Re: Interesting things that's happened in legacy.

I'm interested in seeing what teams are powerhouses, dominate, and has won the most championships in your legacies.

For me it's been Miami, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Louisville and Florida. Honorable mentions include LMU, Santa Clara, Cincy, Notre Dame... Big east basically gets the best prospects and best season, but sometimes doesn't show up in the NCAA Tourney. (This year they got 8 in, but none made it to the final four.)

I list Miami because they along with Georgia Tech pull top recruits left and right, but I also call them "heart-break kids" because they've been in the final four 4 times in the last 10 years, but can never win it all.

Florida has won 3 titles, along with Georgia Tech.

West Coast conference is a great conference with LMU, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine getting good recruits and making tournaments.

Atlantic Ten is INCREDIBLE. They had (9) seed St. Joesph make it to the final four against (3) Rhode Island, and in the other final four game it was (2) Colorado vs (1) Charlotte. The title game was Rhode Island vs Charlotte, and Charlotte won giving A10 their first title (I believe, at least on Choops). Not to mention Temple was a (1) seed as well.

My greatest recruiting class of all time! :

Nailing the first four recruits were pretty easy as most of the teams that were going after them surprisingly didn't jump on them the moment the option to offer scholarship (2nd or 3rd week of the season) was available. Had to fight for the number 1 ranked recruit all season against Texas, but now that my coach has an A+ in recruiting and charisma, only Duke can still manage to steal recruits from me.

I just started my 20th season and its looking to be the best yet. I started the season out on fire. After my first three wins we were ranked (23). Then we continued to win and move up in the rankings. I scheduled Clemson' because that's my old team and I wanted to start a friendly rivalry. After the win against them we were ranked in the top ten for the first time with Kentucky (9). We're currently 11-0 and ranked #3. I'm really excited and surprised, because I wasn't to sure about this team coming into the season losing our All American center and not sure if the point guard would have a breakout senior year. But to my surprise my point guard is having a breakout season scoring 16 and fishing out 5 assists a game. My Jr SG is also having a great season average 14. I'm still kind of skeptical because it is early in the season and the SEC is a tough conference but we won the tourney last year so we should be even more set for this season.

Yeah, sure thing. Sad thing, though, is the recruiting class could have been better if I had a couple more scholarships. I only had 5, but there were two other recruits that I was recruiting in case any of the original 5 I signed decided not to commit. One was #17th Ranked All-American PF and the other #37th Ranked Mr. Basketball SG. I'm a little bummed out about that since I would have easily ended up signing them both if only I had two more scholarships, but oh well.

Anyways, here's a look at the overalls and potential for this recruiting crop. I hope I can hold on to some of these players for at least 2 years. lol I think Rowell, Knight and Rose are a lock for at least two years.

            #1 Darryl Petrauskas / 6'7" / SF / OVR:85 / POT: A
            #4 Phillip Rowell / 6'10" / C / OVR:80 / POT: B+
            #6 Glenn Leslie / 6'9" / PF / OVR:84 / POT: A-
            #8 Albert Knight / 6'8" / PF / OVR:79 / POT: A-
            #12 Nolan Rose / 6'5" / SF / OVR:79 / POT: A

Small update: I had a feeling we would beat (6) Indiana since we did it last year, but in a close game. Just like the last game it was a 3 pt shootout, but in the second half. We ended up blowing them out 78-66. The next game I played was an 8-3 Michigan team, we never played them before so I didn't know what to expect... but we beat them convincingly: 93-77. If I wasn't sure before, I am definitely now. This team is LEGIT! We are currently ranked #2 at 12-0 behind a 15-0 Georgia Tech squad.

I played Maryland last night (we won) & they're entire starting 5 played for Long Shots ABL team. I thought that was pretty funny.

Is there a way to go back and look at previous seasons tournaments or so you guys just write it down or remember it?

Remember. Only thing they give you is the last year your conference won a championship under conferences.
I can recall bringing the FIRST Championship to the MAAC conference (Siena). Back-2-Back, 2nd time - UNDEFEATED.

I dont know if theyre brothers or not, but my back up point guard and his brother both played Mint Touch (ABL). They both have Timmerman as theyre last name theyre both from DC and they look exactly alike except my guy has short hair his brother has long hair. The brother ended up going to Georgetown. My guy is with me at Howard (in DC). We've also trashed GU that last 2yrs! I love playing against kids who chose other schools over mine

Update of the update. I finished my season a few days ago and it didn't go as expected. We had an incredible first few months, going from unranked to #2 then eventually stumbling... HARD! We got on a losing streak and eventually lost are rankings completely and finished the season 25-8 and unranked. We were a #7 seed, I believe. We got bounced out of the second round for the second straight year. Oh, I forgot to mention this year was the "year of injuries" for me. I had my freshman SF injured after we had our #2 ranking, then my star SG. The last couple of weeks of the season I lost my freshman SF, the star SG, and my senior PF and basically that capped off my season. The SG was averaging about 15ppg, and my team has been lacking scoring, so I knew it was a done deal.

It wasn't a bad season, actually it was a weird and exciting one. I lose my second *4 recruit I got when I first coached UK (PG), my senior PF (Interesting thing about him, he was the only *3 recruit I had in my starting lineup and it was great seeing how he progressed because he was ranked in the 400's and ended up being a great player for me even though he was surrounded by *4 players on my team.), and a couple of other role players. That SF that transferred from LMU is going to be available next year, I nabbed be a *4 PG, currently recruiting a *5 even tho I won't get him, I'm 3rd on his list and just going to keep going until someone gets him. I few other recruits I'm going after, but don't really see need right now until the end of next season when my SG graduates, because I just got a pg, my sf is going to be the transfer, the sg is a start player and a SR, I got a *4 center last year and I moved the freshman SF to PF I believe.

In the first year of my Stony Brook, 16-seeded IPFW upset 1-seed Rhode Island, and #15 South Dakota State beat #2 Duke.

Also, Missouri State had the number one recruiting class a few seasons ago.

Yikes URI way to blow the #1 seed. My alma mater!!

Anyway in my legacy with PC I have seen Arizona pull off the number one recruiting class two of the past three years and they cannot even sniff the Sweet 16. I have seen the traditional powers and highly rated teams in terms of overall ratings suck. Duke, Louisville, Arizona, UCLA, and Georgetown are all rated 88-89 yet Louisville missed the tourny last year..

Just signed my first *5 recruit since I've been at Kentucky. And I've knocked off #20 GT and #15 Marquette in consecutive weeks and finally reclaim my spot back into the top 25 at #23.

                                Good times at Kentucky!
