Seconded. Getting a little worried here that EA is burying any expectations with franchise mode with a long silence. 2K is drumming them in every way right now and all Live has is a demo out that's weeks old.

I'm not expecting anything fancy but there are a few items that will be key:

1) salary cap adjustments (new upcoming CBA)
2) importance of free agency (does not need to be in depth in the same manner as 2k is taking it this year, but having AI controlled players changing teams for either money or contending purposes is important). It may be as simple as highlighting stages of careers for AI players and identifying importances of money, role and/or team winning.
3) storylines for rookies in the same way Madden has incorporated this
4) Semi-smart trade logic (importance of expiring deals, cap flexibility, team roles of rebuilding or contending, value of draft picks)


Hopefully they can take the above 4 as a foundation and build on it next year. Moving forward, it would be nice to be able to put a "stamp" on your franchise as a GM by identifying the franchise philosophy and developing a team style.

I was about to start a new thread on this very topic but saw this one. So does anyone here have any experience with the LIVE 16 franchise mode? What did you think of it (likes and dislikes).....was the mode even playable?

My expectations are low, but I am hoping that the franchise mode in NBA Live 18 will still be enjoyable even without all the extra bells and whistles that 2k has. I don't expect it to be nearly as robust and complex as myGM/ myLeague, but I want it to be a little more than just playing 82 'play now' games with standings.
Was there any ESPN integration within NBA Live 16 franchise mode? I hope that they can at least build on that if so.

Hoping to hear more NBA Live18 news soon because I really enjoyed the demo!

Though I know its a longshot to make it into Live 18, I really do care about and need a CFM. I mean I NEVER play franchise mode offline and have been a league guy for most of my adult years. This would add a whole different level of depth to the franchise mode for me, and in my opinion, would help the Live franchise solidify their spot in their return to glory.

It was definitely bare bones but it was playable for sure. Playing games was the fore front though. Year 2 got a little dicey with some pretty shoddy trade and free agent logic but it wasn't a disaster Andy i enjoyed it.

Thanks for the reply! Do you know if you were able to view past champions, MVPs, etc? Or is year 2 and beyond simply just a reset of year 1?

I don't remember. The biggest thing I could say is if you are into simmimg games and really want to run a team from the head office, you'd be disappointed. I wanted to take the raptors, play games, make some trades and try and win a championship and i had fun doing that.

Has there been any details on injuries being in games that are played and not just simmed ones? That's been my biggest gripe on the Live series since being brought back. I play Franchise Mode a lot and I play the games myself, yet no injuries occurred when you do that.

Anyone who owned Live 16, was there the ability to have a fantasy draft. I'm a simple man, I just want to draft a team and play a season.

I'm switching it up this year from 2k and purchasing Live. I usually run two franchises, one with real teams and one drafted.

I just want simple things:

- injuries in played games
- ability to have different # of games per season in Franchise
- have the announcers say the last names of new auto generated rookies.
