way to many shoot blocks and crazy layups being made but I think those can be fixed/improved by sliders/patches. Clock management is not good CPU takes a lot of deep shoots with like 10 seconds or so on shoot clock and will shoot the ball from deep with like 6 seconds or so left in a quarter from deep instead of trying to at least get a little closer. I have also seen in close games at the end the CPU take a shoot when they should have either wanted to get fouled or taken a little more time off the clock before shooting. It is my biggest fear with the game as stuff like CPU AI can be a hard thing to fix. I mean look at madden 15-18 CPU QB will like never try to run the ball ever.
Good post! I keep hearing that Live 18's graphics and player models may not be up to par with the other games, and I'm scratching my head (granted some Live models are off but they can be fixed via patch) because I own 2k 17 and can't even fathom a universe where that looks better. Someone elucidate or enlighten me!

Why lock live run at level 20?

Ok, lock my levelling up, no problem.

But now I can't play the mode anymore?

While even if the graphics and player models are not better or at 2k level I think they are close. The game looks better then Madden 17, Mlb 16, Nhl 16 those are the last sports games I had didn't get mlb 17 or nhl 17 and not getting madden 18. Animations may be another story but just graphics and player model wise I am talking about.

EA is usually pretty good when it comes to player model proportions. Leg limb lengths, arms limb length, player's height with respect to other players. The major issue causing that "uncanny valley" effect simply comes down to their animations. The slow bounce to get the ball past half court is one of their better looking animations. A dirty way of looking at the issue that affects a lot of their animations is that everything has a "tense muscle" look to them.

For one thing, just the simple act of walking with Live isn't representative of how a human would walk. Example, if you look at the link below, you should be able to see a difference. You may not be able to pinpoint exactly what the problem is, but it's definitely there.

                    Fixes
                    NBA2k Defense AI,Footplant, Gameplay
                    MLB Show Pitching/throwing
                    Madden/Live Animations Walking, Throwing

How many players can we create? Or just one per reset at a time?

1 / reset in the demo but allegedly in the game you can have up to 5

Yes I am one who thinks the graphics skin textures faces and models are great. Definitely in the top tier and to my eye better than 2K 17/18 but after having played Madden 18 on the frostbite engine I have to say it's going to be amazing when live moves to it.

there will be no contest the models in Madden are beautiful as is the lighting everything just looks so much more natural .

But yes live really a beautiful looking game people just are used to a certain look. And there's no denying that many player faces in 2K 17/18 structurally are better but the textures and skin on live is superior.

No need if you're sure of your player. I'm taste testing.

I just wish we can skip those cut scenes we already watched.
