I am willing to give EA a shot as this game will have to be 100% from scratch unlike CFB. Elite or whatever it was is way to old to take pieces from and I did not like those games anyway. I don't remember at what point I switched over to 2K but at the time I did because EA had really lost it's way with hoops games, IMO. Also 2k could probably get something out sooner that I know I would enjoy. Wish they were both making games.👍 1Comment

At least with 2k, they have an engine to work off with. I'm just not sure how viable it is to build an engine off from scratch, get all the arena/assets scanning, build a foundation within 3 years
It seems like EA was the only one who proposed a standalone game. So, I'm not sure if 2k just wanted to include College Basketball within MyCareer

Super exciting news. And saw 2K is teasing a game too. One thing I loved what EA did with the college football game is the amount of detail they put into the stadiums and traditions. Can't wait to see some of the legendary college basketball arenas with fresh new graphics.NBA: Chicago Bulls
NFL: Chicago Bears, Atlanta Falcons
MLB: Chicago White Sox (pray for me)
College: Northwestern, UIC, Notre Dame, Alabama, College of DuPage
Football (Soccer): Chicago Fire and Liverpool👍 1Comment

I imagine we'll get FCS teams in the football game either the year this game drops, or the year before. Because half the teams in basketball are FCS in football.
So I could see them doing it in football first, so they can already have the logos, wordmarks, static info, and assets (like fight songs/chants/etc).
For all we know, they could already have their folks out there gathering info and starting scans.Last edited by TripleCrown9; 07-01-2025, 10:20 PM.Boston Red Sox

2028? If true - Isn't it a bit too early to announce a new sport title? 3 years are enough for EA to cancel 2 basketball games and start another one from scratch...
But I'm totally curious. Wasn't it around 2021 when they teased an NBA game was in the making? Wonder if that was used as a base.
Anyway, from all their last gen titles I especially liked Live 18. Hopefully the new title has some DNA from that game.My Specs:

Hopefully they get the actual game play and recruiting right. I think it was a mistake to announce women's basketball will be included. They are 2 completely different games. I get they may face some pressure but I don't see how they deliver a good product for both unless they just say it will play like the men's game.
One way to help the differences would be to create a shared ratings system for both but that would lead to other non-game issues with ratings.

I read that the Live 19 servers were taken down. Is that true? If so, maybe there will be a new NBA game.
No reason not to include womens college basketball. They had women in Live 19, and womens basketball is clearly growing.👍 1Comment

Apparently 2K's proposal to the CLC was basically a DLC tournament add-on to NBA2K of only 16 college teams the first year, expanding to only 68 teams by the third year.
Compared to EA's proposal of a stand-alone game featuring all 731 men's AND women's teams.Boston Red Sox

Was just coming here to say this, saw one of the YouTube guys and he was saying how 2k wanted it DLC and like you said expanding every year by 16 teams and was wanting it to make 2-3 million before they considered even trying to make a standalone game. He also said they tried to go around the CLC to the conferences to get exclusive rights though them and it was a big issue of course with the CLC, that's crazy.-= Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.=- Edward MurphyComment

EA And 2K Games Are Beefing Over The Next College Sports Cash Cow
Apparently, 2K has been trying to get individual school licenses to make their own game and end-run around the CLC. To which I say...whatever. Let me know if/when there's a game.Comment
