    Re: Roster Updates

Since a lot are new to the forum, I'm going to put this out there just once as a warning- we need to avoid calling the developers out with names like 'lazy'...

I get many are frustrated but there are better ways to express that.

I personally don't see any member here on the forums saying EA Sports is being "lazy" name calling. That's just people telling it like it is. Now, if they call someone literally "crazy" then you have a point because that's calling someone a name that a person has no clue about the people behind the problem. That's how I see it.

It's certainly not name calling. What else can a member say about the delayed updates? You expect all of us to be nice about it? But, using the word "lazy" I disagree on that part. It's a long ways from calling people names or attacking personally. Thanks.

I’m seconding this. There may be some office politics playing behind the scenes that we are not privy to. Keep in mind, these guys work for EA after all, a massive corporation that probably doesn’t allow devs the freedom to reach out to fans without passing their responses on for approval.

At this point there is no way for us to know what the future holds, I think NBA Live has a future, but I’m not a president of a company, expecting a return on investment.

Please stop calling devs out on their personal twitter accounts, these dudes want the title they’ve worked hard on to succeeed, and are allowed to have lives outside of work.

Noted. I will never personally say they are "lazy". We have no idea what they are doing... so yes, that's being judgmental. But, wherever the blame lies for lack of response to customer complaints, those are the folk that need to be called out. Who would that be?

Whatever people are saying about them on their Twitter account is different than what I'm talking about going on here. I agree that getting on Twitter & just blasting away calling EA Sports names & such isn't acceptable but to say the word "lazy" to me doesn't fit the category of name calling or personally attacking the company myself.

They're the ones that advertised roster updates & not us or anybody else. So, they have to be able to take some heat from customers but it just can't go too far. That's it.

Sorry to keep the heat up... but, yes, the way to express something WAS not to buy the product. That's passed. If I'd known (and these forum posts would have been a great indicator) that there was not going to be basic customer support, then I would have passed on spending $45+. Thank goodness I'm not stuck with a digital download.

Last word, then I'm going to tear myself away from this thread and just hope the EA Sports NBA Live team answers the fan base on Twitter or Facebook...

What irks me is that EA posted images of Melo and Wade on their Twitter feed in jerseys of their new team. How on earth can you tease the fan base with that type of post and NO other comment about when a roster update would be released. (dropped the mic, see ya hopefully on NBA Live 18. We'll see.)

Thanks for your response 24th! You got me to thinking... if the NBA Live team really does read this stuff... hear ME then...

I think you did an amazing job rebuilding this game. I ACCEPT the wonky passing, and the repetitive dialogue. I'm ok with that. I think the gameplay made a huge step forward. I actually am "pulled" into each game I play. Love it.

So, here's what you should do... accept the product you produced. Be proud of it. Ignore the beef over things you can't do anything about in this version and plan for doing it in NBA Live 19 (hopefully there's going to be one).

I would forgive EVERYTHING if I just got one response from your team that the ROSTERS will be updated. I don't need ROSTER EDIT features.

Lastly, just get people excited while it's early because you may lose the following you have. I was able to spend the cash on NBA 2K 18 and Live, but a lot of the fan base invested the only cash they had into Live. And if it's a digital download, they're stuck with Live (I assume). OK, there you have it.

OS, I'll keep reading daily, but I'll log in in a few more years when something else bugs me enough.

                          Re: Roster Updates

I will continue on then & say this. Just from what's happened with no roster updates & no roster editing available in the game for us to even do anything about it EA Sports has already now placed themselves at mercy for there not being an NBA Live '19. Remember all those years without an NBA Live on consoles?

Well, this problem could very well put the game away again & this time possibly for good. It really would be a shame because they made such great improvements to this game with NBA Live 18 but if we can't edit anything nor receive critical roster updates what's the sense in buying the game? Notta for me!

Bold above. So, in the year 2018 with today's technology you don't need to be able to do roster editing on your own? This is 2018 & not 1998. Roster editing should be in every sports game made in 2018. I get what you're saying & just want accurate roster updates but that's even not enough for me. If I can't edit things about a player on a team's roster then I ain't interested.

Rosters are & have always been the main thing about any sport game for me. Some might say gameplay which I don't have a problem with people saying such either but myself in the year 2018 we should be able to edit rosters period. Even if it's on a limited basis. But NO ROSTER EDITING at all? Really? How in the world did they come up with that idea for a sports basketball game in the year 2018?
