Re: Biggest underachiever in the NBA?

I Also gotta go with Darius Miles, Eddie Curry is a close 2nd though...I thought he'd have been tearing up the league by now and like someone else said have atleast a cpl All-Star games under his belt...There are thouse guys who just have 1-2 good years & there are those guys who some night look great, next nite they look like they couldn't beat the cast from "White Men Can't Jump"....Example would be Samuel Dalembert I figured he would've been better now than he Is

Dirk Nowitski right about now. Anytime you're a 7 footer and you let 6-5 Cuttino Mobley lock you down....I know they doubled you everytime you got the ball but guys like Duncan make their move before the double team gets there. Dirk did it one time in the loss to the Clipper last nite.

Seeing Eddy Curry play every game...I have to go with him.

But the biggest underachiever ever is hands down Eddie Robinson. Bulls fans know what I'm talking about.

            That's debatable.

Re: Biggest underachiever in the NBA?

Robinson was a spark off the bench, I remember back in the old Hornets days we had Baron Davis, then Ricky Davis and Eddie Robinson off the bench...they were a damn fun team to watch, especially that year in the playoffs where they swept the Heat and beat them by an average of like 25 points a game. That was probably the worst I've seen any team get ran in the playoffs.

As for as biggest underachiever I'll say Eddy Curry b/c of his physical attributes, what the hell is his problem?? He should be beasting the league. Darius Miles comes in a close 2nd, then Tim Thomas.

I still think Miles is a closer physical comparison to KG, and is the biggest waste/misuse of talent that comes to mind.

                Agreed 100%.

Kareem hit Bensen with an overhand right to the head on opening night and Benson was never the same. I think he was the 1st pick in the draft.
Yep and he (Bensen) was coincidentally the last white guy to go number one in the draft.

At present time, I gotta go with Tim Thomas. I remember not too long ago people were comparing him to Kobe Bryant as great young players. Who does he play for now btw?

yeah that was the hornets team that all of them wore the white headbands. nothing like seeing elden campbell rock a headband. then everyone at the games started wearing them too

What about Lamar Odom? Sure, he's a really good player right now in the league, but this guy has the pure talent to be a hall-of-fame type player.

Odom's athletic, but nothing freakish. His speed, hops, and range are all good not great. Not in the same league as Miles. I think he has actually done a pretty good job of developing his game since he decided to care more about ball than weed.

I've always thought of Odom as one of the few players (along with Bryant, Garnett, Marion, James, and a couple others) that are so extraordinarily gifted in all aspects of the game, that anything less than top-tier performance is dissapointing.

Dunleavy's just not good, I don't really see him as being such an underachiever. Even at Duke he got sonned every time he was facing NBA talent.

I think dirk is overrated...but he is still a very good player. The point you brought up about cuttino got me thinking about something else though, that dirk's post up skills absolutely suck. He couldn't even post up nate robison last year!!! Nate pushed him out to the 3 point line and made him take a fadeaway, which is completely absurb. I remember they should it on sports center all week.
