I hope live get some tuning on contested layups . If they aren't blocked it's almost automatic.

Any word on when the trial will be available on EA Access? I’ve read 8/31 and 9/3.Comment

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He
I feel like pro plays so much better than all star or superstar so I've been doing some experimenting trying to figure out what I think the problem is. I believe it is the game speed.
For the testing I used the Celtics as I thought I would get better data seeing as their whole team isn't shooters.
On pro animations play out nicely and the crazy no look interceptions by the CPU don't happen much. It's easier to command where your passes go and everything just feels smoother. The biggest difference is your players aren't continually smothered by the Cpu and you can get some decent looks from mid range or deeper. Unfortunately though, the Cpu just can't compete on pro.
I upped the difficulty to all star and turned down game speed to 60 and got very similar gameplay. A ton better than default speed. I could get decent looks by working plays and using the quick action buttons. I couldn't do that at all on default speed. I was scared turning down the speed would make it too easy to blow by defenders but that didn't happen. It also didn't make guys open all the time but it did help make it possible to get someone open or at least a good look. Also the psychic defender interceptions were toned waaaaaay down. My shooting percentages however were very high.
It's just too easy to shoot if you have a good look. This obviously is all based on the premise that you use the shooting meter. In 2k it is rare, very rare in fact that I could get a green release. In Live it's very likely. The meter is just too easy.
While testing I wanted to see what would happen if I put all the shooting sliders at zero while playing on pro. Hey if I can make pro play with more of a challenge then problem solved. Ultimately it played out how I thought. I made everything I got green release on and missed most of the ones I didn't. That sounds great in theory but the game was just unbalanced and the end result was I still whooped the CPU because like I said you can get a lot of decent looks on pro which meant a lot of green releases.
Now on to my games on all star with game speed at 60. I had great competitive games I will add but again my shooting numbers were pretty jacked up. I averaged around 60-70% from three. Again getting some good looks with that game speed.
I couldn't tell any difference at all in the difficulty of the shot meter between pro and all star.
I like user skill being involved when I play but I also try to get realistic statistics as well. Thats ultimately the rub I think. 2K balances the shot meter difficulty and shooting percentages very well and I think EA needs to look into it. Having the CPU draped all over you, smothering every movement isn't in my opinion the best solution. I'm sure with practice it could be something you eventually overcome but it makes for a pretty unfun video game IMO.
Like I said though I'm having very competitive fun games on All Star at game speed 60 so I'm going to roll with that and just accept I will have some bloated shooting percentages. The fact the Cpu is OP on offensive rebounds and doesn't turn over the ball very often, the Cpu's extra possesions compensate for my higher user shooting pecentages.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

So something cool I saw new on the NBA side. I got Kyrie scorching hot. When that happened, GS switched Klay on me and started shutting me down. I also noticed that a lot of the moves I was juking players with earlier in the game weren't working anymore towards the end of the game. Nice touch.

Also, I'm thinking of experimenting with "In air contact" (lowering it), Lowering blocking and lowering contested shot %. I'm thinking lowering it all will help with the suction blocking, etc. I didn't notice it as prominently in the retail version, but I definitely seen my fair share of it in the demo.
With that said, I LOVED, how smooth this sequence played out.
And this
This one too. I drove the lane, saw Boogie, thought I'd adjust with the one legged fadeaway, and literally pulled it off. Granted, the shot was thrown out of bounds, lol, but it felt great.Last edited by WTF; 08-26-2018, 07:00 PM.Twitter - WTF_OS

Oh yeah, check my twitter (in my sig). I was saucing dudes up with Kyrie earlier.
Yep, I noticed this in the last few games I played too. The demo does feel a little different than retail also, that's for sure.
Tune the sliders?

A tip for those who play on broadcast like myself (because angles can be tricky)...it may even help some on baseline-
When you feel you have a step on someone, and they make contact with you, you can get by them. by continuing to "steer" the left stick around them.
I noticed I would get a step on guys but get knocked back and the announcer would say something to the effect of "He had him beat"...
I was pressing the stick into the defender often times. They will "win" that battle more times than not and make you pick up your dribble...
Helps against that sticky Superstar D

Is there a trick to passing it in to the post from the wing? The circle will be on the guy in the post but if I hit triangle to lob it in he always launches it across the court to the other wing and it results in a turnover 9 out of 10 times.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Try aiming a little more toward the baseline, so no other player is close to the line of the pass.

The sliders offered are still exactly the same as 18 *I think*. We need more options. I want free throw difficulty. fatigue rate and so on, I want more consistency sliders, more defensive, more offensive etc... Just a little nitpick for nba live 20. The more the better, as long as they work!Comment

After spending more time with the demo, I have really come around on Live 19. There's a lot of good things happening here. It's not fully where I want the game to be, but I can definitely have an enjoyable experience with the game.
The shot variety (3-PT, mid-range, drive and post) is really good. Would like to see defense loosened (seems like everyone plays deny all the time) which should help out help defense and create more drive and dish options.Currently Playing:

Re: NBA Live 19 Demo Available Now For Both Xbox One & PS4 - Post Your Impressions He
My take is that people just REALLY REALLY want Nba Live to be relevant again which is why so many people on here are saying how good this demo is.
I think NBA2K games have been so lackluster lately and the devs for 2k just dont seem to really care about the grievances the consumers have. Which is disgusting because alot of the issues have been going on for YEARS.
With that said.... ive played this demo for a few hours. While it is an improvement it is still pretty bad. Some of the face scans, specifically shaqs, are AWFUL. The fluidity of movement that alot are clamoring over is head scratching to me because its not fluid at all. Feels clunky and SLOW. Shots look and feel weird. Rim dynamics are horrific to see. The ball looks way too small for the rim and hoop.... among other things.Comment

I think it’s more probable that the people actually do like the game and just have different tastes/expectations than you.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush
