Has anyone played the Lakers on All Star? Did they mean to make Javale McGee into Bill Russell? Had to turn it off. Apparently if he’s on he floor he will block EVERY paint attempt. Super frustrating

Funny you say that because I used McGee to get the triple double without points achievement and actually almost did it twice in one game with 20+ blocks, 25+ rebounds and assists.

Wish this game used tuners like NHL series so you could just keep using the last tuner version when they put something out as broken as they did with this patch. I was just getting back into this game for a day before this patch dropped and having fun after killing myself in 2K19 MyCareer grind for 3 weeks this was a fun break. Now they made this change and its a mess...ugh

Playing a bunch today and I’m getting used to the passing. I still don’t like it but I’m not as devastated as I was initially. There is no arguing that the warping and animation wonkiness has increased because of it.

Personally I thought the gameplay pre patch was better but I’m also aware they didn’t specifically make the game for me so maybe others think it’s better and I’ll just need to adapt.

Im dangerously close to becoming the “they ruined the game” guy so I’ll leave it at try for yourself and please share your thoughts.

I wish every game did this. It blows my mind that nhl has been doing this for the better part of a decade and no other game has caught on.

I don't hate the patch. I like parts about it. I think there is still work to do.


Mainly:


Clearly define what an inside shot is for us. If an inside shot is, as we would expect, a standing lay up, make them more successful. Tuning lay ups should not affect those shots. I can face up but it's hard to put back after a reb or sometimes I just blow bunny lay ups. Pretty sure it's not timing based but if it is, no meter. As post anchors get inside scoring as a primary and I'm pretty sure they're the only one, further differentiate 88-95.


The game is considerably more wonky. Sometimes I'd do passes that my body wasn't facing towards like a no look no arm movement post pass. Wrist flick maybe. Cept it was fast. Players speed up and slow down oddly sometimes. They also twist oddly sometimes like old zag poltergeists or something. Don't get anywhere but it's like a twitch. Cpu doesn't seem to like the patch cuz they dunno how to play on it.



Also you get posted up v the cpu and you get stuck sometimes. Never had that happen before. Can't do anything but pull a shot/pump or pass off. Can't spin or drop step. I got really into trying to find out how to finesse the game into letting me make inside shots consistently, during that I did a hop step then in attempting to fake or shoot I did an explode out of triple threat move at extra speed. Turned around on the other side of the rim and monster dunked it. It was like wow if only I didn't obviously double dribble.



Live u gotta tune down the from behind blocks. That's the biggest no no next to effective steal mashing (which might be coming back too), chase downs happen but if you're gonna use canned animations keep the from behind blocks in check. The catch block that was there before was kinda garbage but it's all worse now. I don't mind canned animations if you have to trigger them right. You should have to be on another plane from someone athletically or have them tired out to get a proper chase down dunk block in a video game. Otherwise, how can you get around people? That's an issue that plagues the other gm and was fresh air in live. You get beat u can jump but ur just gonna be chopping the air.



Pass steals aren't an issue to me except for the fact they are automatic. They even lunge your guy I guess if you are pressing l2. I body ppl up w l2 so I don't want that. In the same way their lunging makes cpu worse at d and the way they line up they are less able to help.



It's a dreaded (imo) cpu got worse at d and scoring got harder update. I think shot tuning should continue, I am happy they are responsive but Yea I have some issues. I'll prol get more wins cuz some cheesers took a big hit but in general I kinda preferred the game day one minus the shooting n zagging.



Some of us were already getting steals we didn't need the gm to do it for us and superstar cpu was already pretty good at it to. The area around the rim is still soft if you know how to pass that's buckets for a cpu. Meaning you can hit people or cpu on the right cut and the cpus not gonna steal it if you are passing in a certain area.

I also think the fatigue needs tuning. I'm not used to stamming out in gms because turbo is usually unnecessary. Like in the other gm I'd be like yo how does this dude have a Gatorade already. I rarely got under half. But the reason for that was there was a mid level non sprint jog. There isn't one in live. It seems like you can run about down the court once, miss a lay up, then as you are getting back on defense you are dead tired on the other side, if u hold turbo the whole time. It's interesting in concept but like I said just moving without turbo is so damn slow. It's cool that if you go all in to score on the break and fail that the other team is gonna have an advantage but you should still be able to jog. I know where I need to be, but I have to use turbo to get there in live. I am really noticing the turbo "Nerf" maybe it, like the other parts, applies more to bigs haha

Wow, I couldn't even read all that lol. I didn't expect to have to keep scrolling down that list! The way these things are going is there really is no benefit from buying a sports game at launch, with all the updates we are better off waiting at least a month. For the people that somehow are 40 games into a season already I always laugh at that, first off how, second why? The game keeps updating and improving why would you want to jump into a season that soon?

I agree. I feel that sports games should always come out a week or two before their respective seasons begin. More dev time to work out demo kinks and add in better content

1.08 is already out this morning. I'm guessing its primarily bug fixes.

Not a fan of the latest patch at all TBH. Really put a dent in the fun factor to me which is why I turn Live on.

Got a quick Live Run game in this morning and ran into a NBA-PDS disconnect mid way through. SMH.

Hey 24, I was actually going to pick up Live today. What problems are you running into after the patch? Just going over the notes, this patch looks like it makes the gameplay even better.
