Re: This game owns my soul.

I'm getting back into my Northern Colorado legacy. I'm in year 2012. The first two years I had a losing record and the last two I've gone 14-14. This last year I made it to the second round of the conf tourney but got knocked out by Montana (damn they can hit the three!)

I did some awesome recruiting and managed to land two three stars. I'm starting three freshmen, two true freshmen. My team is very young but I need to get the talent in instead of the 50's that are sophs or juniors. I'm really pumped for my freshman SG - he was initially a PG but I already have a great PG and he can shoot so I moved him to the 2. I also moved a SG I had who is 6'7" to SF because I was lacking in a backup SF.

My first gamet his year was against 85 overall UNLV - I'm 75 overall. I ran pretty well with them for most of the game, but for some reason my roster had a glitch where one of my players was in reserve ABOVE my 10, 11, and 12 guys so I had to run the game with only 9 players - no backup C, so I had to cycle in PF into C.

My starting Center is 73 overall and a RS freshman. I have a feeling he'll be great but he missed a ton of shots. He's 7'2". His predecessor, Prosper Fraser, played for my team for 3 years (7'1") and will go in the Northern Colorado hall of fame for sure.

One of the best sports games ever made. I picked it up a while back but put on the shelf because I was playing GTA4, and MLB 2k8. Then with the release of NCAA I did not get started for a while. I am loving it, started a closed dynasty with The Citadel, talk about building from the ground up. I had a 10 win season my first year, only won 9 games my second year, then in year 3 I had 14 wins going into the conference tourney. With the help of prep talks I won the conf. tourney. I lost the play-in game, but it sparked my recruiting efforts. Season 4 and 5 I was the reg season conference champs. I only planed on staying at the citadel untill I got my first offers but I just couldn't leave some of the guys that i recruited. In year 6 Clevland State offered me 4 year contract and I took it. It really is a kick in the mid section that Choops has ended but hopefully the franchise will pick back up. The dev team for Choops really put out a great product.

Yup, it is college hoops season again!

Just started my Florida dynasty back up in my 3rd season. We were 17-1 and ranked #1 in the nation, heading into Tennessee, who happens to be ranked #2 with a 16-2 record. This game was close for most of the first half, then Tennessee went on a 12-0 run to get a 10 point lead. From there, my Gators just kept chipping away at the lead until it got close down the end. Honestly, this game had the feel of National Title game to it, and it wouldn't surprise me if we met in the title game.

Needless to say, the Volunteers pulled it out at the end with some good FT shooting, winning with a score of 63-58. Here are some of the stats:

          Florida Gators:
          FG% - .426
          3-Pointers - 5/14
          Free Throws - 7/12
          Assists - 13
          Turnovers - 12
          Fouls - 11
          Rebounds - 28
          Steals - 7
          Blocks - 6
          Points in Pain - 28

          Tennessee Volunteers:
          FG% - .442
          3-Pointers - 4/11
          Free Throws - 13/18
          Assists - 13
          Turnovers - 10
          Fouls - 10
          Rebounds - 25
          Steals - 12
          Blocks - 7
          Points in Paint - 30

          Player Performances:

          Nick Calathes - 11 points, 1 board, 1 block
          Chandler Parsons - 13 points, 4 boards, 3 assists (5-15 FGs)
          Marreese Speights - 10 points, 9 boards, 2 assists, 3 steals, 1 block

          Matas Vega - 8 points, 3 boards, 4 assists, 1 steal
          *Wayne Chism* - 18 points, 5 boards, 2 steals, 4 assists
          Duke Crews - 7 points, 7 boards, 2 assists

As I simulated to the next week, it shows me that we are still ranked #1 and Tennessee stayed at #2. If there was one thing I could change about this game, it would be the polls and seedings for the tournament.

Just picked up the game today and all I can say is wow. Played my the first game of my legacy with Duke and I was just amazed how realistic this game plays. With the updated rosters and some sliders this is by far the best basketball game i've ever played. Great purchase. Hopefully now I can land my two top 5 PG recruits and help bring a national title back to Duke.

Anyone who loves college basketball and doesnt own this game should go buy it right now. You WILL NOT be disappointed!

Re: This game owns my soul.

Just started a new legacy with Indiana State, we lost to Butler 63-58 and beat North Texas 78-72. I'm using Koshii's custom playbooks and getting great results.

We had a 25-24 lead on Butler at the half but in the 2nd half we let them control tempo and their guards started killing me. Graves had 17 and Green had 13 with 9 asssits. They held us to 41% from the field, we shot 32% in the 1st half!

North Texas was very balanced but killed me on the glass, it seemed like they always got an offensive rebound. Their bigs had a major size advantage over my guys, but we were able to shoot 53% and survive. They had a sequence in the 2nd half that went like this - off reb, block, off reb, off reb, block, block, off reb, and then we finally got a rebound. It was crazy, especially since the game was tied. They ended up with 16 offensive rebounds.

I'm not looking forward to playing Purdue.

Re: This game owns my soul.

So I just finished my 3rd season at Florida and ended up winning the national championship. My team was an 88 overall and had to beat a 94 overall Louisville squad in the Final 4 and a 92 overall Michigan State team in the finals. Both games I was down at the half and early in the 2nd half. It was very gratifying to get a win, especially when having to go through 2 great programs to do it.

I had full intention to leave Florida for a small school in either a BCS conference, the A10, MVC or WCC, but not one of them had an opening. It was tough to convince myself that I was going to leave as I had locked down my first EVER 5* recruit (#1 overall) in Schafer Sherley. I decided I was going to leave him behind, but as soon as I saw the list of openings for the schools, I couldn't leave yet.

So I will stay and Florida for one more season and hopefully win back to back titles. Schafer came in as [gulp] a 91 overall! I usually go in and edit the All-Americans in the recruiting class to up there offensive and defensive awareness, but I made sure not to touch this kid's attributes because it was too mcuh already. I'm actually thinking about dropping some of his numbers down, but we'll see. He's a 6'10" small forward. When I get on later, I'll check out his attributes to see what he can really do.

I think I've played this game more in the past 3 days than I ever have before. I hadn't played coach mode at all on 2k8, and since I started I don't think I'm going to look back. Playing in coach mode allows you to really view the game and all it's greatness since you don't have to focus on all the controls.

Fired this up last night because I was in need of a basketball game, and played a quick game Notre Dame at Villanova (me) using some updated rosters. Took me awhile to get back into the swing of the game, but it was a lot of fun. I need to rent NCAA 09 to decide on which bball game I'm going to play this year.

I can't get enough of college basketball... played another game Texas @ Villanova (me) and won by 4 points. Close game the whole way, and free throws by Scottie Reynolds iced it at the end.

I have to redo some sliders, because I shot 58% for the game. The inside success is too high for me, but thats easily adjustable.

Just lost a HEART BREAKER to Florida... good thing these are just quick games lol. Played with some new sliders and shot 41% while Florida shot 39%, but made 10 3's including a dagger at the end. First half was very low scoring, both teams under 33% shooting. But wow, was it fun. I love this game. I love college basketball.

TRUE GAMEPLAY ROSTERS v.5 Re: This game owns my soul.

I love this game and have spent 3-4 days doing rosters and i will always dedicate myself yearly to doing rosters for this game.

I downloaded "TRUE GAMEPLAY ROSTERS v.5" from 2k share and Curry dropped 28pts and 7 ast. Couldn't playa zone or else he would've dropped 40pts. When I doubled, he found the open man. I played Griffin (OKL). He put up 34pts. Couldn't stop him cuz his brother looks just like him and wears #32 and Blake wears #23.

I use James Madision (has the best band in my opinion in this game) I lowered some people's ratings and switch them to the Big South and i was able to use them (69 rating overall, in my dynasty) Some teams like Coastal CArolina (Big South) even if the team rating was 50, they would'nt allow you to start a new Legacy with them for some reason
