Re: Live 10 vs. NBA 2K10
I'll probably get both mainly for the change of pace. I like that both games offer a few different gameplay modes. That's how I'm justifying spending $120.
2K10:
Association Mode
Presentation/Dynamic real time commentary
My Player Mode
NBA Live:
Live Season
Better player control IMO
Better in game sounds/atmosphere....IMO
Better Collision DetectionComment

Re: Live 10 vs. NBA 2K10
I'm getting 2K10 this year. I got Live 09 last year and was interested by it for a while. The dynamic DNA is cool but the dynasty mode gameplay was just so limited. It also really annoyed me that you can never get injured while playing a game in dynasty mode. I'm big on gameplay and running a franchise. That didn't work so well in live 09. The association mode and gameplay in 2k10 seems far superior to that in Live.Comment

Re: Live 10 vs. NBA 2K10
I bought into the hype and pre-ordered Live with much excitement, but the more I played the demo and watched videos people posted of the final version I just couldn't do it...game is STILL at least a year away. Bad defense, no in game injuries, a questionable dynasty mode and some just horrible looking sequences at time. I was really wanting to play something fresh this year, but with limited funds I have to make smart purchases and it's become obvious to me the smart play is still 2k10. Changed my pre-order this afternoon

Putting Ben Gordon on Detroit was an epic fail, my Bulls owners have failed me for far too long.Last edited by michaeljordanjr; 10-02-2009, 09:52 PM.Comment

Re: Live 10 vs. NBA 2K10
so far i've seen a bunch of vids and played the Live demo (ps3 owner so no 2k demo yet)
its obvious what the problems are in each game that i'd try to fix with sliders
2k's issues:
- too many putback dunks
- alley oops too effective
- fg % needs lowering (easy to fix)
- help defense toned down (fix with coach's sliders probably)
- more fouls/free throws
live's issues:
- lower the defense awareness to allow more drives to the cup.
- blocks need to be toned down
- more fouls/free throws
- too many turnovers in paint (I know its to prevent cheese but its a bit overdone)Comment

Re: Live 10 vs. NBA 2K10
i think the problem with free throws (2k at least) is that the only blocking fouls are attempted dunks/layups, in real life when someone gets beat they may get too physical to catch up and get called for a blocking foul
think about it there are hardly any deadballs I know in real life there are tv timeouts but in 2k you can go so long without stoppage in play if you wanna make a sub you pretty much have to call a timout
are there blocking fouls like that in Live?Comment
