V the CPU the absolute key point that seperates ID is that the AI ADJUSTS.

You pentrate a lot...it changes. You go to one guy, it doubles.

Also, teams have varying styles...the C's play different D to the Spurs.

You'll need 20 games before you appreciate this.

Try the game and then comment perhaps?

All I can say is, everyone here whose given it 20 games has loved it.

Up to you...if you want fun, go with LIVE IMO.

Analysis of game owners:
ID

Out of the 2,000(figure twisting) people that have an XBOX in this country(me included), only 100(figure twisting) of them have ID2003. The owners, thus, tend to overdefend their game as it becomes kind of like a cult classic. They know the flaws of the game, but ignore them as it is their baby. They don't care about converting other gamers, but they feel superior to other gamers because they have ID...
(Wake up!!!)

NBA 2k

NBA2kers, on the other hand, think graphics alone will save the world. They overdefend their game because they are aware of the potential of the title, and are afraid of it being cancelled due to poor sales. That is why they try to convert Live(rs) and ID(ers). They ignore the flaws of the game when convincing another gamer, but when alone at home, they yell at the game for being so buggy!
(Be honest!)

Live

Live owners have three reasons for owning Live:
1. They have owned Live since the early 90's and don't know any better.
2. They don't know anything about B-Ball and get bombarded by EA Sports advertisements.
3. They think they work at EA and try to sell the game to their own mothers.

For reason:
1. (Don't be afraid of change!)
2. (Sheep!)
3. (You don't work at EA! They are not paying you!)

----disclaimer---
This does not represent the minority of the people who buy all 3 games and actually plays them more than 10 hours before determining which to keep.

Re: ID2004: T-Mac vs LeBron

Well, that's a fairly accurate analysis. Sort of. I play all three, and I recognize the flaws in all of them. To me, ID 2003 is the least exasperating because it actually plays good basketball. The others don't. As a result, I'm willing to forgive its flaws more than I'm willing to forgive the faults of the other games.

I believe reviewers are dead wrong about the ID franchise and they don't have a clue about AI, so I just feel it's important to spread the word that they're wrong when they say, "nothing's changed" and stuff like that.

I'm also sick of the gaming landscape today where graphics are the number one priority and gameplay is down somewhere at number 3 or 4.

Games don't tend to improve, they just keep adding features, and customers keep blindly buying them, hoping that by some miracle the actual problems with previous games will be fixed in the new version, but at the same time, they hope that these games are dramatically new to justify the money they spend on it. Can't have it both ways, IMHO. Either you want improvements or you want changes. There's a big difference between the two, and I don't think most people realize that.

Is it any wonder that few b-ball games have actually had proper off-the-ball movement when that should be a key feature in b-ball games by now? Game companies and gamers are too focusd on the graphics, the user interface and just keeping realistic stats. Problem is, you can have realistic stats and the game still won't play the right way.

The last B-ball game I played that was incredible was 2K2 for the Dreamcast, ever since everything has been average & definately not worth any purchase
