    Ehh,

Have you played a closed legacy or just your open one? I suggest trying a closed legacy. I've been doing mine with Northern Colorado and it is really really awesome. I think I'm in year 6, I've played something like 180 games. Really great stuff building up your program and all that.

I have started a bunch of closed ones but never really stuck with it simply because it is so much more time consuming than an open legacy. In closed you have to play every single game, your coaching career depends on it. With UConn in my open one I can sim a few boring Big East games against the cellar-dwellars or skip a lame OOC game. Perhaps I'll give it one more whirl and really take it slow. I do like using low-majors though because you can tell how crappy they are compared to the studs of the Big East. You have to run plays every time down the court and there is virtually no one-on-one ball which is awesome. It's also cool when you get a "star" at that level who's like 77 ovr but still beasts on all the 65 ovrs, lol.

And crques, I should be playing some more tonight so I'll write down my sliders and post them. I'm pretty sure they are someone's set from here with a few tweaks.

Thanks ehh. I'm hoping to start a new dynasty tomorrow so I'll give the sliders a try. The ones I was using before just don't seem right whenever I play now. Maybe it's just me. LOL

Re: This game owns my soul.

I had one amazing game today. It was Wright State vs UW Milwaukee.

I got off to a terrible start, and my two best players were doing terrible. So I bring in some of my backups in hope that when my starters come back in they'll get out of their funk.

My backup SF, Scott Grote, was absolutely on fire. We were down by 10+ but he came in knocking down 3 after 3. I think he had 12 points at half, but he got us back in the game as we were only down by 3 points at half. Since he was so good I decided to keep him in and he played just about the whole second half. He picks up right where he left off but we still do not lead because I play probably the worst defense ever. So fast forward to 1:30 and he has 33 points for the game, game tied. UW Milwaukee misses a shot I go on a fast break pass the ball up to Grote he's wide open for the layup but he misses it! The worst part about it was he put it up short which made absolutely no sense, how do you do that?

I think that completely destroyed my teams confidence(or maybe mine) as UWM goes on to make a few shots while I miss all mine except one and lose the game 66-63.

Now you may think why is this kid not starting for me? Well it's because I have Todd Brown starting at SF and he is my leading scorer and has been for all 3 years of my legacy. Not to mention Brown is a lot more consistent and has full game experience bar. Grote is a junior this season and Brown is a senior so Grote will be the starter next year, but I have to hope he becomes more consistent because I saw him do something similar to this last season(24 points) but then he faded into oblivion. He is 6'7 so I play him at PF occasionally to get him more minutes because he deserves it.

I think I'll feel the same way next year after I lose my top 3 scorers, going to be an interesting year next year to say the least.

I always keep coming back for more with this game and don't see me stopping any time soon. I started my St. Johns dynasty up again. I'm in the 3rd season, knocked off the #9 Florida Gators for our first big win in my tenure and now have #3 North Carolina waiting for us. Can't wait to get into Big East play to see how we stack up with the top conference in the nation.

When the 09-10 rosters come out, I'll be starting up a closed legacy to get back to starting my own career.

There has never been a game that I would play when the new NCAA football came out until I bought this game 2 weeks ago. Usually, I would get a game around March to hold me over until July. Then when NCAA would be released, I would play that until Feb., and if the dynasty is good, until May at the most. This game now owns my soul as it "easily" gets equal run with NCAA 2010 and that is something I never thought would happen. And its nowhere near basketball season LOL!

but I agree. This game is great. Hands down. Imagine how awesome College Hoops 2K9 or 2K10 would have been with whatever gameplay enhancements, animations, and photo realistic faces that were introduced in the NBA series. Would have been stellar.

I totally agree. I have not played a BB game as much as those two games. I played seasons as Indiana, Michigan, Michigan State, Kansas, and Arkansas on that game. ( I made up my own seasons on paper and then did a tournament.)

Re: This game owns my soul.

I finished my 3rd season last night with Wright State(I flew through this season because it was so fun/addicting). I had a pretty amazing year finishing the year at 23-8. I lost in the finals of my conference tournament, but still made the NCAA tournament.

I made it as a 7 seed, which I knew was way too high, as 18 of my victories came in conference and my conference was pretty bad last year(besides me and Butler). I had to play the Miami Hurricanes, which I was hoping I could beat...boy was I wrong. I got blown out 87-64. This was heartbreaking because I had 3 senior starters, two who have started since the beginning of the legacy. They did decent though, as John David Gardner(sr PG) had 9 points and 5 assists. Vaughn Duggins(sr SG) had 13 points, and Todd Brown(sr SF) had 20 points. Miami was just way too good, the absolutely dominated me the whole game and I felt way overmatched. This was probably my best chance I'll have for a few years to make a run in the tournament and I wasn't able to do it.

Now I am without my 3 leading scorers this year, and will have 3 new starters. Scott Grote, my SF, will have to step up in a big way this year. He has shown signs of greatness in the past two years but has never been able to show consistency. My starting PG will be a redshirt freshman who is decent but not a good scorer so I'll have to make up the points I lost somewhere else. Starting at SG will be an incoming freshman who is pretty good, but I think he'll go through many ups and downs this year. My two big men are pretty good, my PF is just on the court to rebound, but my junior center can be a good scorer. He will probably go pro after this year though(he was a 3* recruit my first year, and I didn't think he'd be this good but he ended up having A potential and really good).

So I expect a lot of ups and downs this year, but I'll probably have a good shot at winning the conference as it continues to get worse and worse(at least judging by the recruits some schools are bringing in).

Re: This game owns my soul.

So something sort of funny has happened so far in my season. I've played a former player of mine, and a former assistant coach of mine already. My former player trasnfered away two years ago, and it looked like he wanted revenge as he put up 24 points. Too bad for him though, he plays on Chatanooga who is not very good and I went on to win the game.

My former assistant coach is in his first year as the Hampton head coach. I played them in a pre season tournament which the computer scheduled for me, and it was pretty funny we got matched up together. I beat them by about 15 points, and Hampton isn't having such a great year. I do think he'll turn them around though, because he's a pretty good coach.

As I expected I've had a lot of inconsistencies this year, and my team unity is very low. I've had a few players blow up in one game then just fade into oblivion the next.

I have had a lot of fun times with college hoops, but I wouldn't say it's the best game. I mean, haven't you guys figured out how to exploit the game by now?

Once you 'master' a game then it's hard to enjoy it. I put it down... hmm last year. Really, though, anyone who is going through their first dynasty or who doesn't really understand how to exploit recruiting and/or the AI, then yeah it's awesome...

I got to the point where I only played really huge games. It's fun enough to just sim and watch your school grow. But, like I said, after you get a routine down... it doesn't matter what team you take, you will always end up in the same position. Still, yeah, good times.

Time to retire it, though. Too bad there isn't a choop 2k10 coming out... that is truly disappointing.

and in my first year we went 0-25, year 2 I was 15-15 now in year 3 im 0-3 so far....Recuiting is tough cuz im not winning, 3* star is like getting a 5* player with this team lol

Started playing this game with IU before Sampson blew the team up. Via 2kshare still played as IU's terrible team via legacy. Found the receipt in my game purchased it 11/17/07. Played over 500 games online the past 2 years. Never seen a more complete game. Just saw a tip dunk for the first time. This game never gets boring. It's so complete. I don't think I will ever stop playing unless a new one comes out.
