Next time they met, Larry was out recovering from his surgery, and in the starting position was Sasha Pavlovic. Granted Pavlovic did an admirable job filling in for Hughes for a stretch of games, but he doesn't quite fill Hughes shoes. Lebron has a terrible shooting night, because there is no second option with Z only playing 23 minutes due to foul trouble. Wizards pull away with the win 101-89. It was Lebron against everyone... no support at all for James.

Game 3, the still depleted lineup of the Cavaliers take on the healthy Wizards. Lebron has 25, but misses 11 FT's going 8/19 from the stripe. I guarantee you that this will not happen again. Pavlovic starts, but does not score. This is Flip Murray's debut against the Wizards. Comes in and scores a few points, but has not meshed with the team. If Lebron comes through at the line, then it will not be a 102-94 victory for the Wizards.

Last meeting, was pretty much a no contest. With the Cavs already guaranteed a 4 spot, Brown decided to rest his starters. With James only playing 29 minutes, and the rest of the starters only playing 26 minutes or under, we were still able to stay right with them. The score was 104-92... but only due to a late game surge by the Cavalier bench. It took 44 minutes from Gilbert Arenas, 39 minutes from Jamison, and 41 from Butler to put away our bench. Lebron only went to the line 1 time, and only drove to the hole 3-4 times this game. This was nothing more than a game to get the Cavalier reserves ready for the playoffs.

Now, I know this will be a good series, but I really don't see it going past 6 games. Barring any mental breakdown on the Cavaliers part, I see this going 6 games, and the Cavs advancing 4-2. The only time this year that the teams met (with any significance) the Cavs had their way with them. The last two months, the Cavaliers have gelled, and they are a formidable "team".

Lebron will not lose this first playoff series...
              I gotta disagree WTF.

The Cavaliers achilles heel will be their defense. I understand larry Hughes is back and he's a huge lift defensively but Cleveland is just flat out bad overall. Washington is terrible aswell defensively but I think if this series turns into a shootout which it most likely will then the Wizzards have more weapons that are playoff tested in close games that will help them pull it out. I think the Cavs will loose their advantage by dropping one of those 1st two home games.

I don't anyone contaning Arenas and Butler will be huge for Washington aswell.

The Cavaliers defense has improved tremendously over the past 2 months. Don't know if you've watched any of their games recently, but when Lebron and Larry and the guys are all playing together, they are a force.

Arenas is a baller, no doubt about that. But Lebron will match him point for point, and get 7-8 assists. The one thing that I am worried about is Jamison. Gooden, I honestly think can't stick him, so help defense is going to be the key. I'm almost positive that they can pull it out, but it's going to be a tough series. I just don't want guys discrediting the Cavs, because they haven't been healthy but one time when playing the Wizards. That time, they trounced them.

By no means do I think they will run all over them, but I do think that they will pull out the first round victory. Butler shouldn't be too big a factor in my eyes. Hughes will either check Arenas or Butler. One will get off, while the other is contained. But the key is going to be Jamison, and how the Cavaliers play help defense.

I see what you're saying but the first game was early in season and both teams had a bunch of new players. Wizards as a team have improved so much from that point due to having a healthy team most of the year while the Cavs barely had Hughes (not to mention he never really played like his old self either) and Marshall never really found his stroke. I really don't think that first game much anything at all and the rest of the games weren't really that important either....we'll really see which team is better after the first two games of this series IMO. I just think that the Wiz match up well against the Cavs and could beat them in 7 games. This series could go either way.

I think the key will be the big men. Illgauskas Vs. Haywood/Thomas specifically. If the Wiz contain Z (which they haven't really done a good job of the past few year) then the series should be at least close.

This Wash/Cavs series will prob. be one of the better ones in this 1st round. BTW, Lebron has a pimpin chin strap.

                      Cavs up 21-18.

Hehe, gotta love LeBron letting the ball roll up court, motioning for the defender (Jeffries or Jamison) to come get the ball, picks it up and passes to Donyell who nails the three

Very ugly first half for the Wizards....the "big 3" shot 8-33 and couldn't make any open shots. I think eventually they'll be fine....just a case of going cold in the first game. It's just sad when Jared Jeffries is the leading scorer....

p.s. how about Eric Snow? 8 points!
