Did I misread that article (later on)? He talked about Minnesota and their search for a coach, and mentioned PJ Carlisimo as an option...isn't Sprewell on Minnesota still? Didn't Spree choke Carlisimo while at Golden State? Seems like a really stupid idea to reunite those two again...

Yeah but wouldnt you just love to see it as a reality show on NBA TV or ESPN?

Spree is a FA this year, and I'm pretty sure that Minny will not re-sign him. Cassell is in the last year of his contract, and he'll probably get moved too.

Are you saying that Iverson is routinely breaking plays and doing his own thing out there? OB's system revolves solely around the success of A.I. and does very little to promote team involvement. It's all about feeding off of A.I. and his teammates capitalizing. It took O'Brien 2-3 weeks after the trade to realize he may want to alter his playbook with the addition of Webber. He did very little altering. That Sixer playbook is unimaginative to say the least. Iverson is dribbling around way too much and I do feel they should use him more like Rip Hamilton (moving without the ball) and get a solid PG who can penetrate and shoot the midrange J. Webber could be a better benefit to the Sixers if he was used like he was in Sac-Town as a catalyst for the offense from the high post. O' Brien and Webb bumped heads early on when he got there and OB needs to get that relationship mended and come up with a better playbook.

I agree with everything you said here.

As for AI, he wasn't breaking any plays. He was doing basically what O'Brien wanted him to do. Like you said, that was his playbook...his whole offense. And look where it got the team.

I'm glad we agree P2k. If Adelman becomes available, the Sixers may want to take a hard look at him.

A lot of Sacremento's offensive success has to be credited to their assistant coach, Pete Carrill. I don't know if just Adelman alone would be able to help the sixers.


Anyway, I think Danny Ainge is lobbying to get Carrill on the Celtics. He tried last year and we almost had him. I guarantee you we wouldn't have had any 70 point games in the playoffs with Carrill on our staff and with our talent.

Of course you are going to think that....but guess what....Iverson plays the way he does ...because that's how he wants to play.

Iverson will continue to play his style of ball because the way he plays is the only way he knows. He has to dominate the ball. That's is why Larry Brown made him into a shooting guard. He wanted a point to at least set up the offense first and then get Iverson the ball.

People think that if Iverson had a couple All Stars on his team, he would change. HE'S NOT CHANGING. He is not a player that adapts well to going away from what he does. Look at how he handled that with Chris Ford. Prime example.

Iverson is a great player, an absolutely Hall of Famer...but he is the most difficult player to play with because of his domination of the ball. He needs the ball in his hands most of the time. Players are willing to adapt to him, but he does not adapt to his teammates. He is going to wreck poor Iguodala if he is going to make him just be an alley-oop dunker for his first 3-4 years in his career.

P2K is 100% right in regards to AI's domination of the ball. Kid's been like that since at least High School. I know, because I live in Hampton Roads, VA and I've seen some of his High School games. He dominated the ball in HS, at Georgetown, and now in the NBA.

Granted, he isn't as bad as he was when he was younger, but he still dominates the ball.

Adelman is a great regular season coach,but how many times hadas he had a chance to close the deal and not do it whether it be with the Blazers or Kings...But if he's available,you take him and fire JOB.But that would mean that Philly would have to pay for Obie's contract as well as Randy Eyers,no?

In Portland he ran into the Bulls with Jordan and the Pistons when they had Dumars, Thomas, Laimbeer etc. and of course in Sacramento he ran into Shaq and Kobe. I agree Pimping 100%. Adelman (if Carrill comes also) would certainly help the Sixers form a more potent and varied offense.

Calling Adelman a choker may be a little harsh imo. That year Sac took the Lakers to a game 7 it was not his fault his team shot in the low 60's or high 50's from the free throw line costing them that game. He put that team in a position to win and his team did not play up to the challenge, wilting under the pressure from the line.
