Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I'm not an online guy, too (looking at you, too-kay) but I tried this online and it looks ok.
Though I play with the usual ball [emoji459] hogs but online game is fine.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
What is the difference between L1 and L2 on defence?
I think the shot percentages have too much of a gap between contested and open. I had read a report that on shots away from the basket there is roughly a 10% difference in shot percentage between contested and open. It feels like it's a lot bigger in Live. I had the same issue with 16 so I adjusted the slider accordingly- actually had it at 100 because in 16 that slider was backwards. WTF, do you know if they fixed that slider? Haven't tested it in the demo.Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I'm not 100% on that slider rudy, I'll check into it and see if I can find an answer.
The difference between L1 and L2 is, L1 will make whoever you're controlling follow the ball. It's kind of like a "ball hawk" button. So if you're Lebron, guarding KD w/ the ball, and he passes to Steph, you'll follow the ball and transition to Steph (even if Kyrie is still there guarding him). L2 will get you into defensive Stance and allow you to "D up" your guy, and get into his space.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
I might look for a group here on OS and run with some guys. We should probably create that group if guys are interested. But I also don't think I'll be playing online much anyway.
Unless franchise mode really is very bad and 2K on my switch keeps me busy with solo play. Then who knows if I just focus on Runs and The One.

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
Yeah....I am really enjoying the simplicity of this game. I am strictly going to play “The One” on Live. Franchise mode.....silence. We are 2 weeks away from release. That speaks loudly to me that it may be pretty bare bones.
I am getting 2K18 for my classic team/modern day franchise fix. Let’s be real....2K is on a totally different level.
But Live 18 is a heck of a game IMO. It has a fun factor that I will love playing my character in “The One”.Now Playing on PS5:

I gave it a try. But it's like you said. Ball hogs all over the court.

Not as many ball hogs as before with the layups being tuned down.

It's a good idea. It's not always everyday we can find random guys who knows set plays and effective defense.
I steered away from 2K parks and just played offline career and the reliable MyGM.
But with LIVE18, I'm enjoying the online aspect. It's an overall fun game. It's not perfect. But replay value is tops!Comment

Re: NBA Live 18 - Demo Impressions
The art department trying to keep tab on hair style, facial hair and how it may or may not changed depending on what the player does or how the player decides to wear it could become exhausting. I know others want it to be either an exact replica or a very close replication, but his is why I don't really put much stock on the art department updating player's hair style IF they already had it correct the first go around.
Someone could shave one week, then let their beard grow for 2 weeks and then keep it shave for 3 weeks then back to the beard. And next time with a goatee, etc.
My priority would be to simply get the facial features, head shape and neck attachment correct. This is just me. But I do know that it can bother others though.Comment
