Oh I agree with you, we'll probably draft a point guard. I think Jason Hart will still end up to be a very good point guard in this league, but I doubt it'll be with the Cats. By the time we get good, most of the regulars will be gone except of course Okafor.

I think thre problem is that there is no one else even worth getting picked at #5 (assuming 1-2-3 goes Bogut, MWJ and Green like expected) besides a PG. You coudl reach and take someone else, but that's not a smart move.

I doubt the point guard we draft will even be around that long. We're so far away from making the playoffs, so I'll keep Hart and Knight. Both of them play defense and take care of the basketball, and have proved that they can play at the NBA level. Paul nor Felton has shown that, but I'm not saying they won't.
Why? You have him for the next 4 years and then he's a RFA, where you can macth any offers to him. And assuming you get Felton, he wont want to leave Charlotte so I dont see that as a convincing reason.

Also, Charlotte is putting themselves in a great position IMO. If I was Charlotte, I trade #13 and #5 for #3. Its a lot to give up I understand, but Chris Paul will be a great piece to the puzzle. Then your team will still likely be one of the worst next year, but you'll get a chance to go aafter either Greg Oden (7'0" HS pheonoem) or Rudy Gay (6'9" atheltic scoring SF).

Adding one of those guys and also having 25+ million in cap space to go after FAs (Bernie has said he wants to wait until the 06 offseason to go after FAs I believe) and Charlotte could have a very good and young team.

And, Hart is a good backup. I like him a lot but he's never going to lead any team as a starter.

Cats worked out Felton, Hodge, McCants and Deron Williams. I haven't read the impressions yet though.

I read that McCants pulled out of another workout due to illness.

And Hodge commenced to running his mouth (as usual) about how he would work out anywhere anytime, and you don't have to worry about him... To think I felt sorry for this bastard after Chris Paul socked him in the nuts...

WallyHopp you might be interested, the Bobcats finally worked out Danny Granger.

              DANNY GRANGER • 6-8 • 225 LBS. • FORWARD • NEW MEXICO • SENIOR
(On the workout process) They’re going good. A lot of workouts in not many days just after the season. It’s a long process, but I think it’s going well.

(On his NBA position) Small forward. Probably I think I’d be able to play a little ‘two’ in the future, but basically I project as a small forward. In college, I played the point, the ‘two,’ the ‘three’ and the ‘four.’ A lot of times I brought the ball up the court, so I played just about everything in college.

(On the Bobcats’ workout) It was right up there. You find a lot of them are a little harder than the other ones. The one yesterday in Toronto, that was probably one of the hardest ones. The Laker one was hard, and this one was right even with it.

(On players getting tired in solo workouts) I can imagine. Trying to do all that by yourself, you probably don’t get much time to rest. I’d rather go with three or four other people any day.

They're in love with him. All the reports I've read have the Hornets wanting to trade with Utah and taking Granger at 6. Utah is in love with Deron Williams and he'd fit in perfectly with Jerry Sloan.

                    Trade Rumors

As if this wasn’t already turning out to be the hardest draft in recent memory to project, we’ve been told to expect a flurry of trades to go down on draft night and possibly even the day after the NBA finals are completed that will completely shake up this draft. There are major talks going on between a number of teams and DraftExpress has already heard from quite a few sources about a number of them.

The most popular rumor is regarding a deal that could go down between the Utah Jazz and New Orleans Hornets. The trade would send the #4 pick to Utah in return for the #6 pick and either Kirk Snyder and/or the #27 pick. In that scenario, Utah would draft Deron Williams at #4 and New Orleans would take local favorite Danny Granger at #6. The Hornets apparently have their eye on a PG in the late 1st. Nate Robinson is rumored to be that player, which is consistent with the information that DraftExpress has been receiving lately regarding a number of strong workouts he’s had with NBA teams.

Well, McCants has pulled out of three workouts, right before the one-on-ones. One excuse, he was sick from overeatting, another because he didn't eat anything.

Granger is one of my favorite players in the draft. I really like him.
