That trade is horrible, for both teams. (assuming the picks are a 1 and 2).
The Knicks are giving up a lot for Curry seeing he PROBABLY has a heart problem. Hes a big guy and refuses to take the test, why would you refuse if youre ok? The Bulls are also giving up too much for Micheal Sweetney, some picks they dont need (they are already loaded with young talent, why get more?) and some junk/contracts the knicks dont want.Comment

They can use those picks as barganing chips to improve their team through the draft or by acquiring proven players that will help them.The Bulls are also giving up too much for Micheal Sweetney, some picks they dont need (they are already loaded with young talent, why get more?) and some junk/contracts the knicks dont want.
And I believe Tim Thomas expires either this season or the next, so getting him wasn't bad. He may be a collosal bust, but he can still contribute with his athleticism and shooting.
Curry doesn't defend, doesn't rebound. Davis has some years left on the deal he signed with Toronto. I believe this year and the next. IMO, Chi won this trade. Sweets is the big component though. He hasn't been given a great chance to succeed in NY, with Rose and Crap-Tay on the team. I think now Tyson can start at center and Skiles can maneouver with either Othella or Sweets at the 4. He can also use Noche and Deng as well.Comment

apparently curry got a 5 year deal...yes 5 years...i dont know the money amount but *apparently* its a 5 year deal (i dont have a link so watever doesnt matter if you believe me or not)
if it is true..new york is really takign a BIG risk....esp. cause curry hasn't submittedto DNA tests etc., they don't know how well his health is going to hold up..
i think new york gets antonio davis too..so they get really deep front court wise, much better than sweetney that undersized jelly bean and tim thomas at SFComment

The Knicks reportedly won't require Curry to take the DNA test. A source said the Knicks recently were ready to sign Curry to a six-year deal worth $30 million-$40 million guaranteed with incentives that could boost the contract to $70 million.
The public impasse led to media commentary about the motives of the Bulls and Paxson. Commentary that the Bulls' general manager -- who acknowledged that the team offered to pay Curry $20 million over 50 years should he fail the test -- took issue with Monday.
The Tribune says AD will be released and come back to the Bulls later in the month.

According to reports I've read, the new contract with Curry has many provisions in it that protect the Knicks if Curry does end up not being able to play because of this.Comment
