A lot od people here would like a combo of all three games as their 'ideal' NBA gaming experience. To not argue / debate within the context of all three would be naive / idiotic...

And last time I looked, these were discussion forums?

Some games have perpertual errors in them...so NOW is the time to discuss them and, hopefully, a producer or two will read the forums (as they claim) and think "hell yeah, we could do with some cutters and ball movement (ESPN) or fark some atmosphere would be nice (ID) or hey, the fellas want a slowed down game (EA)"

Saying if you haven't played a game then shut up is stupid when we are discussing a SERIES, where trends have developed. Maybe you don't have the capacity to assess over time...?

Agreed that we don't need the name calling and personal attacks...

It's going to be pretty easy to see that ALL THREE games will satisfy their core audiences this year IMO...because people know what to expect...and part of that comes from discussing things like vids and trends from the series history.

Exactly...and, just to balance it so the bloke doesn't call me an ID diehard or something equally stupid, you can't play ID and not notice how crap the atmosphere is compared to 2K.

How are we not meant to make comaparisons ? When I play ID Reggie Miller and other guards cut off screens all day, but in 2K they stand at the three point line like zombies...am I meant to not notice that?

Id ID2003 the crowd gets about as excited as a lawn bowls convention...how are we not meant to notice how crap that is after playing 2K and feeling the atmosphere?

It's natural to compare...and to wish / hope / pray ONE game gets everything right.

It's funny how people say your a MS / EA / VC fan if you post fabourably...personally I'll be going with whichever one gets the most things right and has the least major flaws.

Actually I didn't even read anything from the Tip Off post so the monkey comments was basically just a coincidence. But if you believe starting flame wars bout games that haven't been released as of yet claiming this game is the best isn't a tad silly then post ahead. Its no problem posting your thoughts on a game or comparing but once you kill the cow there is no need to beat it. Like I said I do understand and agree with the suggestions about the games but once we state them must we rush to the first thread about the game to post them again. It is my and your and everyone elses God given right to express our opinions but how can you make an opinion on a game that you haven't played or on the last year's version as a reflection on how its gonna be (play ESPN and then 2k3) its like they were made 5 years apart.

I hope you find the game that gives you the most for your dollar as do I hope the same. But once we find it and compare it lets enjoy them for their qualities not for the lacking qualitis of the game we didn't choose.

Not that there aren't some great posts/comments/suggestions made that I think SHOULD be listened to, but the same guy that posts something half-*** intelligent generally turns around and posts something inflammatory and immature a few response later in the same thread.

It probably has something to do with the fact that the average age of everyone here is about 14.

And if a big company like Sega, Microsoft or EA is getting their game ideas from a bunch of Junior High Schooler's, we're all in serious trouble.

Can't agree that 2K3 to ESPN is a 5 year jump...simply because the AI engine looks the same. To fix a lot of those issues may mean ripping it up and starting afresh. Personally, Ii'd rather VC did that then just continue to refine the graphics.

That's just me though...I know a lot of people really get off on the new graphics + presentation, so all power to them and I hope the game rocks.
