    Re: New ID 2004 preview

    Mike,
Welcome aboard brother. I also have a few questions for you if you don't mind.

    1) Can you pass out of a dunk/layup?
    2) Can you change your shot in mid-air ala NBA 2k3?
    3) Are the dekes better this year?

I will stop with those, but expect more... Thanks again.

      Re: New ID 2004 preview

Thanks for the welcome. I actually like Operation Sports. These guys were in the same XSN Media Tournament as me. I never got to play them, but I kept up on the stats, these guys are good.

Ok, here are the best answers I have right now:

      monkey:

      1) Crowd sounds are still early, but they are reactive. And dolby digital, which is always a plus.

      2) The arenas are ok. I do like the fact that unlike NFL Fever, the crowd moves and cheers, and independant of the cardboard person next to them. To be honest, NBA 2K3 was a hell of a good looking game. In fairness, while High Voltage is a solid developer; they are no Visual Concepts. No one really is.

      Ok, wtferrell

      1) So far no passing out of layups or dunks. And I actually never noticed because I never do it. I only have so much hand-eye coordination to go around. I know you can't do it from a jump shot.

      2) I have not noticed whether or not you can change your shot mid-air. Again, not something I do regularly. I do think that is a Sega-exclusive feature though. Kind of like taking a charge in ID. I don't know if Live has that this year, but taking the charge is something I can really make use of against online opponents who do nothing but drive the lane every single play.

      3) I love the dekeing in ID 2004. It's not as good as EA's freestyle controls, but it is effective and totally usable. It defaults to the right stick so you can move and deke at the same time. Dekes moves include fakes right and left, behind the back dribbles, and a stutter step. I'm digging it.

            Micheal,
Thanks for the answers. Any chance we will see more videos here in the next day or so?
Also, did you notice any new dunks or layup animations? I know you can change your shot in midair in live, and 2k3, and I hope they add this for ID. As well as the ability to pass out of a dunk/layup.

Well, I am going on vacation tomorrow for the weekend, so chances are no more videos for the moment.

BUT, since other bigtime websites have been doing things like that, I was planning on starting to make video updates for our readers. And since you asked, I think I can accomodate. Middle of next week ok? Anything in particular you want to see?

If possible can we see some of the new options for franchise modes and in-game options for offense and defense. If you could just get some screens that'd be great. Thanks.
