What are you talking about? The lakers were 25-5 against the East that year:

    Here is the link: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/standi...l&seasontype=2

      The sentence above is false.

As for Kobe's supporting cast, I wont even talk about Grant who was injured most of the year and has been a contributor for 2. Also, the only reason Wade made out "fine" with those two was because he was in the East. That damn team was only 2 games over 500 and was a fifth seed in the East. That not exactly a great team.

I don't know what outlets you frequent or what experts you listen to, but I was not hearing the Lakers missing out on the playoffs. I heard none of that whatsoever. Even myself, who hates the Lakers, thought they would at least be making the playoffs. And I thought a 5th to 7th seed myself. They didn't even get close.

Grant, I give you that. And I give you the conference deal also. But Odom and Butler isn't shabby at all. Kobe made them look worse. Even Odom was complaining. Alot of the team was complaning. Wade had Odom and Butlet playing out of their a**. I never saw Lamar Odom look so good last year.

And 13-17 this season. So much for the playing in the West excuse.

ESPN had them 9th and SI had them 8th. I would give you the ESPN link but its insider only. As for them coming close, the Lakers were battling for the seventh and eight spots up until the last 20 games of the season. Two things happened: Rudy T. decided he didnt want to coach anymore and Kobe got injured for about 3 weeks.

Honestly, as a Laker fan i was happy as hell they didnt make the playoffs. Now they have the #10 pick and a chance at picking up a good PG like Felton or Jack. If they made the playoffs, they would have been swept by the Suns and had the 17 or 18th pick.

I never used that excuse. That post was a response to KDRE's statement that the Lakers were dominated by the East in 03-04.

I wasnt talking about their record against the east that year... I meant losing to the East in the Finals last year, having a losing record against the East in the reg season this year.

Yeah, I wasn't responding to you. There was the other Laker fan I was telling that to.
