Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
Apparently now you have to have an Xbox Live Gold membership in order to download from the media center, which is ridiculous. This must have just come up in the new dynamic update because I could download from it before. If this is going to stay this way, I believe I will dumping this game soon because that's just ridiculous being my roster set I've created is now infected with these dynamic updates.Comment

Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
so everytime i do the dynamic i have to go in and re edit my saved roster. have to change back where they are from and more importantly or annoyingly have to redo my number one freshmen that EA left out of the game. I play with Indiana and as it has been posted on more then one occassion they left the hoosiers top recruit christian watford completely out of the game. i got around this by changing one of the walk on players to him. but every week now it changes him back to the unathletic walk on that he is and changes his look and everything. is there anyway to get an update without it doing this? i mean i thought it just updated the team stats and ratings so why is it messing up my individual ones? and if they can do this to players and change them around why can't they go ahead and do an update with the players they left out as i have heard that he isn't the only one...Comment

Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
Mich St barely beat the Zags and then lost against ]Insert team i forgot here]. Are their ratings the same?
Gonzaga went from unranked to #16, what are their ratings like?
Portland went from a nothing to a legit team, did they get changed at all?
Butler dropped big time, what about them?
You can't look at Kentucky's roster and assume nothing was changed. Look at what has been happening in the real world and compare it to the game.Former OS Editor.

Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
Yes, you should. Just because John Wall's 3-PT rating hasn't changed doesn't mean nothing else did.

Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
You will never ever ever ever ever ever ever see an update that changes individual player ratings based on their real-life performance.
It's a college game, dudes. As far as EA is concerned, the players in the game are fictional, and have no real-life corollaries. If they behave otherwise, they open themselves up to lawsuits a la Ed O'Bannon.
It ain't gonna happen. They'd have to be stupid to do something that so blatantly associated an "anonymous" in-game entity with a real-world college athlete.
Wall could go 4 for 371 from three point land this year. His 3pt fg rating will remain at 90, and you can take that to the bank.Comment

"It ain't gonna happen. They'd have to be stupid to do something that so blatantly associated an "anonymous" in-game entity with a real-world college athlete.'
I think you got it a lil backwards there...I would find it funny as all hell is someone were to sue EA saying that there "likeness"was in the game cuz they have 86 Speed 75 dunking and a 83 mid range jumper rather then being # 34 whos 6'6" 210 pounds and from the state of Kansas !
if there is another meaning for RATINGS UPDATES can I know what it means?Comment

I'm gonna guess that by rating updates they mean the team ratings, like A- or C+ in different categories.
Its one thing to make a guy with the same number and similar ratings. Its another to update his ratings based on real-life performances. Maybe I will be wrong. I will happily eat my words. I just don't think they can get away with that. We will see.Comment

Re: Weekly Dynamic Update Discussion
Player updates is not gonna happen. This from an interview on IGN:
IGN: How do the dynamic updates in NCAA Basketball 10 better the gameplay experience?
Connor Dougan: Dynamic updates provides 3 things that will enhance the gameplay experience.
1. Updated NCAA statistics will be surfaced to the user in front end screens as well as driving statistical info and audio with our broadcast package. Let me give you an example - every time the top 25 is updated these stats will drive the info on the top 25 overlay when seen in game. We also have audio to support when your team rises or drops in the polls. So everything you see from a team stats perspective will be true to life.
2. Updated team performance/ratings. For example if my favorite team starts out unranked and then makes their way into the Top 25 then their ratings will reflect that they are better. We use the Top 25, RPI and records to drive team ratings up and down. It's always a challenge to make a game with 300+ teams relevant post launch and we feel that updating team ratings based on data will keep the game authentic and fresh.
3. Updated team playbooks and motion offenses. We're going to offer updated play and motion offenses to add to your playbooks. So if Michigan State runs a great set one week – you'll see it in game the next week.
IGN: How were you guys able to do this without the feature raising any red flags as far as legal issues and player likeness?
Connor Dougan: We focused on teams and not players.Last edited by Glenn33; 12-02-2009, 10:51 AM.Comment
