      Well, yes and no.

Jerry West and his backcourt mate Gail Goodrich were both "combo guards" long before there were official term for them. They could both run the point and create shots for their teammates, yet they could also look for their own offense when the situation calls for it. From what I've read about them, when West paired with Goodrich on those '70s Laker teams, West was the primary guy running the offense and setting things up while Goodrich was mainly playing the off-guard role. So in this case West is considered the point guard of the team.

And if Karl didn't have his head up his arse and put Payton on Jordan FROM THE START, the Bulls would probably have had one less title and the Sonics one more.

It makes no sense to argue the past, but Payton locked Jordan down pretty well. It very well could have happened. But I forgot, Jordan actually had wings and flew around the court too

I will take Payton over Nash. Payton is a FAR superrior defender over Nash than Nash is an "unslefish make your players better" type PG over Payton. Nash can be shut down as far as scoring goes by a good defesnive player, thus hes got no choice but to bring his "unselfish pass the rock" game to the court..as far as Nash being a defender...Nash's etire game is offensive, be it him leading his team in points one night or assists the other night. Put any scoring PG in the league on him and they will drop 25-30 on him. Gilbert Arenas who is originally a PG..playing Nash? LOL. Nash gets 10 assits = 20 points.. Gilbert drops 35 on him...and probably doesnt fall too far behind that night in assists. Nash is great dont get me wrong but the league is promoting him now because he has stepped his game up into the ranks of the top 5-10 players in the NBA and his image is likeable and squeaky clean. Gotta milk the golden boy as much as you can while you can NBA.

Nash is so overated, which is why he won the MVP again when Kobe or Lebron deserved it more. This list is on the heels of Nash winning the MVP so ESPN is on his jock. Nash should be #10 AT BEST.

I'd put Stockton above Isiah for sure too, and Kidd above Frazier maybe.
