I said he could be a defensive player like Bowen, I doubt he'll be the defensive player Bowen is.

Originally posted by 3rdAnswerIf he is part of the defensive player Bowen is, he still has more potential to be better than Bowen. Basden has only been playing basketball since HS or something like that, so he has a lot of upside. In my mind, he'll be a better offensive player than Bowen will ever be. He can play defense, share the ball, and finish at the rim.
I think Basden will be better offensively (though not great) than Bowen and not as good defensively (though still good).

You have to have big expiring contracts for that to be a fatcor and DEN doesn't have that, so (again) unless the new CBA significantly increases the salary cap, Denver wont come close to having the money for Hughes.Comment

Originally posted by 3rdAnswerWe finally worked out Gerald Green, and Bickerstaff was again impressed. However, he really wouldn't say who was better between Green or Webster, but he did say that Green is also worthy of a number 5 pick.
He did this same spiel last year.
I wouldn't take anything he says with a grain of salt at this point. He seems more excited for the draft than the regular season.Comment

That's kinda true, because he hardly has anything bad to say about any player that we work out. I'm getting tired of him making me excited about every player we work out-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

EVerybody does that. GMs, Owners, Coaches or whatever put up smokescreens to try and get the player they want to fall to them by feeding up another player they may have no interest in.Comment

And now I'm back on the notion that there is no need to draft a point guard. Brevin Knight and Jason Hart could hold it down for us-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

Re: Who Has Your Team Worked Out? (Draft)
I'm sick of Bernie's bullish tactics with the Blazers GM. Bernie seems like a smart GM though and he knows what he's doing...
And I'm sorry, 3A, but if you want to make the playoffs as an 8th seed every year and have no shot at a title, than stick with Knight and Hart. If you want to win a title someday, you'll have to upgrade that position. And if CP3 is available at 5, or Charlotte gets the 3rd pick, you must take a guy like Paul who has the potential to make an impact the way Isiah or Stockton made for their respective teams.Comment

Re: Who Has Your Team Worked Out? (Draft)
I doubt the point guard we draft will even be around that long. We're so far away from making the playoffs, so I'll keep Hart and Knight. Both of them play defense and take care of the basketball, and have proved that they can play at the NBA level. Paul nor Felton has shown that, but I'm not saying they won't.
To make the playoffs, we're going to need good scoring from our big men in the East. If you notice, every team in the East tries to win it with guards, but it doesn't happen. Our problems do not lie in the point guard spot.-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

BTW, I think your frontline is set. I like Primo and he played real well. At worst he's a very solid backup center for you guys for the next 4-5 years but He should be able to start for a while, I think.Comment

Originally posted by Vinceanity2k3And Brevin will be 31 soon and Hart is no where near an NBA starting point guard. But I guess we'll just agree to disagree.

And Primo is garbage. He's the worst rebounder I've seen in a while for someone his size. He's a huge 3, and Gerald Wallace is better than him.-Jay Illestrate, Emcee/Producer/Graphic Artist

Jason Hart can be an NBA point guard, I'm not sure how games you saw of him. He plays very good defense and he takeks care of the ball with a midrange jumpshot. What else does he need to do?Comment
