Well I’m doing my part. I preordered the disk version from Best Buy then traded that copy today to GameStop so I could go digital with the $15 Xbox Live deal.

I doubt they give up on Live.
EA seems hellbent on making this work despite terrible sales and mediocre Metacritic ratings.

What they should be doing is rebooting the MVP series.
They would have sold 60K on release day alone.

But the NBA has a much larger market share and EA seems convinced if they throw enough money at Live they'll eventually win the market.
It's just too bad EA hasn't figured out that 2K is a really good game while their studios are incapable of making a good sports game with good AI.

exactly....just reboot the mvp series and the xbox one version alone would sell pretty well even if it can't compete with the show on ps4.

So much hate here.
I am glad I held off, and now it's 15 dollars on Xbox Live! Hope this helps getting traction because I really enjoyed the demo, but unfortunately I just can't shell $60 anymore with so little time I have for gaming.

$15 sounds about right considering it's feature set compared to 2k's. the myplayer mode could be better without all the vc compared to 2k too.

EA needs to make more Fight Night games, seriously. How many amazing fighters are boxing now? Joshua, Wilder, etc. Then put the legends on there. We desperately need a boxing game. I am happy they aren't giving up on NBA Live but do the same for Fight Night lol. Blow money on that.

The MVP series was fun but can they really compete with the Show? The Show is my favorite sports game and I can't imagine this being a good thing. They need to stick with what they know. The UFC games are great. They need to make a Fight Night.

lol VG charts.

VG charts isn't a good indicator. Doesn't include digital sales and not to mention it's just a guesstimate. Look into NPD, who actually pulls the numbers from retailers if you want the actual sales figure for North America physical sale.

Live 18 debut under 80k while 2K sold over a million in September on npd. 2K18 also had the biggest launch since 2k14 which had PS3 & 360 sales addded

MVP 2004 sold over 1.5M copies on the PS2 alone.
The Show sells about 500k a year.

Regardless, MVP would sell 1M copies on the XB1 without breaking a sweat.

Maybe they should consider making an MLB game simply to cover Live's losses.

I'm convinced that EA is protesting MLB after they sold exclusive rights to 2K.
And who knows? Maybe MLB's asking price is unrealistic too? Who knows.
It's a shame there isn't an option for those on the XB1. With so many consoles on the market, you'd think MLB would be doing everything in their power to makes sure they were represented well.
Heck, Manfred is hellbent on increasing the pace of play for the younger generation, yet ignores an incredibly popular gaming console in North America.

Yes it's sad I remember all the different options we used to have in sports games if you didn't like one game you could try another now were forced to play the one game that's released or play nothing that's why I also buy NBA live and hope they can continue to improve.

Both 2k and EA gave up on making a MLB games because they just could not match the level that the Show was producing.
