I wholeheartedly agree!!! This is the most fun I've had with a game in ... well ... maybe forever!

Just picked it up for $20. After I grab some rosters, sliders, etc, I'm set.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I just popped it in again in my Career Legacy and had an absolutely incredible game.

        Charleston Southern (me) vs Radford.

I won 72-65 in a game that I trailed by 10 with 1 minute to go in the first half. Cut it to 5 by halftime, fought and clawed my way to the lead with about 6 minutes left and poured it on in a 3 minute spurt that had me pumping my fist and getting amped like crazy.

The stats were beautiful as well.

I swear....EA Sports can't hold 2k's JOCKSTRAP when it comes to atmosphere, sliders that are indepth and work, and excellent CPU AI.

They should be ashamed of themselves for not being able to do in football (and their own BBall games) what 2k has been doing for years.

If EA ever buys Take Two, I'm gonna vomit.

This is still the greatest sports video game of all time IMO.

Re: This game owns my soul.

I read this thread and went and bought this game .... like 5 minutes later have not played it yet, but I am excited to get started with a subpar team that will not play my tarheels unless its in the dance

Though I hate duke, I tend to pass a lot to find the open man for an easy jumper.

But I also want to be able to run transition like the Tarheels do.

GOOOOOO HEELS... though I wont be playing with you in the game
I doubted you Roy Williams since you only won with a someone else's team... Now you have proven me wrong.

          You have earned my respect.

I picked this up a few days ago, and I'm addicted. I have a career Coach legacy going as Elon, and a career Open legacy as Indiana. Juk's CPUvCPU sliders for Coach and rspencer's Human sliders for each respectively, and I'm having amazing games.

Like others I have read I picked this up again for the PS3 after my 360 died on me. Fantastic game, still love it.

One random question though, I haven't heard any 'three' chants when I attempt a three point shot on the PS3 version that I swear were in the 360 version. What gives?

I am a huge college basketball fan and my son finally convinced me that even at my age -57 - I could enjoy this game. "Right," I said. He got me a used copy of 2K6 and I was hooked!!! I had to retire early from fulltime work due to health issues and there have been some games where I had to be sure my nitroglycerin was in reach! I take the obscure...teams like College of Charleston, Delaware, James Madison and have had some tremendous seasons. With C of C I had 9 overtime games (of course I lost 6 of them) but it was still great.

I am so upset that 2K9 isn't coming out. Don't know what I will do except hope that NCAA09 has coach mode, subs on the fly, etc. that makes 2K so great.....Yea, this game owns my soul two brother.

OMG, I love this game so much. Whoever said that they haven't had this much fun with a sports title since NFL 2K hit the nail right on the head. This game is pure digital crack. I started up a legacy with EIU and I've had some surefire classic games that gives me wet dreams. I dont know what the hell it is about 2K8's gameplay, it just does everything right. The drama and uncertainty of relying heavily on lower 70, upper 60 rated players just adds a new deminsion of intense fun. The developmental training modes are hard as hell with my squad. I've only passed about 2 out 10 so far. And dont let me get started on recruiting. The feeling you get when that semi-decent SR you've been investing all this time with decides to pick another school.....talk about POed. I've always been a fan of manually researching my next opponent and this game has it all streamlined with extras that I didn't even think sports games did.

Sorry I'm late for the party but this game roxers!! And I haven't even dove into its depth yet. Alll I can say is wow.

That is the funniest part about a closed legacy with a crappy team. Your down 3 with :30 to go and you have to decide which 65 overall player you want to take a clutch shot for you.

That's what makes this game so great. And when you do pull off that miracle win, it's something you never forget. Recruiting is also such an emotional roller coaster. I have yet to recruit a 5* kid but I'm sure when I do, he'll be a player I remember for quite some time.

In my akron legacy, it took me 4 20+ wins seasons in a row to get one HSAA and he was ranked 23...prolli wouldnt have got him if I didnt give my coach some attribute points

Yeah, that's what I love too. I also really enjoy the games where I'm using small schools like Eastern Kentucky playing against Kansas and it's tied 10-10 after the first 5 or 6 minutes and then the next thing I know I'm down 30-12 or something like that. I love it. It just plays the way a true college basketball game should.

I have the worst team in the game almost.

WSSU (Winston Salem State University) !!!

Is it possible to change conferences in this game?

some of you guys rely on 70s... I rely on 60s except maybe one person.

Training really does work. My center went from sucking to being a beast in the paint.
