Nice . I'm down for some 5 v 5. Not going to lie after resetting twice and maxing out , I haven't touched the game much. Can't wait to get back tho

Wow sweet. That list will alleviate a lot of people's concerns.


While I agree there were too many blocks I hope they are careful with that one. Its pretty easy to beat your man and I'd hate for this to turn into an arcade dunk fest.

That was my thought exactly, but I do like the way he seemed to carefully word that tweak ("based on matchups", "Slight" reduction overall).

EDIT: I just read about the patch notes up top a few post back. I guess they didn't adjust the screen. I thought patch #3 was suppose to address it. I guess I'll wait for patch #4 hopefully for a fix/adjustment to the screen button.




Patch #3: Player specific screen button unfortunately still doesn't work
The first thing I did was to test out was to see if player specific screen works, and unfortunately it still doesn't work.

The thing I want to be able to do is have the ball handler remain still in the same spot and call for a screen from the guy in the far corner Kevin Durant (Green box) while completely bypassing Draymond Green (Blue box). Secondly, to call for a screen from Klay Thompson (red box) without moving Steph Curry (ball handler) towards Klay Thompson.

The only way I can explain this is to use 2k as an example. Video first, then screenshot

NBA2k: Selecting furthest player away to set a screen. Tap L1 to activate the player icons. Hold icon of desired player and he will come set a screen. First play Klay Thompson comes set a screen. Second play Durant comes set a screen. I didn't have to move Curry (ball handler) towards Klay or Durant. Main thing is that Klay and Durant are furthest away from the ball handler. This is total control when it comes to setting up the screen from any specific player.

The above shows exactly what I'm looking to do. I bring up player icon using the L1 button (screen/play calling button).

When the icon appears above the players head, hold down the corresponding icon will have that specific player come set a screen. That player can be anywhere on the floor. But more importantly that player can be standing furthest away in the corner.

Secondly, I also would like to not have to move my ball handler in the direction of the player, I would like to have the ball handler remain stationary in one spot while I execute the player specific screen.


Ultimately, the reasoning for asking is to have the ability to do stuff like this:

So far, with a super small sample size I've noticed playing as the Warriors that I'm missing more shots especially at the rim. Zaza bricking close in shots. Steph missed a couple of lay ups.

The cpu on the other hand is not missing in the same fashion. Maybe just the game and a half I've played and the fact that I haven't played in a couple weeks but they're hitting a very high percentage. I had been holding the cpu in the 40's percent wise. Now they're in the 60's.

Saw some pretty athletic drives and finishes from TT and Love so I'm not sure they tweaked the bigs' athleticism/skill too much... Although as stated before Zaza did not seem nearly as athletic or skilled.

Blocks still happen a little more than they should but not the block fest it once was.

Jump shot celebrations still happen too often imo....

Better loose ball logic for sure.

Shot stick close out still not very responsive unless I'm just not timing it right. Too often no contest at all...

Could be my imagination but it looks like some new animations may have been added.. Saw some lay ups and deflections I don't recall seeing before.

At first I thought cpu shooting got better (too good) after giving up 60% shooting to the Cavs in first 2 games. Locked in on defense in my 3rd game and held them to 34%. Shot stick contest is still hit or miss. Needs to be improved.

Right stick contest needs to be responsive always. Currently as it stands, there's no rhyme or reason for when my character puts his hands up regardless of when I push the right stick up. Often times it just doesn't work.

It's the chicken or the egg analogy or the cat and mouse chase.

Right stick shot contest goes hand in hand with contesting the cpu's outside shots. You can tune the cpu outside shot all you want, but we really don't know how the right stick contest will affect the cpu's shot success if the right stick contest simply isn't always responsive.

CPU shot success can be adjust for an entire month and if the entire right stick shot contest doesn't work when I'm holding the right stick up, then you guys are simply chasing after something (cpu outside shooting success) that might have been fine the first go around.

Bottom line: The right stick contest must absolutely be responsive before you guys do anymore user or cpu shot success if the cpu also uses the right shot contest mechanism.

I really don’t have an issue with the right stick contest when I preemptively hold the right stick up before they go into their shot animation. It pretty much always works.

If your trying to use it to react to the jumpshot animation I can understand where your coming from.
