Now you got me interested, NFL2k..."our way out of nfl2k as a whole" can you elaborate on that? I have owned every 2k since it's earliest days on dreamcast, and I clearly remember and still hate that EA was able to throw more money at the NFL and that is why we don't have a 2K NFL game.

Not sure what you're talking about anymore, people came to the thread to post their impressions and thoughts of the game. The only one talking about entitlement is you. Stop complaining about other peoples posts, say what you like or don't like about the game, leave the rest alone, as with all online game forums you always have to take it all as what it is, just folks own opinions, doesn't mean you will or won't like it the same.

The devs making money for their games, especially EA, don't really care if you think we shouldn't say what we'd rather have them do or not do in the demo, has nothing to do with being entitled so just let it go man.

I’m really liking the online play. Idk why. I might actually buy this game just for the one.

That said I do not agree with the performance grade. Spacing the floor, and playing defense, and being a team player really isn’t rewarded enough.

And I feel like I get punished for help defense too often.

One aspect of gameplay that needs depth: finishing.

Steps need to be singled out. There needs to be a buildup to the layup/finish. It’s too easy to hold x from anywhere and be rewarded/locked into a canned finish.

2k looks to have really addressed this a lot recently.

It just feels too cruise control at times.

Another area that needs depth: passing. Passing is too slow and floaty. Its wonky and inefficient.

Rim/shooting physics are better but it still feels like we only have 5 animations. Also misses still often times look ugly and flat off the rim.

Oh! Huge pet peeve is struggling to pick up ball in transition. Just leads to so many easy drives to the rim from half court. I shouldn’t have to turn and run and pray for the canned two-handed block animation at the hoop.

Needs to be more back pedaling, cutting off, and fouls/blowbys/contact.

The blocking is just too op in this game, they need to fix that

Okay i spent 5 hours watching this.. with a guy who plays it every year,.. this game is leaps and bounds better than 18, 18 i stopped viewing after about 10 minutes, i actually watched all 5 hours!!!!!!

Only truly negative i saw was KLay Thompson his shooting is insane from 3, or even spot up shooting... but that could easily be tuned.. also separation seems like it's not that good... pick and rolls look great this year.. but the guy who was playing said it's a completely different movement/control that takes time to get used to, once you do it's great!

I saw him learning on the fly.. like passing to the wrong player who was cutting..*

Commentary may be a weak spot if that is the NBA FINALS... honestly didn't even think about it wow reallu serious atmosphere is missing.. more like a* regular nba season game.
I'm only a 2k player, I can say this year LIVE is finally LIVE!!!!!!*
it's been age since i wanted to say that.. feels like a basketball game,,,great movement.. much better passing.. much more fluid shooting... nice blocks one thing that worries me is the take over icon that seemed extreme... but that's not something that cannot be fixed...

Only thing that could hold live back from being a real contender is franchise.... don't know much about that.

If they can add good dynamic commentary like Madden... i might be buying a console NEXT year!* (only own a Gaming P.C at least i get fifa nba 2k now madden... just need live to cross over

Finally NBA Live is BACK! Been playing since NBA LIVE 95 took a break and played 2K in 2000 went back to LIVE in 2005 then back to 2K when 2K7 dropped then back to LIVE last year.* Im a fan of both but I always loved LIVE more. Gameplay and player movement is great, the one mode is very good also. If they have to improve on anything I would say just the commentary. The game should improve every year. I'll try 2K when it goes on sale but LIVE got me.*

I think you love that idea NBA Live instead of the game because they have been changing the gameplay every year it seems since they've been behind so much

Planning on trying online tonight but the one thing EA can’t fix that always ends up happening is getting stuck on a team of ball hogging yahoos.

Basketball isn’t very big in Canada where I’m from and I literally don’t know 1 person who will play this game so I always end up in random games with a bunch of tools that don’t pass. I’d say 1 out of every 10 games ends up being fun which is a ratio I’m not willing to invest time in.

NBA Live 09 and 10 were smoother in the animations department!

Live 10 is my favourite bball game I’ve ever played and yeah it had some better animations but they were definitely not smoother.

Live 10 (and most of EAs games) animation from point A to B: the dots representing frames in an animation.

Wow! One thing EA can be excited about is there seems to be a lot of interest in this game by the number of comments here. I bought both Live and 2K last year and although I thought 2K represented an overall better sim of basketball, I found myself playing Live more because to me it was just more fun. This year's version looks and plays even better except for the commentary as others have pointed out. 2K will still be great but we have our selves a ball game now!

There was a lot of interest in the demo last year. Lives problem is keeping it. Back in Janurary or Feb, Live was one of the top selling games (it was like 5$ or 10$) on the PS4. For all the things the game does well, without the depth most of us want it doesn't have a long shelf life. Hopefully Live 19 has something big up their sleeves, because if not, I see things trending the same way as 18 with only a few people here actively playing the game in a few months.

Amazing how you're telling me how I feel...

2K has been stagnant for the past few years, still my favorite game to play.

You have to give credit where credit is due, LIVE has made tremendous improvements sure it only took them 10 years Still it looks and plays light years ahead of last year's version.

I'm a 2Kfan boy but I can separate my love for 2k and acknowledge LIVE is back to Contending...the best game NO way.. but massive improvements.

Seems most 2kfans write off LIVE and look for the faults before even a screen shot or game play is released... people will be better off have an open mind set and give credit where credit is due.

You say 2kfatigue , maybe you have 2k obsession.. because LIVE is a very decent game this year, be open minded it's why the 2k vs LIVE silly war exists... close minded people.

As i stated before, it's great for basketball fans to have 2 GREAT choices, don't know why anyone NOT want that.

Sorry for getting off TOPIC, LIVE is back again coming from a 2kFAN boy.

I can ACKNOWLEDGE LIVE is a contender and I welcome it!!!!!

Atmosphere is Regular Season, not Finals.


If you check the settings, you can't change from Regular Season to Playoffs / Finals.

About 3 hours of playing, very pleased and I'm sold for the full game. 5 on 5 play now NBA is smooth and feels great on the court, graphics are crisp, courts are shiny and bright and better than the courts from the other game. I like the feel, feels like a souped up version of 18 which I did enjoy. I really have no complaints about the game besides the horrible presentation thanks to shoddy commentary.

AS mentioned by many of you, What on earth is going on with the commentary? It sounds like they recorded themselves on a cheap microphone, I can't figure it out, but it sounds cheap or something and their lines are dull and very "uninformative" . I hope they can update it as the season progresses and patches come. The soundtracks is awful. I will just leave it at that.

Enjoying the One as I did last year. Online is smooth and fast an seems to be some good players online that like playing a team game and AMEN, I don't see any Virtual currency offerings. I will buy this game at launch. I hope franchise won't disappoint me a lot. I hope it will keep me busy this winter when it gets cold outside.

Graphics 9.5 Great looking player models, accurate uniforms and spot on courts that look amazing.

Gameplay 8.5 Tight, not perfect, but with a few hitches and hiccups here and there, but much better than 18 which I enjoyed. Looking forward to see if the legacy issues from the previous Live games have been addressed.

Presentation/Sound: 6.0 The music is worse than vomit. I mute in the menus it's so bad. I wish we had more variety. Commentary is downright atrocious. Sounds like commentary from an old 90's basketball video game. Good crowd reaction, nice sound effects. I wish there was more stat screens in real time.

Longevity: Undetermined how long I will keep coming back, but the ONE seems like it will keep me entertained. Tons of unlockables and NO VC, kudos for EA for doing that and that will give them a big advantage for the other guys who are fed up with that on the other game.

Final Call: NBA Live definitely is back and it's finally great we have 2 great basketball games to own this year.

I had a lot of fun with Shaq, Vince and AI, Shaq played just like himself. Is there a way to play with them again, or just a one time thing?

I would hope there is a way to in the full game.
