You're just going to have to spend time every day working out your legs. Do squats, hand cleans, lunges, or even just jump as high as you can over and over again.

Also, check out some pylometric work outs and try to do some of them occationally. Here is website that has some.

Running can help make your legs stronger, and might help a little bit. Those pylometric workouts will help more because they help increase explosiveness and focus more on the muscles you use when you jump.

I wouldn't wear those when doing the pylometrics, but then again I've never used them before.

I'm sure there is something around the house that you can use. I usually use my fireplace or something else. Any solid object will do. It doesn't have to be super high. Anything 6" or so will do.

The workouts listed that don't need the box will help you out as well, so try doing those along with the calf raises. You might want to look up the squats though, because lacking leg strength can be a bad thing if you're trying to do pylometrics as well.

Here is another website with a few more exercises you can check out.

Keep working out the legs. I bet in a few months (unless you get lazy) you'll be throwing em' down with ease.

People call me " 6'4 for nothing". And dont tell me dunking is not important because its not but I wanna be able to dunk. Thank you in advance.
I can relate. I'm 6'5". I was very athletic my whole life. I had gone to basketball camp in the Poconos 2 years in a row when I was in my teens. When I went to High School, made the Freshman Team and then my Sophmore and Junior year played again. The coaches let me practice and scrimmage with the Varsity Team, of which I actually felt good. That was a big deal for me and I felt priveledged. I have heavy feet and could not jump. I was a good shooter and rebounder but could not dunk. What my coach had me do at every practice was to stand sideways against the gym wall and keep jumping as high as I could as well as reaching as high also. Unfortunately that never did help me.

I am 6'3 and I couldn't dunk. I had long arms and I could grab the rim with both hands with one step. I never cared about dunking. I could block shots, rebound, but I couldn't care less about dunking.

Otherwise, we would say that Steve Nash/John Stockton (and...many others) can't play and should have worked at an office. If you're 6'4" and can't dunk, that probably means one of these:
                        1. That's your genetics (but let's not discuss it too much because the 2K rules ban it).
                        2. You havn't worked on your leg muscles enough.

There are programs/drills to strengthen your legs, just be careful because some of the drills may hurt your knees.

By the way, take your age into account. If you're close to 30, I wouldn't start working on it. Too late for that.
Nash and I believe Stockton COULD both dunk, I've seen Nash do it\, at a team shoot around in Toronto.

Try calf-raises and other jumping exercises to improve your leg strength. Also you need to work on form. Make sure you fully extend your legs and arms after exploding of the ground. Most people get more air by taking of one-footed and dunking with one hand.

This worked for me. I'm 6'2, and I can do a bunch of different dunks now.
