Bottom Line: Live 10 or 2K10?

    What's up guys,

I don't know about you, but in my mind both games are looking great. I have been playing 2K ever since 2004, but this year there is a lot of confussion on which game to get. If you are like me and you are on the edge trying to decide which game to buy then I just wanted to ask you all, which game are you leaning towards getting?

After playing both demos I like both, and plan on getting both. I'm going to get Live on release date though just cause it's fresh and I love those controls. Then I'll get 2k a month or two later if not earlier. On 2nd thought I might try to get both if I can, because I can't wait to try out the my player mode.

Ray I am on your same boat. I actually can get Live (maybe) as early as tomorrow, so that is the big reason why I might be getting both because I can get a fresh basketball game early this year. 2K without a doubt I will be getting on the midnight release at Walmart this upcoming Monday.

      Man, I can't wait.

I'll be getting both. I'm still waiting on the 2k demo to download. If it's stellar, then it'll be a day one, alongside Live. If it feels like more of the same, then I'll pick it up a month or two down the road. Live is my day one purchase this year.

Hoping both are stellar, even though the wife is hoping 2k is more of the same, so I don't go out and lay down $120 in a day on games, lol.

Lol, yeah same here. I hate trading in games, but I might have to if I don't want to wait a little bit longer for 2k.

Can't go wrong with either game this year, but I'd give the nod to 2k this year unless there's some patch that prevents bigs like Gasol and Bynum to attempt fancy layups (pro hop and euro step).

I feel that both games are going to be great this year. I'm only getting 2k10 though. To many great games out there to be spending money on two basketball games.

I will get both games this year. Live got much better than last year but still has things to work on like post/inside game and 2K is the game I been buying for years now so I will buy it also.

That's how I feel right now. I haven't played the 2k demo either but, I'll figure out if I'm dropping $120 on game day.

I'm buying Live first day (or earlier if I can) and I'll be gameflying 2K for a bit to see if I want to buy right away.

I'm really liking Live it still has issues but there ones I can look past now that I've gotten better at the game.

2K10 all the way! NBA Live still has alot of growing to do...and that is just to catch up to 2K....I do believe NBA Live will be a good game...but just not great

For the first time in three or four years I'm torn between both games. 2K has been so much better than Live the past few years that I wouldn't even think about Live. **** I wasn't even considering Live this year until I played the demo on the PS3. I loved the control I felt over the players and it was pretty damn ****, it reminded me of how much fun I had with Live when they first introduced freestyle control. The presentation isn't the best but I just want a game that I'll be playing into the summer of next year. 2K has presentation locked down this year especially with the NBA Today commentary stuff. The My Player mode is pretty cool too, even though I'm not that big of a fan of the Draft Combine. My main problem with 2K is I never feel like I'm really having full control of the players. I have never liked isomotion going back to when they first introduced it, I just never liked it. The mid-game range in 2K was also kinda iffy to me last year. It was mostly all threes or all dunking especially in online games. I love franchise modes but I don't think I've ever been able to complete one in 2K because the gameplay just really isn't that fun to me after so long. It's more realistic but it's just something I can't quite put my finger on. I'm not in the position right now to drop 120 on video games so there can only be one. I wish EA would give the green light to OS to give out the Live info and/or 2K would release the PS3 demo this Thursday. Those two things would really help me come up with a decision. Right now I'm leaning more towards Live but it's hard with all the 2K info we've been getting thanks to those who got the game early.

                            2K10 for me.

                            I just don't like Live.

There's not going to be a right or wrong answer this year. We are getting two very different and as far as I can tell very good basketball games. Unless you're a complete nitpicker and complain about everything this is going to be a great winter for basketball games.

As for me, Live will be my day 1 purchase, 2K will probably come down the line when I can get it for cheap.
