Ugh still no roster update for opening day. Maybe tomorrow? 4 teams are still missing their jersey patches. Accessory colors are still way off for just about every jersey with every team. Players still missing. I wan't to get into this game so bad. Both Live and 2K have me impatiently waiting no doubt.

Wack. Ran last nite w wing d n backcourt d. Got wins in 3s but I'm still waiting for Dat roll back for post players. Was hoping to play big.
Gm plays well if you are anything but an inside scoring big.

Re: NBA Live 19 Patch 1.07 Available - Adds Edit Player in Franchise Mode, Patch Note
Quick observations after latest patch:
Playing on All-Star. Short sample size, however, thus far, steals and blocks appear more respectable or reasonable now. No longer seeing erratic and misdirected passes where players arms either don't animate or animate the wrong direction relative to the intended recipient of the pass. Also observed less DB style passing lane interceptions and warping. The gameplay is more free flowing with a pretty good balance. Not perfect but better than pre-patch for certain. I will report back if any of these issues rear their ugly heads again.Last edited by Calvenn; 10-17-2018, 09:17 PM.Comment

Hey, no worries at all, that's what this forum/community is about right? I'm always open to being wrong and purposely prefaced my post by stating that I was working with a small sample size. Just to confirm you are playing with default sliders right? Mine is also Play Now games. Have not touched Franchise games yet. Also, are you playing on All-Star?Last edited by Calvenn; 10-17-2018, 09:50 PM.Comment

They don’t say anything about gameplay in the patch notes and I’m inclined from my games to believe they didn’t touch it. How random this game is makes it hard to be 100 % though.
I’m beyond devastated right now.
I posted this on Reddit but I want to post it here too I’m just so disappointed with EA:
“Maybe I’m reaching a bit here but I also don’t think it’s fair(was going to say ethical but I do believe EAs intentions were good) that I played a demo to try and sell me the game, loved it, absolutely loved it and it did sell me. I paid $79.99 Canadian. Game goes to half that price a bunch of times and I don’t complain.I’m happy to support a great game and to be completely honest was getting my $79.99 worth anyways. Now they pull the rug out from under me and I rage quit more games than I finish. That to me is just flat out wrong. Again I think their intentions were good with the last patch but it isn’t what I was sold on in the demo and it sure as hell isnt what I paid full price for.“2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

Re: NBA Live 19 Patch 1.07 Available - Adds Edit Player in Franchise Mode, Patch Note
Ya game is still almost unplayable for The One mode. I mean you can still play and win but the fun factor is no where near it was during day 1 when I bought it. To make it worse adding the penalty for using turbo and making your character tired adds more salt to the wounds.
Will anyone even read these complaints and save The One mode? Time will tell but it's ticking. I know at some point they just stop with patches and focus on next year. I just hope they see all this and do something about it or else there is no next year for me.Comment

Re: NBA Live 19 Patch 1.07 Available - Adds Edit Player in Franchise Mode, Patch Note
Just out of curiousity, when feasible, can you also return game speed to default 80 for testing purposes? I tried with speed at 60 and made some observations. Would like to hear your experience with this change. Also, what are the areas of concern for you and how are you replicating them? For example, my corner passes were intercepted at a higher frequency pre-patch. The cpu does not appear to cover as much ground to close gaps as prior. I'm guessing these issues are also reflected in the stat lines for you?
I have 2 big concerns. The biggest for me is the steals. Specifically with steals is the fact the game quite often chooses to have you pass the ball to the inside of the recipient close to the defender. No NBA player ever does that. They should pass on the outside of the player so their body is between the ball and defender. That happens on the whole perimeter and the wings far too often. I have no problem with steals if I’m wildly passing but I’d say there are 8 or so passes stolen the way I described a game and they are infuriating because there isn’t anything I can do about it. You add those type of steals with the ones I’m ok with(good defense, bad decision) and you get 10-15 steals a game.
Even worse though is the cpu gives up 10 steals a game and I can’t do anything to control that.
The steals are game breaking IMO.
My other problem I found a work around and managed to get some of the fun factor back last night is the smothering defense. Getting decent looks is brutally hard. It was tough before the big patch but after it you are lucky to get 2-3 opportunities for green releases all game. I don’t want every shot to be able to be made but the defense is relentless. Pre patch you could at least pass the ball around, drive and dish to get some looks but now those passes are stolen constantly. To top that off now when you drive you just bounce off and pick up your dribble most of the time(biggest complaint about 2k as well) I thought it was very well balanced pre patch and ultimately was what the “fun factor” was.
The workaround I stumbled on last night though was the contest shot slider. I lowered it to 25 and it seems to be giving me the right balance of yellow/green release opportunities.
I did manage to have some fun again late last night after lowering the contest shot slider but the steals have got to get toned down.
I also want to touch on the shot blocking issue. People have been complaining about it for 2 years now and I’ve never had a problem with it until now. I’ve explained a number of times my feelings on how I like that you have to think before just trying to go to the rim. It helps deter dunk fests, helps keep points in the paint down and really does add to basketball strategy unlike any game before it. But.......... I will readily admit they went waaaaaaayyyy over board on that big patch. Monster blocks are a regular occurrence. That animation where the defender basically jumps up and grabs the ball with both hands happens every game. I’ve seen that maybe a handful of times in real life(and I’m old).
I totally get what happened. People were asking for defense so this is what EA came up with. With the ground work and animations that are in this game it just doesn’t work. It doesn’t translate it doesn’t animate well. It just flat out was a bad idea to juice the mechanics in the game. They shoulda put it at the top of their to do list for NBA Live 20 and implement it properly.
Anyways I’m glad I’ve found some fun again even if it’s not as much as before the big patch and I will also try game speed at 80 and report what I find.Last edited by CujoMatty; 10-18-2018, 06:04 PM.2016 NLL Champion Saskatchewan Rush

I also agree with the double handed snatch. I do believe it should be further restricted but prior to this last patch I was witnessing SG's like Klay Thompson performing this feat! I also do occasionally see some of what you describe where the ball is automatically passed to the outside of the intended player where its more likely to be picked off by the defender. It's something I meant to point out in my initial post, however I will say I haven't encountered it as much. As I stated, it's by no means utopia or perfect, however I have noticed less of a frequency of such offending issues. Even though they did not list any adjustments of this nature in the patch notes the devs have been known to be silent about minor modifications, reversals or reversions in the past. Do you feel the issues are at the same level as prior to the latest patch or perhaps the adjustments are not substantial enough for you and some others?
As Seanhazz1 has stated, they really should find a way to separate the NBA modifications from that of The One game mode. I also believe they should employ a more selective (vs global adjustments) approach to tuning the league players. When done properly and judiciously, we could witness some good results and avoid the eye sore scenarios that allow non defensive players to average obscene steals and blocks while allowing elites to stand out as needed. In short they need to take more time to implement these changes and test more rigorously before patch releases!!Last edited by Calvenn; 10-18-2018, 07:37 PM.Comment

Yep, that bothers me as well and appears to be more prevalent this year than last for some odd reason. They must work on that hopefully this year but for certain next iteration.
