Forget it. Concentrate on building a family, or doing something good.

If you can't dunk and never could, you're wasting your time. The only chance you have is if you grow an inch or so more, or your arms get longer.

All in all, worrying about whether you can dunk or not is silly. Are you planning a career in basketball? No?

Then drop it and focus on your life.

Well I'm glad I'm not that tall now, because I believe that being tall has some downsides: having bad feet, sometimes not have good athletism. (teens)

I'm 5'7 and 17 and I can touch the rim. I'm pretty athletic and have a good vertical. So, no offense thats pretty bad when your 6'4 and can't dunk, and all I need is a couple of inches.

Tip: Believe it or not but i'm pretty sure you can improve vertical by jumping on a trampoline. I know you may be to old for that, i'am too, but when I was in middle school i use to do it all the time and i'am pretty sure it works.

Simple answer... Buy a jumprope and use it OFTEN. Air Alert helps, but it will hurt. I quit after 8 weeks. Do a lot of running. -btw- Most people I've seen that can't dunk are jumping wrong. Watch some videos and pay attention to how different dunkers take off. Start on a 9 foot rim and work your way up.

If you are trying to get your vertical up so that you can dunk, this article covers different ways you can jump higher, tell me what you think.

                  Re: 6'4 and cant dunk

It's OK that you can't dunk, I have a single digit vertical and I played soccer for 5 years so my legs were strong, but I didn't work on jumping form. So even if you have WSM-Worthy legs, you can't dunk unless you work on jumping form. My advice is this: start on a short rim to instill confidence and work your way up.

And to the person who started the WMCJ joke: We can't jump, but we can swim.

                    Re: 6'4 and cant dunk

I had a buddy that was 6'9" and had the vertical of a table. he couldnt dunk for his life. i felt bad for him cuz he was just tall and skinny and ppl always made sure he knew he couldnt dunk.

Im 6'5, out of shape, but can dunk off one foot pretty easily. I hurt my knees in soccer about 7 years ago and somedays they just hurt and i cant jump much at all. But, on the days im feeling good, I can do a reverse dunk. Im hoping to go back to my hs weight from a little over 2 yrs ago, which would require me to lose about 20-30 pounds (damn college haha, even though i gained muscle as well, i also just gained weight), and then ill go for 2 handed and stuff like that.

But some ppl just cant jump. it happens. With what the OP has said, I feel like he should be able to, but maybe gain some muscle in your legs and then you should be able to easily. If I can dunk, I feel like 98% of people my height give or take a few inches should b able to as well

Is it possible for someone who is 5' 8" to dunk? I know Nate Robinson can dunk, and he is 5' 9" - what would I have to do since I am much shorter than 6' 4"?

You need to start believing that you can fly. Think about it every night and day.

Can anyone please give me advise or exercises for me to succeed. People call me " 6'4 for nothing". And dont tell me dunking is not important because its not but I wanna be able to dunk. Thank you in advance.
I'm nearly 6'2" and barely could dunk on a 9' room - so in many cases you have it or you don't. How old are you?
