I wanted to like this demo. I really did, because of 2Ks anti consumer VC non sense. But the reality is Live is behind 2K by at least 5 years in terms of gameplay. The animations and graphics are actually pretty good this year, but everything else is...not good. The floaty, unresponsive passing is bad enough on its own to almost invalidate the whole game. And in true EA fashion, the menus are as cluttered and clunky as can be.
Not optimistic about the state of basketball video games right now.Comment

The more I play this game the more I like it.
it is so much improved from live 18 I cant Even believe it honestly.
The player motion the game play the fluidity Everything just seems much more controlled and tight. the game is Fun like it's supposed to be, in my opinion.
The only thing I miss is vangundy, His Commentary was so fluid and natural and these guys sound robotic uninteresting. maybe they will grow on me. In the full release Should be better hopefully.
But Unless you're a die hard 2 K fan trying to like this series and if you ever even wanted to give live a chance, I can't imagine how you cannot at least enjoy the game that's put on this CourtComment

Fluid is a good way to describe movement.
But i cannot get over the jumpshooting. It seems so delayed. Live has been like this for years. You press the button and it feels like your dude is waiting a half a second before he responds. It’s annoying but easy to get used to if it was the only basketball game. Post seems generic. Seemed too easy in the live event. If my guy has 95 post offense i don’t see how i would’ve missed one shot. Like i was getting open on every move but could tell i was missing because my rating is too low

I really like the demo.
- The 3on3 game with iverson seemed more fluid than the actual game somehow
- Shooting feels great
- Graphics took a significant step down sadly
- CPU is tough on higher levels but more fun to play on pro (eg they dont go for pumpfakes at alle on higher difficulty settings)
- Overall you can see that The One is where most of the time goes in by the devs but thats ok I guess, without it there certainly wouldnt be an NBA Live game anymoreComment

One game of NBA in the books. Game is pretty but I’m not a fan of the movement. This isn’t football. It’s basketball and the change of direction is too heavy imo. The announcers are forgettable. They are robotic, basic and sound like a first year effort. I’m not sure this is an improvement over not bringing back the same crew even if they never updated their commentary (which is what they did last year already).
The cpu PG didn’t drive all day long which was nice. The post game had some decent moves although I suck at them normally. There are still some finishing layup moves where the animation kicks in and you get a bucket no matter what the defence. The cpu does not help much on defence which leads to more contested passes and steals on the wing as everyone just sticks with their man. Really hurts the drive and kick game. The cpu offence moved off the ball but I wish my players did that more without having to call plays.
What can I say. It’s not a bad game. If it was the only option I could find a way to enjoy myself. I have enjoyed it in the past. But how do you compete against 2K whose product is better in almost everything in NBA action? And we pretty much know franchise will be super basic compared to 2K too.Comment

Court impressions
Lighting is improved.
Floor reflection is highlighted.
Glad to have less of dark alley style courts. We can actually play in daytime.
Court Wishlist:
1. Use my own court in 5v5 and 3v3 hosting online.
2. Show the actual court name that we key in. When I play in mi court it always says The One court.Comment

Oh boy here we go lol. Careful, I mentioned that I didin't like seeing some girl doing a crazy Vince Carter like dunk in the wnba trailer a while back in it's playground mode, and some sjw fool tried to 'lecture' me and make my post something that it wasn't. Anyway, this is one of the things I feared. Look at how effortless she dunks, and it even looks unrealistic. Even Brittney Griner who is I'm guessing is 6'8, barely grazes the rim when she dunks. And when she dunked, it made espn just on how rare it is. This would be fine if it were nba street or something, but for what's supposed to be a sim game, I expect more.
If this is as crazy as the The One trailer from a while back indicated, it's going to be something else that the live franchise is mocked for, even though adding female players is a great addition to the game.

Graphics took a step down ???I really like the demo.

the other game over does it, and this one sounds like it was done 3-2 generations ago. its that bad.... the play by play sounds robotic, sounds like early game development.
I can literally hear/see the if, then, else with the coding. its bad broh, for current gen.... face it
In addition, it might be bad audio mixing.

I am really liking the improvements to the game and enjoy playing "The One". Personally I like playing a season which is usually just one for me due to time constraints. I am not huge into fully fledged franchise modes. I would be completely fine if they added a season mode. It just enjoyable for me playing the game. It's fun. I don't have as much time to dive into games like I used to. It's fun to be able to fire up a game and just have a good time. I did buy both games last year but ended up playing Live more. The way 2K handled micro transactions was such a huge turn off for me. I can honestly say that I am leaning more towards not buying 2K and just keeping 2K18 for Classic teams. I may pick it up later on a holiday sale like I did last year but I already have Live purchased and have no regrets about it after spending time with the demo. I still have time to play the game through EA Access as well so I will see how that goes.Comment

I’m a big rim physics guy.......
Rim physics are incredible in Live 19. The ball swishes, banks in, clangs around the rim hundreds of different ways. I love that.
It wasn’t to long ago where they had the same animation for a made shot and like three different animations for a miss.

As a mostly Pro Am guy - I cant put the demo down. I really enjoyed 18 and was clowned by all the homies about liking Live. They didnt believe I truly had more fun playing it than the other game.
I say that to say 3 of my friends said yesterday while playing the demo "Damn. Ima have to get the Live this year full price - Coach aint lying this year".
Gameplay. Love it.
Graphics. Very good
Court battles are going to be fun!
Custom Court feature was fun too.
Bottom line for me is we have the tools to have our Live Pro Am leagues really take off now with 5min qtr Pro Am and the ability to set your home court rules.
I said it last year too, it just feels like basketball.
As for the NBA portion I enjoyed 5v5 scrimage, 1v1 scrimmage, and NBA/WNBA Quick Game I enjoyed them as well.
I really dig the gameplay so Im going to like most modes on the game. As long as Franchise is solid (I personally dont need much, just the basics) I'll be more than happy. Already preordered - cant wait. Good Job LiveComment
