Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

I finished the regular season with Central Arkansas at 14-11, 10-6 in the Southland. That was good enough to tie for 1st in the league, but I was the 3rd seed based on tie breakers. I put up a great run in the conference tourney, winning 3 straight to pick up the NCAA bid. I came from behind in every game, including 8 down with 5 minutes to play in the championship game. Due to some upsets, I only had to beat the 6th, 7th, and 8th seeds.

I was disappointed when I ended up with the 16 seed in the tourney. Going up against Georgetown, I couldn't stop their 7 foot center, who ended up with 27 points for the Hoyas. I kept it close in the first half, even leading for a few stretches, but they pulled away in the 2nd half for a 72-62 win.

My final record was 17-12. I only lost 2 players, my starting PF and a backup PG. I signed a 3 star PF who was rated 10 points higher than the one who graduated, and I also signed a 2 star SF. Season 2 needs to be big for me, since I will lose 3 starters and 2 solid bench players after this season.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

      UConn dynasty update:

      Record 9-3

      Notable Wins: at Seton Hall

Notable Losses: at Duke, vs. UMass

Without Kemba, I traveled to Cameron Indoor to play #7 Duke and my team played well in the first half. I trailed 6 but my team is less talented, and without our starting point guard. Stanley Robinson had a coming out party, dropping 27. I was running all over them and down by a couple early in the second half, when Scheyer, Singler, and Nolan Smith caught on fire and started hitting 3s. They slowed me down, and eventually took a 16 point lead with 4 minutes left, and cruised to a 17 point victory.

Since I decided to only play big OOC games, I simmed at UMass, and got upset. After this, I went to recruit for the early signing period and got two 4 star small forwards, one 6'6 and a good shooter, and one 6'7 a good slasher. Then I got a 2 star 7'2 player which I really liked, because well he was 7'2. I am trying to get a point guard now, to replace Kemba if he bolts, and because Darius Smith sucks.

Next I went to 6-6 Seton Hall at the Prudential Center. I loved how the crowd was almost empty since the Pirates are struggling this year, and they weren't into the game at all. The difference from a 6th man advantage there, compared to at Duke is amazing. The whole entire game, we played like crap even with Walker returning. I gotta give it to Bobby Gonzalez (in what other game can you claim the opposing the head coach outcoached you?) as he really slowed down the tempo, and gave it to the hot hand Hazell. Hazell dropped 31 on me, as he was nailing 3s in Dyson's face all afternoon. No one was playing good, except Oriakhi, and when he's your best offense your having a bad day.

Down 12 with 4 minutes left, my Full Court Trap press created a couple turnovers in a row, and some Robinson dunks, and Walker lay-ups. I got it to 6, but Hazell hit another 3. I responded with a Majok fastbreak dunk, but then Pope had an and1. I was trailing by 9 with a couple minutes left, when my fastbreak offense really woke up, and my press created more turnovers. Edwards ran the floor very well just like real life, and he got ahead for a couple dunks. I found myself down 7 with a minute left though so it looked over. I got a 3 with Robinson, which he is a decent 3 point shooter. They missed their FT, and Robinson came back and to my suprise hit another. It was a 1 point game now with 7 seconds left, and I fouled. It was Hazell though, so he hit both. I had Walker run down the court, back into Robinson's man, and then gave it to Stanley and let it fly. Swish, with .4 seconds left, and we were headed to overtime.

In OT, I started by winning the tip, and throwing it up right away to Edwards who slammed it. Robinson then hit another 3, and we cruised to a 10 point win, 101-91. Stanley finished with 32, Oriakhi 22 (all of dump passes and pick and roll), and Hazell had 31. This was one of the best games of CH 2K8 I've ever played, and I escaped a huge trap game. I'm back to 9-3 and hopefully on track to make the NCAA tournament.

By the way, I took the updated rosters from OS, and tweaked them a little bit to make the stars much better (Wall, Harangody, Turner are 90) and even tweaked the stars on basically every school (Dyson up to 83, Collins 87, Aldrich 86). Everyone else stayed the same, and I'm shocked at how close this UConn team is to real life. Dyson and Walker are my only offense in the halfcourt with ISO moves, and everyone else is pretty bad. My fastbreak game is very good, but if you force us to play halfcourt, you should win. Our rebounding is pretty bad, as we give up too much offensive boards. Luckily I have a good recruiting class coming in, although no big names, so I think I can bring UConn back to the top soon.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

About halfway into Year 2 with the St. Francis (NY) Terriers.

Sitting at 8-6 (1-2), with a decent shot at finishing over .500 for the season. I need to go 7-8 in the rest of conference play, which might be a stretch, but not impossible. If I can finish with a solid 12-13 wins that'll be a decent season.

Unfortunately we blew two easy games (3 point shooting goes cold) or we're sitting at 10-4. We haven't beaten anyone with a winning record (or even close to a winning record).

The good news is I'm having a solid recruiting season. Already locked in a 2-star, 6'9 power forward. I have a 100%, and the front-runner for a 3-star, 6'6 SF who can shoot the 3 and I have a lock on a 2-star, 7'1 center.

Plus, I'm looking at a few 3-star guards who I think I have a decent shot at.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Still Year 2 with St. Francis (NY).

Improved to 12-8 (5-4) with a good stretch of basketball. Odds are favorable of finishing above .500 on the season, and making the conference tourney. I need about 1 more win to really lock in a tourney bid (finishing top 8 of an 11 team conference), IMO.

With 9 games left I'd say 6 are in the definately winnable category. The other 3 are against higher rated teams with better records. I need 3 more wins to finish above .500.

If I finish at 15-14 (8-10) I might even get a decent draw for the conference tourney. If I finish better than I'm looking at a very winnable first round game. But, we'll see.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Had played a great defensive game the other day against Kansas. At the half the score was 24 even. They held he to shooting 32% to their 28%. Their D was so good, my leading scorer shot 2/8 in the 1st half. Then, after the break with 8 mins to go he lit the floor up making just about every shot he took, foul or not. By the end of the game he shot 9/17. It was a great game and even the blowout surprised me.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just finished season 2 at Dartmouth (all hoopcast sim). Went 25-4 (12-2 Ivy) won Ivy League title and got a 13 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Lost a back-and-forth OT thriller to 4 seed Nevada (30-2) 53-51. Won Ivy League Coach of the Year and had 2 1st team all-conference players.

                Advanced to Coaching Carousel

UCONN opened due to Jim Calhoun's retirement-filled by Mark Few (Gonzaga)

Georgia opened due Dennis Felton's firing-filled by Mark Fox (Nevada)

Gonzaga was filled by John Shulman whose Chattanooga team went on a run in the SOCON tourney (knocked off overwhelming favorite Davidson in the champ game) to get in the NCAAs. I was second in line for that job by the way.

Nevada was filled by my coach Matthew Graves (based on the real-life Butler assistant). After 2 seasons, 44 wins and an amazingly quick turnaround of a program that hadn't made the NCAA tourney in 50 years I move up to arguably the premier mid-major program in college basketball.

Dennis Felton, late of Georgia was hired to be my replacement at Dartmouth. With 5 seniors leaving he'll have a rebuilding job ahead of him. Though if he can close the deal with all 5 of the recruits I was in on it'll be considerably easier for him (4 are at 100 percent).

I hired recently fired head coaches Larry Wright (Grambling) and Derek Thomas (Western Illinois) to be my new assistants.

The Nevada team is stacked with 7 of it's top 8 players returning from a 30-3 (15-1 WAC) team including 3 great soon-to-be sophomores (one of which won the WAC player of the year his freshman season). I plan to turn Nevada into a national powerhouse by recruiting nothing but 4 and 5 star recruits now that I am going to have a bigger recruiting budget and a fertile recruiting ground. I'm excited to get to work. Go Wolf Pack!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Just had my programs first "signature win."

The 12-9 St. Francis (NY) terriers playing at Monmouth (7-15.
Monmouth was 73ovr, my Franies are a lowly 67.

We have a hot first half, shooting 53% and we went into the break with a 9 point lead.

The second half starts fast, first we gain a little lead with a nice 3 pointer from our Soph SF Pernuicic, but Mounmouth SF Travis Taylor (SO. 79ovr) scores 7 consecutive points. We trade baskets, then Taylor hits another run scoring 5 consecutive. Monmouth stays hot, hitting every jumper they take (including Taylor scoring his 14th point in under 8 minutes). Monmouth drains another jumper and gets a small 2 point lead with 7 on the clock.

We go on a little run, 8 straight, before Monmouth nails a couple 3's to pull within 2 with just 2 minutes left.

A JC SO center (Frey, 7'1) who is shooting about 30 percent on the year and is yet to perform a dunk slams home a monster jam to give us a 4 point lead. Monmouth immediately hits a jumper to bring it within 2 points with 1:37 on the clock.

We exchange bricks before Junior PG (and player lock controlled) PG hit's only his 19th three pointer of the season, and his 20th point of the game for a 5 point lead with 12 seconds to seal it.

Re: How is YOUR Career Legacy going?!?!

Open Legacy with UConn. 1st year with OS updated rosters with a few tweaks (made stars mostly 5+ overall points better so they stand out).

                    Record: 11-10

This UConn team is really really struggling. I've lost 4 straight and am 3-6 in the Big East with all 3 wins coming over cupcake Big East teams, Providence, Seton Hall, and St. John's. I played good at Notre Dame, and Gody was a beast. Robinson had a shot to win it with a 3 but it rimmed out for a tough loss. I rebounded with two wins over St. John's and Providence and was looking decent in the Big East. Then came some really tough games. Georgetown barely beat me, as I couldn't close it down the stretch. Then Marquette did the same as Lazar Hayward murdered me with 28. Still I had a chance to win, with my press bringing me back in the end, yet Marquette hit free throws. Then I went to Cincinatti and got absolutely rocked. Deonta Vaughn was on fire from 3, and Lance Stephenson was hitting some ridiculous shots. I mean post up fadeaways from 17 feet out, and banking it off the glass. I almost came back but once again faded away in the stretch. #1 Louisville traveled to Storrs, and their press killed me with turnover after turnover and they ran me off the floor winning by 20.

Then Pitt came to Gampel, where we had a back and forth game. They were mostly up by a couple, but at the end of the game they were up 7 they tried to milk the clock. This is when my team takes advantage with double teaming, as when a Pitt player had an open shot they passed it up. I created turnovers and got some quick buckets. Stanley Robinson had a big fastbreak dunk, and I was up 2 with 7 seconds to go. They inbounded it to their big man McGhee but before I could foul the bad FT shooter, he passed it to Juan Dixon who proceeded to nail both freebies. I quickly tried to score but Dyson missed a contested lay-up, Majok missed a tip in, and finally Robinson tipped it in with 0.8 seconds left. Pitt called timeout so before the inbound I tried to deny the ball. Stanley Robinson tipped the inbound pass, and Dyson recovered it under the basket. By the time Dyson had possession the horn sounded and Pitt had won.

I am amazed at how realistically this team plays compared to their real life counterpart. Walker is very very inconsistent. At the end of games, I feel like he can go by anybody and is a facilitator. But at the beginning he is like a turnover machine, which he is much like in real life. Dyson can score at will, and is a great finisher. He is an inconsistent shooter though, as he can sometimes hit the 3 but most of the time he misses. Stanley Robinson is playing great as of late for me. He is great in broken plays, where if he can get by his first man, he is slamming it. He runs the floor well, and then finishes with spectacular dunks. Unfortunately in the half court, he disappears way too much. My big man are decent defenders and rebounders but on offense they only score off of dump passes or rebounds. Gavin Edwards runs the fastbreak well though for big men, and gives me a couple dunks a game because of it. My bench is pretty bad with Beverly and Coombs-McDaniels not very good.

I've done a good job recruiting for next year though. I have signed a 4 star 6'7 forward with A potential, a 3 star guard who can shoot, a 7'2 2 star center who we need to become a shot blocker, and I am hoping to get a 3 star PG right now. Overall, I'm having a lot of fun. This game is just too much, and it's much better than 2k10 to me.
I will always, always be a Jets fan. But trust me it hurts.

                      Worst record= 0-25
                      Best record= 19-9

Never made it to the NCAA Tourny, been to the NIT once and made it to the SWEAC championship game twice....

Average wins per year is 10...

3 2star players headline our recruiting class next year

Highest ranking recruit was a 3* top 150 player Foward

                      Best player, a 6'4 210 PG 3* transfer from St.Bonie(one year with me as a 80OVR Sr)

In my second season, I am currently 8-3 with Central Arkansas. I have beaten Arkansas twice, Notre Dame, and lost by 3 to #2 Memphis in a game I led until the final moments. My biggest concern is that 5 players are going to graduate after the season, 4 starters and my backup center. Next year could be a very lean year if I don't get a good offer from another school.

quite a few. the biggest school i turned down was Duke(turned it down because i hate Duke). i almost took the Clemson job the season before i left for Michigan. i've turned down USC, Oregon St, Gonzaga and Arizona earlier in my career. i was holding out for N. Carolina but the job never opened up until after i took the Michigan job. I was in love with my recruiting class so i passed on the job.

over the summer i completed 60 years of closed legacy, that was fun as hell, but burnt me out on the game for a while. i came back about a week ago and started a closed legacy with Liberty

it's the beginning of 2016-17 and i'm 201-68 total, still at Liberty

                              2007-08 = 15-15, no post season
                              2008-09 = 16-11, NIT
                              2009-10 = 19-11, NIT
                              2010-11 = 18-9, no post season
                              2011-12 = 25-5, First Round NCAA
                              2012-13 = 26-5, Second Round NCAA
                              2013-14 = 27-6, Second Round NCAA
                              2014-15 = 28-3, Second Round NCAA
                              2015-16 = 27-3, Second Round NCAA

can't break into the sweet 16 lol, last season was my best chance, had an 86 overall, but i drew a 9 seed (lost conference tournie) and ended up playing a stacked Marquette team second round. highest we ever got in the top 25 was around 15 i think.

4 straight years of the second round is good though, i owe it to 7 footers i recruited in the same class, i played them at PF/C for those 4 years, both averaged about 16 pts/8 boards (7'2" and 7'3" respectively). their height led to a lot of upsets of ranked teams.

we'll see how this season goes, i have one senior on the entire team and he's not that great. i'm basically relying on 8 freshmen/sophomores to win.

                                The Citadel (closed legacy):
                                Year 1: 12-17, 9-11 conference (no postseason)
                                Year 2: 6-7, 3-3

I haven't seen anyone running with The Citadel on here and now I can see why. Started 5 true freshman my first year and struggled mightily as they just don't have much talent at all. Began the year 3-10 but finally found a good starting lineup and finished strong. Recruited 3 two-stars who are unfortunately about on par with what I already had. Quite disappointing...

Started 6-4 this year but have since dropped 3 straight due to my porous defense. Hoping to finish the season with a winning record and bring in a 3-star point guard. Will probably stay with The Citadel for 4 years to see all my true freshmen graduate...and then will look for a select mid major job.

Old legacy from 2 years ago was with UC Davis:
                                Year 1: 18-12 (No postseason)
                                Year 2: 22-10 (Lost 2nd round NCAA)

The legacy mode in this game is just phenomenal...love it and love seeing what you guys are doing.
