What the hell are you people talking about?

    ITS THE SAME EXACT GAME!

Look at the first play of the game...Lebron basically "walked" in the paint untouched.

KVH missed a shot 1 inch from the basket.

They still throw lob passes when they are 2 feet from each other.

The no look pass from Newble was the dumbest thing ive ever seen.

Dajuan Wagner is skinny and looks like Gilbert Arenas...i mean come on.

Microsoft did nothing to this game but added a roster update and put in new uniforms.

      uh...lets see,
      so far...
new arenas, new passing, new shot animation, improved faces. id does not need to change gameplay much. why change good gameplay. if they fix the oreb and fouls , they have a great game based on 03 game.why dont we wait and see which game is best. i hope live and 2k4 improve drastically so that all 3 games are enjoyable, but, their 03 versions did not match id, imo. i would like to know which game you prefer?

            Re: New ID 2004 preview

            ID is terrible to me.

The dribbling animations are worst than Live back in the Genesis and SNES days.

The defenders are like brick walls and you have to stand still to do a crossover. If you so much as tap the defender going to the basket they call charging.

I dont see why everyone is geeked about the new passing...they throw in a no look pass and no everyone's all hyped....for what? And if those are the new ARENAs then Microsoft didnt do nearly as good or SEGA or EA. I live in DC and basked on the area in that Wizards screenshot....they did a horrible job.

Where is the help defense people keep talking about in this game?

The tape CLEARLY shows Lebron get in the paint and no one steps in. The tape CLEARLY shows AI get in the paint and no one moves a finger until the ball is damn near already in the basket.

Im DEFINITELY not sold on the player models.

And will someone please address and try to give some excuse to the previous issues I made in the last post.

There's just no way anybody can tells me this game looks better than ESPN or even Live right now.

                  Re: New ID 2004 preview

If you've played ID 2003, you'd know the AI is very good defensively. However, there does need to be an improvement in blocking shots and having charges and blocking fouls called in the paint, as well as shooting fouls. Yeah, I'll agree that ID 2003's dekes and probably ID 2004's dekes from what I've seen are rudimentary at best, but they get the job done. The AI is very good at driving to the basket, and will recognize any open lane that exists. And unless you're inept at the game, you'll be able to drive to the basket as well, with the RIGHT players.

As for the no-look passes and stuff, they're already in the game. I think the difference is now you have more CONTROL over the type of pass you throw in the game. Personally, I thought the alley-oops were way too accurate and the defense against them wasn't particularly great because the defensive player doesn't try to get between the ball and the player on the receiving end, he goes up to swat at the ball AFTER the person catches it. That's one of the things that bugged me, another was that more passes should go out of bounds, rather than directly to the other team. Especially crosscourt passes and passes when doubled and stuff.

I'm not too worried about ID 2004 though. I loved ID 2003, because its gameplay was the best of all of the NBA games last year as far as I'm concerned, so unless they've dramatically changed something (rarely ever a good thing, IMHO) I expect an even better experience this time around.

                        Great find

Looks very cool. The stadiums aren't ESPN standard, but they are MUCH improved. Should be great.

To the kid saying the defensive AI is bad...play the game first, the AI in 2002 and 2003 adapts...and I am sure 2004 will also.

If your still playing 2K3...try a pump fake or a double pick...or hey, try and wait for a double team to come when your SG has 65 points...and then tell me how good the D is (not)
