Re: This game owns my soul.

I cry a little bit on the inside when I think about this game. I'll be honest, this is the first year I'm not really "into" NCAA hoops and its largely because this game isn't out there. There's a reason I don't play sports games anymore... oh well, I'll let people celebrate referees and chain-gangs.

I just think what could have been had they made a 2009 version. With the smoothness of NBA 2K9 added with the depth of CH 2K8 it would have a been a day one purchase, the kind that makes you put all other games on hold

I'm in Yr4 with Wake and have high expectations. Part of me wants to go to a smaller school and start the up-hill battle that is building a team but I love my current set of Demon Deacs.

Who knows where CH2K9 woulda been, personally I do not like NBA2K9 at all, it's an extremely boring game to me and I do not like the controls. About the only thing I'd like added to CH was the cool "falling down layup" and "hard foul" animations. I'm one of the people who feels they over-animated NBA2K9 and it took away from the user control and immersion.

IMO College Hoops 2K8 > NBA2K just in terms of gameplay. As a whole package it's a no brainer for me.

Re: This game owns my soul.

College Hoops is a far more interesting game to me than NBA. Nothing like the NCAA Selection Show in College Hoops- I haven't been as amped in a videogame as I was while I waited during my Michigan franchise in College Hoops 2K6 waiting for my seeding in the tourney. I got a 4 seed and got bounced by Middle Tennessee St. in the first round but it was awesome.

I hope this series eventually comes back- its times like these I wish 2K was more of a heavy hitter financially. I'm getting interested again in the pro game and I think NBA 2K9 is rightfully the king of the NBA game.

There are multiple voids in the sports gaming world but none hurts me as much as this one. It's really a masterpiece.

It was a great game and will be in my xbox for some time to come. NCAA 09 looks good but, nowhere near the depth yet.
            Gaming hard since 1988

I have won like 25 Super Bowls in Madden so I am kinda a big deal.

oh St. John's... I have my own little rivalry going w/ them. In my first season in my St. Francis NY legacy they put a beat down on me by about 35 points, my worst loss in 2 seasons w/ St. Francis (mind you this past year I played both the #1 and #2 preseason teams, Uconn and UNC [Uconn ended up #1 in the country at the end of the year, UNC was not ranked but made the tourney as a bubble team], and I never lost as bad)

then this past year I hung w/ them for the first 30 minutes (well 24 cause I play 16 minute halves) until they pulled away and won by about 20

I just started the NCAA tournament in my 2nd year, managed to pull an 11 seed and i'm about to play against UAB in the 1st round, but I really want my revenge on St. Johns next year

idk what it is about them, but they've given me so much trouble, i want to beat them bad (the fact that my goal is to one day coach at Uconn just helps fuel my passion to beat them lol)

I hear ya on this one. In my 5th season with OSU and I seem to struggle with the same teams year in and out also. I can always count on a stuggle vs Michigan, Illinios, and yes Iowa (not sure why on this one because they always suck.)
However, I regularly handle MSU and Wisconson who are both powerhouses every year.

You can rearrange conferences before you start a legacy but teams do not change mid-legacy.

This game owns me, literally. I'm 3-3 with Syracuse right now. Lost by 10 at Virginia yesterday.

I have to agree here. I love the selection show as well. There's nothing quite like kicking back with a beer or two and watching the whole selection show just to find out if your team made the Big Dance or has to settle for the NIT.

I was blown away by the Selection Show the 1st time I saw it and still get excited by it every season. I don't understand why other games do not do this. A playoff preview show or Finals preview show would be awesome in the 2k series.

Only two things I stop and must watch during this game: season preview show and tournament selection show. I love both of them and make sure to save right before them so if I want I can go back and see them again in case I missed something.

With me, it's freakin' Purdue. I like the fact that I know I can win or lose on any given night. MSU has probably beaten more than other teams, but it varies with how they do it (pounding it in to their bigs, drilling tons of 3s, shutting me down with their D, etc).

Out of all the teams I've played, I have an idea of what to expect, but they tend to vary with how they beat me or lose to me. Purdue is different though. Every single time I play them (no matter how good or bad they are that year) I know that they will play stifling defense and that they will turn me over a ton. I usually get more than double my season average in turnovers against Purdue. I play a lot of pressing teams. I play a lot of teams that have really tight defensive pressure, but no one is as consistent as Purdue at turning me over and shutting me down defensively.
                                Favorite Teams:
                                College #1: Michigan Wolverines
College #2: Michigan State Spartans (my alma mater)
College #3: North Carolina Tar Heels
                                NHL: Detroit Redwings
