Part of that is true.
It was after a timeout, but no punches were thrown.
As for what is going on in Pacers land, here is a article for you:
Point guard Anthony Johnson blurted out what many have thought about the Indiana Pacers as he walked out of the locker room Saturday night following the team's victory over Memphis.
"There's always drama in Pacerland," he said.
The drama got more suspenseful earlier Saturday, when forward Ron Artest said he wants to play elsewhere and that the Pacers would be better without him.
Unless the Pacers grant Artest's wish -- and he didn't help his cause by not talking to CEO Donnie Walsh or president Larry Bird first -- they will have to deal with a player who has disrespected his coach and will likely have to regain the trust of his teammates.
"If Ron feels that way, then that's the way he feels," forward Jermaine O'Neal said after Saturday's game. "We're going to go to war with any guy that wants to wear a Pacers' uniform. Bottom line, if you want to wear it, we're with you. If you don't, see you later.
"To me, to say that, he wants the public to know. I find that a little disheartening to go to the media with information."
Artest's comments came just days after O'Neal said management should think about making changes if the team doesn't improve. The Pacers have won two straight games with Artest on the bench nursing a right wrist injury.
"I expect the unexpected with him," Johnson said about Artest. "If he feels like that, it's unfortunate, because he's a great player. At the same time, the front office has to do what's best for this team."
The Pacers have lost games they shouldn't have. They've had disagreements publicly and privately. But the latest distraction could linger awhile.
The Pacers lose one of the best all-around players in the league if they trade Artest. But keep him and they risk more headaches from a player who has provided a few since they acquired him in 2002.
"I fully think management should do their best at the highest level to move a player that doesn't want to be here," O'Neal said. "If he doesn't want to be here, he's not going to give his full effort. It's already tough enough to go through an 82-game season with so many different problems. The one problem you can't have is anybody that says they don't want to be here.
"We have so many different things going on. We're trying to get guys healthy. Jamaal (Tinsley) has the groin injury. You have guys like Jeff (Foster) trying to get his rhythm back. Guys are here fighting. Ultimately everybody is giving their best to help this team win."
That's what Pacers coach Rick Carlisle wants.
"We've got a committed group of guys that have won two tough games," Carlisle said. "The focus has to be on them. We have an obligation to our franchise and the loyal fan base to keep finding ways to win games."
Artest, who is averaging 19.4 points a game, said he wants to play for a team on which he can excel offensively. He watched the past two games from the bench as the Pacers picked up impressive victories. He said he thinks he disrupts the offense with his one-on-one style. The Pacers are 2-1 this season without Artest in the lineup.
"I don't know why he would feel that way," Foster said. "Obviously we would
have gotten a lot further with him last year. . . .
"He and J.O. complement each other real well. Hopefully this is just a state
he's going through right now. He's out, he's hurt and he feels like he can't play. We all know we need him. He makes us a better team when he's out there."Comment

I think any team has to consider him if they get can get him at a discount. But it only takes one GM to give Indiana a solid package and Bird/Walsh are some of the best GMs in the league.Comment

I would love to have Artest in Dallas, he is a very good player at the beginning of his prime. He will make the mavericks much much better defensively. If we can handleRodman, NVE, etc. we can handle Artest. The Sports Preacher

Re: Artest demands trade - Wants to go to NY
After seeing what JO said, it kind of pissed me off what Artest is doing. Those guys rode for him hard and lost money in the process. Stephen Jackson was the first one swinging in defense of him and now he's turning his back on them. That's cold.
That being said, I'd love to see him back home.
They'll have to have a tight leash on him because he'll have way too many influences if he did join the Knicks though.Comment

Here's the problem with Artest in Dallas.
1)You have to give up either Howard, Daniels or Harris in some package to get him. The Mavs aren't going to let go either one of these guy's because they are the future foundation and Artest isn't guranteed to be in Dallas more than a year.
2)Artest is wanting to be more involved on the offensive end. Dallas is more potent than Indiana and the offense runs through Dirk. If Artest isn't happy being Jermain's second fiddle what the heck do you think he would do with limited touches in Dallas and that's not just after Dirk we are talking Terry aswell.
3)Dallas biggest defiency isn't perimeter or inside defense anymore. It's dribble penatration defense by opposing PG's and Artest isn't going to improve that aspect. Essentially, both Howard and Daniels have been rock solid defending wing players and they both are just as adaquate as Artest on the offensive end and much cheaper. Together they are leathal in the starting lineup and very flexible.
4)Avery Johnson and Mark Cuban have stated all along that they plan on letting this current group develope chemistry and continuity together for the long haul. At one time Cuban would have played fantasy basketball with his team but now Avery is making more personell decisons and most important he stated all along when people questioned why Dallas made no moves this offseason that he truly believed all this team needed after their playoff run last year was more time together to gell. He absolutely loves his young gun's and remember team chemistry and continuity is very important to Avery and that's is the biggest reason why I don't think Artest is ging to surface in Dallas unless Indiana is looking for below market value for him. Which I sincerely doubt.
5)At 15-5 and this is the biggest reason why I don't bite on Artest. The Pacers have struggled with him and they were considered a legitimate title contender coming into the season. Why would you want Dallas to gamble all they have build up to this point on a guy that could break your entire franchise down in a year depending on his mood?NCAA FOOTBALL 14 ALUMNI LEGENDS CPU vs CPU DYNASTY THREAD

I think Artest can be had for cheap seeing how this thing has become so public and with his baggage. Potential keeps your mediocre, Artest is an amazing defender and good offensively. He is the best defender in the L. Last season Howard got torched by T-mac in the playoffs, Artest would help get us over the top. I agree, I would want to keep Howard, Daniels, and Harris, maybe we could convince them to take Dampier in this deal...on could only dream!!The Sports Preacher
