Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
EDIT: Also, let me clarify I definitely want the CPU to be very difficult on superstar level default slider. That means give the cpu an added boost to their wide open outside shots. But maintain a legitimate "percentage" effectiveness when the cpu shots are contested. Meaning if I the user work to defend, give me at least some advantage for playing good defense. When it comes to the CPU interior contested shot success, it just seems that's the only major "shot success" problem I really have.
My main gripe is just the interior shot success even though I’ve had games where the cpu can’t make a shot inside. Theirs’ also the fact that it’s normally Kyrie finishing on me inside which is realistic.

I drop everything down to 40 and the teams have ranges of 35-42%
Bad numbers.
Leave it at 50 and it ranges from 45-55%
But maybe it's because the games are shorter, players are more fresh, and it's the freaking Warriors and Cavs. Two teams with great shooters and finishers.

That's the thing that leaves me hesitant to stick with slider adjustments.

Yea I tend to curb my thoughts until I’m playing the full release against another user. With the main scorers on both teams having contested shot and driving layup ratings around 90 it’s difficult to really tell if it’s truly OP.
I like the fact that the stars on the squad feel like stars. It’s way more infuriating when u force the stars to pass, and guys like Pachulia and TT are hitting skyhooks from 15 feet.

Definitely waiting to see what the H2H experience will be like. With so many designed automatic shots near the basket I can see it being a problem...

That is exciting to hear. I just hope they stay focused on the action in front of them and don't have a bunch of random back stories just to fill the gaps. The best commentary to me is when they react well to things on the floor, and only go off on tangents when it's organic.
Madden this year and last does the best job of this of any sports game I've played.Last edited by El_Poopador; 08-28-2017, 04:02 PM.Comment

This is why the demo should have included more than just the Warriors and Cavaliers, two fairly skilled offensive teams and strong 3 point shooters.
Would have liked to have 6 teams: Warriors, Cavaliers, then 2 mediocre teams and 2 terrible rated teams .... just to get a feel for the differences in shot percentage successes and other gameplay areas.
Right now, we have absolutely no clue if the user shot success is due to both of these offensive inclined teams rather than simply just the skill of the user.Comment

Over these past couple of years...whats typically been the problem is that regardless of team or player, theres a package of automatic hooks/push shots at the rim that can be used by anyone....these always tend to drive interior %'s up. As some have said, its as if they are not even coded with the possibility to miss...
Doesnt look like that has changed seeing what Zaza and TT can do in the demo.Comment

Im sure well see shooting %'s fluctuate depending on the team..

Clarification needed ... As far as my comment about user skill or cpu shot success, I was more concerned about the outside shot success from the midrange and three. I'm going 70% and above when being guarded, wide open, yellow meter, 1 or 2 centimeter away on the meter from perfect release. Does this have anything to do with me playing with the Warriors, Curry, Klay and Thompson vs oridinary three point shooters for other teams.Comment

He was literally a -33 in +/- my last game. Missing interior shots, etc. Literally got a rebound directly under the rim. Pump faked awkwardly 4-5 times, then went up and got stuffed by the rimTwitter - WTF_OS

Are you still seeing Zaza not be true to his Zaza self? He's worthless in my game currently. You X1 or PS4? Wonder if that was part of the last PS4 patch.
