    Shaq's weakness 'exposed' again

Shaq is a great, great player...incredibly dominant.

However, there's always been one element of his game that critics have ignored. That is that he's never had to take and make the big shots in the last 2 minutes of a game.

Due to his poor foul shooting + inability to create his own shot...it's always been Penny or Kobe or Bob Horry or D Fisher who've taken the big shots.

Shaq has never had that 'responsibility'.

Today, game on the line...and, even though Wade was hurting, the big fella didn't take the big shots.

Now...before everyone who can't read jumps in and says "Shaq's my hero"...I am not debating that this guy is the most dominant ever.

However, talk of him as the G O A T is farcical. Absolutely beyond a joke.

He's never had to take the shots that really count.

Unlike Hakeem, Larry, Magic, Timmy Duncan...

    And, of course, unlike Jordan.

I read a book recently of the "top 50 players ever" and Shaq was rated number one...ahead of MJ.

    That's just insane.

The pressure of getting the ball...game on the line...8 seconds to go and you have to make the shot...is something Shaq has never had to deal with.

He can't even be compared to a guy like Jordan as the G O A T.

    Not even close.

    Re: Shaq's weakness 'exposed' again

He probably has 3 rings more than your favorite player so...

It is what it is. Doesn't really matter.

Reggie Miller has taking more "big" shots (as you call them) but the only ring he's wearing is a wedding ring. Same goes for Charles Barkley and Patrick Ewing, et al.

Shaq is not a jump shooter. Doesn't have a patented move to the basket and if he does, he's too old, fat & slow to do it anymore.

He's responsible for the rings that Kobe, Fisher, etc. are wearing so I can't knock the big fella one bit.

Shaq took big shots. He came up huge for the team. Its not his fault the ex-Clipper Dooling plays like an out of control non passing pg, and Damon Jones played 32 minutes to score 1pt and turn the ball over at crucial moments.

Rasual Butler Damon Jones, and Eddie Jones combined for about 4-19.

And noone said Shaq was the GOAT, except AI

Yeah, this is great. It's "Piss on Shaq's Kicks" Time!!!!

Last night he was taking the biggest shots of the game and making them. I think some people are not watching these games right. Shaq has always been the go-to guy when the game is down to 2 minutes. Feed to Big Fella and let him dominate.

i think its hard to make last second shots when the other team is surrounding you forbidding a lob pass

When it comes to free throws, he backs that up a lot of the times. I remember in 2000, against the Blazers, when they went for Hack-a-Shaq, he went made them all and had this big grin on his face after every trip.

Dooling played a horrible stretch of basketball where he completely ignored Shaq and the rest of his teammates as he contributed horrible shot selection after horrible shot selection. My friends and I didn't know what the hell he was doing out there dribbling the ball 20 out of 24 sec trying to be the man.
EA and 2k have the unfortunate task of trying to balance on a tightrope of fun and sim while trying not to fall 10,000 feet to their death. Instead of a safety net waiting down below there will just be angry customers quick to move out of the way and talk of their failure.

Im not even sure he was trying to be the man. He has no poise, and his bball IQ just doesnt seem to be very high.

LOL @ this. Blame everybody but Shaq right? It doesn't matter that he only got 2 rebounds in the 2nd half or the fact that he made virtually NO effort to try and defend the pick and roll or the times that he didn't even try to get back on defense when the Heat(including himself) turned it over.

None of this mattered right? Blame Damon Jones, Eddie Jones, Keyon Dooling and everybody else, but NEVER Shaq.
