Maybe in conjunction with the difficulty levels the game should add play style and just let players choose between arcade and sim without having to reverse patches and such.

Live is fun and usually feels like a 48 minute highlight reel than a simulation but that works here and some of the changes just don’t fit it seems.

I think it's a little weird how people hate dunks but they are cool with cpu flying to steal the ball. Blocks seem out of control too.
Yes what he said, I don't dislike the whole patch. I dislike how far they went with passing and the ability of CPU to intercept passes. Also blocks seem to be overdone and the screens don't seem effective against AI. the rest of the stuff I'm fine with. They should have incremented this a bit at a time, they knee jerked.

Depends what mode you play. Franchise players may think this is God's gift to Live while The One mode players think this is the worst patch to have hit the game. The issue you Franchise has sliders so even if you dont like something adjust it and call it a day. But, what can player like me who ONLY bought this game for The One mode? You wanted info on what was good pre-patch here is my list.

        1. I could play a great pick n roll game with elite centers like Embid and Davis. They would set screens properly cpu would get trapped they would roll I would drive to the hoop and if blocked had a lane to pass for maybe a layup or another pass for a good shot chance. Post patch CPU cuts the screen and automatically warps in passing lane with other player so you can't drive nor pass.

        2. Pre patch once in a while I could drive to the hoop using my speed and agility that I spent all my hard earned skill points on for a layup and dunk. Post patch CPU plays like Payton/Matambo with every player ever created in this game. WNBA player steal the ball like I'm a High School player and block me like no tomorrow.

        3. Passing before was tricky had to pin point but could still get some good nice hard passes in for cutters. Post patch almost impossible. Again CPU locks down all lanes and already knows where you are thinking of passing before you even throw the ball.

I can go on and on about issues about this patch. Again all these patches were from Franchise to give you a good 5vs5 full court control each player game. This patch is not meant for you to control 1 player. If I pass the ball and wait for the AI to decide what to do with the ball they will either a) get stripped within 10 seconds now or B) get blocked by some WNBA girl.

2K did the same thing in My Player and decided to make it more "SIM" and ruined that mode now live is doing it to The One. Only difference 2K ruined it in many years Live ruined it with 1 patch.

Here is a good example. I just played on Pro with my The One backcourt defender PG on the Pistons. I was vs the 76ers. Andre Drummond got a triple double by getting 10 points, 17 rebounds (very normal stats in RL for Drummond) but he got also got 11 blocks!. Again this is in pro, if it was on All Star he could have gotten 20 blocks I'm sure.

Even Ben Wallace a much better blocker than Drummond only ever got 10 in a game 2x in his career.

I just can't win. Too many steals, pick and roll is in effective. My defense is bad not used to Live's way of defense. Like if someone gets past you and you run back to him i can never block him back.

How do you guys play/win ?

Played today after getting the update, game is still broken online. In live run shooters shoot 90 % off 3's and are impossible to guard on the perimeter, but if someone gets the ball low and all users just mash y (block)and take away that opportunity, these games mechanics are literally catered towards the fancy showoff dribbling and shooting, its hard to play for me.

[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] the blocking is insane (on AllStar/Superstar). Javale McGee is elite now. Don’t even think about attacking the paint.

cannot play the game since the update. No matter what game mode after the loading screen it always crashes to the desktop with an Error. My Franchise has also disappeared.

So, i played it more tonight and yeah, they have to tone it down with the interceptions, some of them are borderline ridiculous and it takes the fun away from the game really. Live's defense is almost too good in regards to a few things , such as offball screens (i love to run floppy plays on 2k, they are absolutely terrible on live) and passing lanes are a joke really, plus this update ended up bringing some laughably bad animations, what' is with your guy trying to pass the ball forward, the player does the animation of someone passing the ball forward, but the ball ends up going backwards.

Also, defenders jumping on air like they are Richard Sherman in his prime for no good reason, etc.

I agree with the poster that said that although they had good intentions, it ended up a different kind of non sim.

                        All in all i'm disappointed.

I'm not really enjoying the game tbh. I played the demo quite a bit (i liked it), but the game just...i don't enjoy it. Pro is too easy, All Star is too hard. The CPU steals like crazy, I don't really know how to properly play defense, heck can we even box out for a rebound? And dribble moves feel so limited.

Since this patch, the gameplay is not too great... I can't even breakaway with a fast player anymore. Can't get back on D either. The game feels so slow now, not even fun.

Last Patch(1.08) sure fixed the "Lost" Franchise save files that a lot of people experienced. Now you can see your save files & continue franchise.
Now my thoughts regarding gameplay is that some will love this & some will actually hate this.It defenately depends from everbody's aproach to the tha game.I speak clearly for 5vs5 modes and not The One.After having 2 full quartes franchise games vs cpu on SStar the diff i see is
On Ball & Off Ball D has been raized by cpu.
Pick n Roll D the same
Defenders steal almost all careless passes now & block almost all risky layups from player if they are on traffic & are performed by small players vs Tall players.
Generally cpu defence has been pumped up alot.
On Offense cpu awarness has been pumped too, like Celtics4Life commented it is like sliders for cpu has been "raized" while for human are the same before patch.
Cpu star players can hit contested amazing shots ,IF they can somehow take the first step on the defender just for half a sec they score with J.(This is happening in real life by ellite scorers).Or if they brake D & drive and help D comes they are so good now to find the whole on D & pass to the lane for a dunk or to the weak side for shot. They can destroy you know if you risk too much on D.
in order to win now you just can't play as before. As simple as that.I mean pre patch after defensive rebound we could just pass pass & run the floor al the way, drive, dunk or i could pick n roll all the time pass to the paint & dunk or just cut a player to the paint & score, the cpu couldnt defend nothing on the above to the paint, passes were succesfull.
Now,if you play like this you are about to get destroyed. You will be 15-20 points behind in 5 min tops. You have to slow down the game when there are not good oporunities for Fastbrake & run plays. If you dont run plays or dont know how to get of screens (of ball movement) with scorers, you will not be able to hit shots with high chances and will be frastrated. Also, now you cant be succesfull with driving to the lane when paint is populated. And it populated much more now when you do,you get blocked or miss the layup even if you fast break and defender is closing you from behind or by the side you have good chances to miss the drive.
in all of the above, contributes that players are tiring quicker now if you use the turbo & tired players miss more contested layups now, plus that if players is very tired the "green" mark on shot meter, dissapears completely!
i can understand that some will actually feel that the "fun" is gone if they wanted to play a more arcade aproach that the game is more loose & easy to score and denfend. Some others will feel that the game now plays great as a more sim aproach without exploits from human vs the cpu, abusing picknroll & inability of cpu to cut every pass to the paint leading to an easy dunk.
Sory for the long post, one thing is sure.If you try to continue to play as pre patch you are going to be torched & frastrated A LOT.
i suggest that those who feel like this already, should lower the difficulty at least until they used to the new style of play.
And lastly ,it could be me but i just feel that the speed has been toned down. The movement seemed to me kind of slower & i defenately experienced major "lag" from controller when attempting some moves like pass when being pressed etc.it takes some second delay to actualy do the move that you have order and this can lead turnovers
