        Question:

I think early on people found that assigning the CPU teams playsets caused them to go not go to their star players and poor cpu defense. Are these problems gone when u use them?

The reason for that problem was because when you change the CPU from DYNAMIC to a specific play set they don't really stay with plays within that set that focuses on key players. I basically found a solution to that problem by personally testing specific plays that caters to each teams best players. Thats why for instance if you set the CPU up to run Double High for say Houston as an example make sure you leave their offensive playbook setting on DYNAMIC but go to their QUICK PLAYS and assign a play # for atleast 3 quick plays. Example you will select DOUBLE HIGH play 5, play 4 and play 2 replacing the regular quick plays that were already listed. Leave the last quick play for just the your teams offense example Dallas leave it at Motion don't pick a play # as you did for Houston and then when you switch the controller to your team you can leave everything as is without editing your playbook and Houston will all three of those plays and you can use your D-Pad to activate the motion offense you listed as the last quick play and it will cycle through plays in motion offense as you continue to press the button. The CPU however will continue to use the three plays selected for them which in conjuction will force feed star players the ball.

I hope this makes sense to people. In other words don't just select a PLAY SET you must SELECT a PLAY # within that set and the CPU will run only those plays and with DYNAMIC still listed on their OFFENSIVE PLAYBOOK they will cycle through plays like ISO and PICK N ROLL on occasions aswell.

Also, the CPU's defense is still pretty good with my settings.

Re: ALL-STAR Sliders for Press Box CAM (with CPU Shot Control)

Also, within the next couple of days I will post my final sliders. I've tweaked this game some more and I know people have their own personal preference regarding sliders but I truly believe after all the editing I've done with players, team rosters and playsets this game will be a blast for just about anyone willing to put in the time and make the adjustments I truly reccomend that will go hand in hand with my sliders final sliders.

I will give a heads up right now on what I've done so far with players and this will be a must to make this game more satisfying.

Decrease all PG's, SG's and SF's shotblocking rating down to ZERO. Lower all PF's and C's down to a scale between 10-30. The highest rating for say a guy like Ben Wallace, Tim Duncan or Theo Ratliff would be 30 but Antoine Walker would be a 10 along with say Kurt Thomas. You be the judge of how you feel a guy should rank. One minor thing I did also is for guy's taller than say 6'8 that play SF or SG I lowered their JUMPING RATING aswell because even at 0 sometimes a guy like Peja would still block shots because he's taller than the guy he was defending.

Increase All Starting PG's and Backup PG's Passing Rating by 20 and 15 points respectfully, anyone in the high 90's like Kidd or Nash only increase by 5 points. All other players SF's, SG's, PF's and C's increase by 10 points.

Players they are POTENTIAL TRIPLE DOUBLE THREATS I would reccomend boosting their Ratings into the 80's or higher for Defensive Rebounding and Passing if they are'nt already there.....example LeBron I boosted his Defensive Rebounding and Passing Ratings both into the low 80's and the results have been solid as he can now get about 8 rebounds and usually 4-5 assist versus me if I play against the Cavs. I also assigned LeBron to be the Cavs starting SF and backup PG by editing his posistion under player edits.

I increased all players DEFENSIVE AWR by 10 points because guy's were just to dum in zone defenses and now they react quicker to the ball. If you make this adjustment however you have to spend time lowering all players SHOT BLOCK RATING because by raising it 10 points they will challenge shots better but with the reduced shot rating they won't block many shots. It also forces you to pass more instead of drive.

I always set defensive pressure to LOW or Medium on All perimeter players preferably low because that way you'll see better spacing and seperation for you and you opponent's wing players and it will help get assist totals up and shot blocks down on the perimeter. I set it to HIGH for all Post Players like C's and PF's for both teams that way buckets don't come easy down low and realistic post play will be seen.

I increased QTR Length to 11 miuntes but lowered Game Speed to 45. That was my own personal preference just so some guy's could get 35-40 minutes of playing time like real life. The play sets helps to keep team with very good BIG MEN from launching 30 three's a game as a team. It really reduces the amount of 3-point shots attempted. You'll see teams get into the mid to low 20's in attempts which is becoming ususual in todays game but you won't see many teams taking 30 three's in a game with my play sets unless it's Seattle of course.

My Sliders FINAL SLIDERS will be posted by the end of this weekend. All you would need to do is make the player adjustments for ultimate game play but for those who don't have the time to edit everything you should still find the settings enjoyable.

                    Playmakers,

I still dont understand. When you set the quick plays for the computer it sets them for your team to. So for example if I have Detroit against Utah and I set the Utah quick plays for Utah they are set for Detroit too. Is there a way to set different plays for each cpu and human?

Ok remember there are 4 quick plays listed. When you assign 3 quick plays which will actually be set plays now after you make the changes the 4th quick play slot will be your own teams OFFENSIVE SET.

Here's an example below how it should look on the QUICK PLAY SETUP SCREEN:

                        UTAH 3
                        UTAH 4
                        UTAH 1
                        1-4 HIGH

Notice up above I set the play # for the UTAH assigned plays. Now the Jazz will run only plays 3, 4 and 1 within the UTAH playbook. Which is what I want them to do because those plays are designed to go through Carlos Boozer. The last play 1-4 HIGH would be Detroit's offensive setup. Make sure you don't assign a play # just leave it at 1-4 HIGH and when you switch controllers over to Detroit you will beable to run plays assigned for Utah but your offense 1-4 HIGH will be listed aswell and you can cycle through all the plays within the 1-4 HIGH OFFENSE by repeatedly pressing that specific play button.

Key note UTAH will very rarely run a play in the 1-4 HIGH they will cycle through the top 3 listed plays 90% of the time and BAM the JAZZ are running their own play style. I believe people were changing the DYNAMIC OFFENSE to a specific team offense and leaving the quick plays as is thats why it wasn't working for most people. You have to leave it at DYNAMIC and set the actual plays by using the QUICK PLAY SLOTS. Also, you can mix and match plays aswell. For Instance take a look at this setup for Miami below.

                        INSIDE TRIANGLE 8
                        SIDELINE TRIANGLE 5
                        ISO
                        MOTION

Now the CPU will run two different specific quick plays both geared towards calling SHAQ's # down low for the ball. The ISO play will also be called and you will have the your own playbook for MOTION OFFENSE that your team will run. So, now if you don't want to run an OFFENSE in this case MOTION and you want a clearout just select ISO. I basically found away to force the CPU into going to their top 2 or 3 players for most teams by limiting their playcalling duties on their own because they would get away from certain things within a game.

OK, I'm back with bad news (again, lol).

I just got back from the WORST game I have ever played on NBA LIVE 2005. I got beat 104-66 by the Washington Wizards in my Cavs dynasty.

I set them as the same as the Orlando one (BOX) because you haven't assigned them one yet, and they also have 3 good perimeter players (Arenas, Hughes, Jamison). This was not the problem, and actually I got killed by all 3 of them. I put my one as Double High, the same as Houston, because again you haven't done them yet, and I thought since I have a good Z instead of Yao and Lebron instead of T-Mac it would work.

The problem was this: It is impossible to get an open shot without pick & roll. I put the 3 box plays in the first 3 and my double high one in the 4th, but you really need to keep pick and roll there. Every shot I took was contested because I just did not know the play. Since we don't how the plays run (damn EA), we really can't afford to not have the pick and roll, since we will never get an open shot because we don't know where to pass it!

I dont know how you managed without pick and roll as one of the options. Maybe you know how all of these plays are run, and where to pass it and when. Could you let us know how to find out how to run these plays!

On the positive side though, the plays do work and it's good seeing people run plays. But still, unless we know how to run these and get open shot's we NEED that pick and roll.
