It's doesn't have to be a homerun. You need to lay a foundation to show the consumer were the game is going.

...so people can complain on message boards every year that the foundation hasn't changed much.

Seriously, give the consumer what they want!

Please just give me 2k8 player controls and some decent graphics and I will be happy.

I hate doom and gloom about video games, but basketball gaming this year just wasn't fun.

You touch on an issue that seems to divide OS. It seems like most 2k fans here actually PREFER the "on-skates" control. To them, it makes the players feel "weighted" and "realistic" and helps "prevent stopping on a dime cheese."

But I'm with you bro, and it seems like there are quite a few of us who don't like that style of control. For example, in CH2k8, your players aren't "on skates" nearly as bad as they are in 2k10, and yet, I don't think CH2k8 is "totally fake" or "super cheese prone".

I played CH2k8 just yesterday and I was blown away by how FUN it is compared to 2k10.

You know what I mean? That's my biggest gripe with 2k10... every year it gets harder to do simple things like move to the play-indicator circle with your PG, or pull up for a quick three and actually be behind the line but not a mile behind it.

Every year 2k tries to make the game more realistic by taking control away from the user. It's basketball, not a flight simulator.... come on....

I feel like if 2k doesn't change this path... NBA 2k20 will be a turn-based text-prompt game, haha, with pop-up windows with multiple choices. "Do you want to: (A) Drive, (B) Pump Fake, or (C) Pass."

It's time to get back to basics. The game should be fun on a very basic level; just moving your players around should be fun. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario (this is a tangent, haha) said his vision for Mario 64 was that the game could have been just an empty green field where all you can do is make Mario run around, and that would have been enough. No stars, no goals, just controlling the character, and it still would have been fun.

I want a realistic basketball game, but not if it comes at the expense of it being a good video game. 2k10 plays more like a chess game (I mean that in a bad way) than a video game, player controls are just garbage. Regressive garbage.
