Sounds like you should be able to make another strong run to the NCAA's with back to back appearences are you thinking about using it to propel your coach on to bigger and better things or do you plan on staying at Elon for awhile?

Currently in year 25. I won my 10th National Title (3 with Saint Louis, 3 with Iowa, 3 with UCLA and 1 with LMU) took a year off and simmed the season with LMU winning a 2nd National Title, then took over at Cal-State Northrige (my current season) I just finished up Big West play and won the regular season. Going into the Big West tourney I am projected to be a #5 seed. My team is lead by a 6'11 SR Beast in the middle and a 5* AA PG whom I landed in the offseason last year after taking over, who is avg over 14 ppg a game for me and looks to be a lock for FOY. The SR C looks to be a lock for Big West POY as well.

I will have more on this legacy later. but for anyone who wants to follow along there is a link on the bottom of my signature.

I plan on staying at Elon for a while unless Maryland comes calling with a job offer. I might leave after 10 years or so though.
        NFL- Baltimore Ravens
NCAA- Maryland Terrapins and Navy Midshipmen

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I just played the most intense game of my life. (warning looong)

First a little background. My first season of a closed legacy with Dartmouth. Less than a month ago Yale beat me 91-99 on their turf. I was getting destroyed in the 1st half that game, their zone defense gives me fits since the only player on my team that can hit 3's with some consistency is my pg/sg Mosley. I adjusted my plan and pushed the ball upcourt every chance I could get trying to score baskets before they could set up their zone. The plan worked and I made a huge comeback even leading at one point but I ended up blowing it near the end, but I had their defense figured out for next time.

Second last game of the season. I'm at the top of the conference at 10-2 while Yale is 9-3 for conference play. I assume if they win they would get the tie breaker over me for a tournament bid (sorry not familiar with ncaa ball). I get homecourt this time, going in I was confident i would take it since i knew how to beat their zone. After the first half I'm trailing 36-51 lol. I up the tempo even more trying to initiate a fastbreak every possesion and also begin full court trapping fulltime. I begin to claw my way back using this strategy picking up a few steals here and there while getting to the line, fortunately the J was finally falling. At the 9 minute mark (15 min halfs) the score is 53-62 after their C, Kyle, nails a jumphook plus the foul. We answer by nailing two 3 pointers in a row by Alex barnett and Mosley, score is 59-62. Yale counters, their sharpshooting SF, Pinick, hits two jumpshots and caps it off with a layup off their fastbreak which also draws the and1. I'm now down 61-71 with 6 minutes to go. My team starts to rally led by a Mosley 3. We trade baskets and then their star player Eric Flato takes over and starts dropping dimes like crazy leading his teammates to easy layups, score is now 71-77 with 3:46 left. Barnett takes over at 2:12 he drives for the layup+1, then right after off a Mosley steal he streaks down the court for the best dunk I've seen in this game, just destroys Flato who also gets called for the blocking foul, the crowd goes nuts. He then follows this up with another steal and drives in for another layup+1 at the 1:41 mark. Score is now 82-77. Yale answers with a 3 pointer followed by a layup from Flato to tie it 82-82. Mosley replies hitting a open J, 84-82 28 secs left. Yale kills some time setting up their play, Flato drives and then kicks it out to his open teammate just inside the 3 pt line for an open J, he misses! From outside position their C snatches the rebound right out of my 7 footers hand at the apex of the rebound, gathers and banks in the layup. Only 2 secs left, overtime. 84-84.

            OT
Off to a goodstart getting the first points off a Mosley J. Yale answers with 3 straight baskets, capped by 2 FTs from Pinick. We trade baskets and the score is 88-94 with 2:24 to go. Mosley takes over capitalizing on their zone D hitting back to back treys, ties it at 1:44. We take turns playing lockdown D on each other and no one scores, 2nd OT.

            2OT
Same pattern, yale takes control and I'm playing catchup. Score is 100-106 at 1:42 mark. My unsung PG Sanders plays hero and gets a layup+1, then he follows with a steal and caps it off with an emphatic dunk tieing it up 109-109 with 38 seconds left. Flato kills the clock a bit then he blows by my pg but is met by my C, he then dribbles behind the back losing both my PG and C for the layup. 109-111 with 9 seconds left. I bring up the ball with Mosley who passes to Barnett, tries to drive but is met by 3 of Yales zone defenders, he kicks it out to the wideopen Mosley for the 3, he makes it!!! but damn his foot was just touching the line! Triple OT 111-111

            3OT
More of the same, we trade baskets and the score is 122-123 with 1:23 left. On a driving layup by Barnett we take the lead 124-123 with 39 secs to go. Yale is forced to foul, Mosley converts and we're up 126-123. With 7 seconds left Flato takes a 3 with a defender in his grill, the shot hits basket but is no good. Finally we take it! 126-123

            Boxscores

            Dartmouth
            D. Mosley (SG): 51 points and 4 steals. 18-40 fg, 9-20 from 3

Opening season with Long Island I started out 1-10, went to 7-10 and now I lost to Quinnipiac.

7-11 with 11 games to go.

Year 3 with Saint Francis (NY). Sitting at 16-6. 3 very winnable games left, plus 4 games against "good" teams. I should win 20.

Sitting in 2nd place in the conference though. Monmouth is undefeated in conferene play (beat me by 3) while I have 2 losses.

Should slide into the conference tourney with the #2 seed, having to beat Monmouth to make the dance. We'll see.

Earned a #3 seed in the NCAAs. Beat #14 Northern Arizona pretty handily. I had played NA a few times at UC Riverside, so I was a bit familiar with them.

2nd round, played #6 seed Iowa St. They jumped out on us early 10-0, and really maintained all throughout. Everytime we tried to make a push, they stepped it up and hit a big shot or putback. Just when I thought all hope was lost, stepped up the defensive pressure and forced a few stops, hit key shots to tie it up. Then they drain a 3 to go up 3, but I answered right back. Got a defensive stop, then with the shot clock off, ran the clock down, got it to my big man, and made the basket to go up 2. Their last shot was no good, and NT advances to the Sweet 16 82-80.

In Sweet 16 played #7 Pitt, and was able to win handily even though I turned the level up from AA to MOP. In the Elite 8 (2nd of my career in 4 years), played #5 Clemson. My best player Kashien Adams got 2 fouls in the first minute of the game, so I had to move around my lineup a bit. Luckily, my best shooter, Dedrick Chan, came to play and came off the bench to score 29, going 9-17 from 3-pt range. But Clemson just didn't stop. Everytime I hit a big shot, they had an answer, until finally the combination of my star being in foul trouble and their great shooting was too much. They pulled away late in the 2nd half to win it 98-86 and advance to the Final Four.

                  BTW in the Final Four:

                  #1 BC d. #4 Cincy 86-59
                  #5 Clemson d. #4 Arizona 71-65

                  #5 Clemson d. #1 BC 88-71 to win Nat'l Championship

So the team I lost to won it all. There's solice in that, I guess.

                  Season 4 - North Texas

-32-3 overal record, 16-2 Sun Belt

-Turnaround from 5 wins to 32 wins.

-Won Sun Belt regular season and tournament titles.

-lost in Elite 8 to Clemson 98-86.

Somehow I didn't win Conf COTY. Darrin Horn at WKU beat me out. Oh well.

Now my overall record stands at 95-38 w/ 2 regular season titles, 3 conference tourney titles, and 2 Elite 8 appearances in 4 years.
Just picked back up for the first time in a long time tonight. Playing on MOP now, so it's a bit more of a challenge. Season 5 overall, season 2 at North Texas. Off to 9-4 start. Actually got a few gifts in my schedule. The CPU generated and gave me Auburn and Colorado at home - pretty generous since I wouldn't be able to get those games had I manually scheduled.

I won both of those, but lost on the road to Oklahoma (I had beaten them at home last year). Also lost to 5-5 New Mexico St in my Christmas regular season tourney. Then beat Northern Illinois in the losers bracket before losing to Calipari-led Memphis in an up and down high scoring game 93-81.

Looking to get back to the tourney. It's going to be tougher - conference looks pretty good w/ WKU. Won conference opener now go on the road at Troy before big showdown w/ WKU next week. We finished 1-2 last year and both made the tourney - so I may need to win that if I want to have a shot at an at large bid.

I am thinking of turning this legacy into a sim legacy just for the last 15 years. I would like to see if I could get Coach Young to 900 wins. Might actually be able to get 1000 if I can avg 20 wins which I have done since year 1. Not sure what school would work best to try and get a lifetime contract with, but would love it to be Boise State, so if they open up that is probably where I would go and continue to sim hoping to get it.

Thanks. I have enjoyed it, however to be honest I enjoy the challenge every game, so when I start my new legacy I am going to put recruiting restrictions on myself and I would like to see if I have the willpower to stay at some of the smaller schools longer..

I would estimate that I sim about 10-12 games a year with a 1/3 of them being my loses. If I am rated 10 points or higher then my opponent overall I typically don't play it, however I do my own schedule so unless its a instate rival I typically don't have to many of those opponents.

I use to play 12 minute halfs but but in my new legacy I have gone to 15. This legacy has been on going for over a year. In fact my first post was on Jan 31 of 2009.

Its the only game I play and how I spend pretty much every day off in the winter. I hate cold weather and living in Spokane WA we get alot of it. I have no kids and my wife use to be at work all day. Now that she is layed off, I don't get in as many games

So it only took you one calendar year to play all those seasons?!? That's crazy!

yeah I know its sad. I have no life.

Its not only game I play. I did take a break for like 2 weeks to play Modern WarfareII but thats it. My work schedule is pretty nice. Sunday/Monday/Thursday and a 6 hour shift on Friday 1 week then Tues/Wed Off and a 6 hour shift the next week, then it rotates back to Sun/Mon/Thurs.. I sell cars for a living so this is my escape from reality and our horrible economy we have right now. My income has been cut in half the last 6 months, so I can't really afford to go out and spend money. So its pretty much Hoops and looking for a new job that takes up my days off.
