NBA Live 18 Patch 1.08 Available Now, Features Roster Editing

What happened to the Cavs black statement jerseys? There’s no yellow outline on the numbers of the jersey anymore it looks ridiculous i don’t get how that could’ve happened

Why cant we remove both knee sleeves from players as we are editing them?

I noticed the same right away! Hope it's addressed soon! Does make you wonder how that was impacted.

I was seeing the driving down the lane all the time when I made the shooting sliders lower. Once I got tired of adjusting sliders and went to default sliders, the AI plays great basketball. Players like Westbrook, Harden, James etc. that drives in real life are the only one on the team that will drive to the basket while being guarded.

I was playing against the Bucks and had Greek Freak was the point while their 3 point shooters just chilled outside. When I helped out on Monroe or Greek, they passed it out for the open 3. They did that all game.

Also, they go to the post, pass out of double teams, pick and roll, take the open shot if you sag off etc.

I wonder that the sliders is making the CPU play a totally different type of game. For example, if you upped the foul sliders, then the CPU know they can drive to the basket more because more fouls will be called.
This is correct in regards to the impact of the sliders and is the same as it was in Live 16. I also found that returning to default sliders (Superstar settings in this case but certain it applies to other modes) yields the best results, unless perhaps, the slider adjustments are made carefully, with precision and balance. Let's just say that is not easy to achieve. Basically, I've determined that the devs have optimized or fine tuned the game for only default sliders. I implore anyone that has adjusted sliders to revert to default sliders and test the game again! Really like what I am seeing especially after this latest patch in terms of balanced play from the cpu, particularly offensively and defensively....to an extent. You couple that with the user truly playing more effective defense and not allowing the cpu to exploit space, and you can have some really good outcomes here!

I’m gonna try it. They’ve fixed enough of my pet peeves that I really need to give this a try before I totally give up.

Again, I give EA a huge amount of props for them implementing s huge community request. Live is taking huge steps towards becoming a complete experience.

I just wish I could get into the 5 on 5 gameplay. I have been really digging into the game these past couple days. It just feels as if every thing is so 'boxed in'...I don't feel there us nearly enough movement from my offensive teamates or the CPU in general. The stickiness on the perimeter limits the amount of space to operate in...which is what the NBA game is all about. I find myself getting frustrated with the general sluggishness of the game when I play.

I dont remember the initial game feeling quite like this...

It didn't feel like that. I agree with that. It does feel sluggish. I think it has something to do with the physical sliders, I don't remember what they are off hand, but it's the one that allows you to blowby on the perimeter vs bump.

I've gotta ask if you've modified any of the sliders like game speed, or other gameplay sliders? What level of difficulty? How about the camera type? Also, I will say this much. Prior to optimizing my original TV (Plasma) and PS4 settings, my game also felt sluggish. Unfortunately, the graphic or image quality suffered as a result due to the/my stripping down of image enhancing resource intensive features to promote smoother play. I eventually broke down and purchased a PS4 Pro and 4k HDR TV and the difference in fluidity and responsiveness is quite evident and IMO pretty much on par, in this regard, with the other game since I own both and can compare/contrast. However, even with the new setup I still have to ensure that my TV and PS4 Pro settings are optimal to achieve this goal. For example, I am utilizing 2160p-YUV420 as opposed to 2160p- RGB (PS4 Pro Video output settings) in order to realize better and more consistent frame rates. When I hear the wide disparity between users (some play the game at 70 while others as high as 85 speed and some complain about sluggishness while others report smooth or fluid gameplay) about where they prefer to place their respective game speeds, I can't help but think that one or a combination of the above is at play. Meaning modifications to gameplay sliders, TV/console performance settings as well as the model/capabilities off the devices in use.

That said, similar to Live 16, they have continued to tweak the game to improve defense, etc. I also observed back then that the final product was no longer as free flowing as the demo or initial full game, not to say it was a bad thing since we all clamored for tighter perimeter and post defense for the CPU. They had to continually strive to strike the right balance, however, in order to retain the needed balance. Dial too far in one direction and the game began to lose fluidity/free flow or vise versa. So far I really appreciate how the game is playing on both ends of the court after latest tweaks/patch. More player movement, etc, would definately be welcome as we progress this year! I have heard from some sources that they are working on the inclusion of signature dribbling or the expansion of it for various players for this iteration. Sincerely looking forward to the future!

Glad I'm not going crazy there. I'll check those out.

They have continued to improve some of the wonky transitional animations throughout the year (especially things like pull ups) which is awesome. I would just like to see the game open up a bit more to showcase those things...

Ok. Since I was using an older, less optimized TV/console setup during my demo play, it's quite possible that I never experienced the demo as it was meant to be experienced back then. Switching to this new setup makes what came before appear more sluggish.

EA, how bout one more good faith jesture...... a month after legends get released in LUT put them in a legend pool in the roster editor. Give us some better assets to create all time teams or something. Plus if we get to try out legends on play now it might push more sales to LUT to try and get a legend you might really like

this patch means i can play this game well into next winter as i see what offerings the two basketball games offer us next october.

Live's tendencies work for me, they are not 100% spot on, but i like that their base tendency is to drive to the hoop. this prevents the blow outs i can get by locking down players in other games knowing they will throw up a prayer three or fade away.

i am really loving the streetball feel live provides, i dont want the jerry sloan -larry brown feel i was getting from 2k lately.
