Re: The transformation of Kobe Bryant

I always thought if Kobe changed, he could be a truly great basketball player. His attitude was arrogant and rubbed people the wrong way, he shot too much, forced a lot of plays and didn't really play too great of defense.

I don't know if he's changing a whole lot, but he's headed in the right direction. It's good to see him using his teammates more, especially Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum. I think the Lakers have a shot at knocking off some powerhouses in the playoffs if the team continues to improve.

I don't simply because their defense is a problem.

I enjoy watching him play, and him changing up a bit should help his image more than any PR crap they can dig up.

Then again, this guy has been in the NBA about 12 years. Should we go through heaps of praise because he just came to the conclusion that basketball is a team game?

I don't know who's heaping praise.. but I don't think anybody should "praise" him until he does something in the playoffs. It is very obvious though, that he's finally changing his ways.
        Edit: Misread your post Dre.

          ???

Im not blaming their lack of defense on anyone. I said they'll have issues in the playoffs because of the defense problem.

He is changing his ways, but lots of players change, you just dont see articles plastered on the front page of FOTW.com

I know Dre, my bad I misread your quote.. I edited my post.

But yeah I TOTALLY agree.. defense is their problem and they won't get far unless they learn to rebound and defend the pick and roll.

Man that pick and roll weakness has always been there.

I think they live and die with that. I don't think Phil can solve it without Johnny Bach.

Who doesn't want to be like Michael Jordan? He was the best player in the NBA. I don't think Kobe is there and I honestly don't think he will ever get there but why bash a guy for trying. Hell I want to be like Roger Federer. Does that make me bad?
Just wait till Arsenal moves into Emirates Stadium.

I got ya back on that, mizzta. I'm hatin' right with ya. Been saying the same thing for years now, and about how this has brought down the League.

Exactly what i was thinking. It took this ******* 12 years to realize he can't beat a team by himself? It's so sad when you receive praise for doing nothing more than what you are supposed to be doing. Like chris rock said... "I'm a good dad because i take care of my kids." Your supposed to *******!

Last year kobe shot the ball over 2000 times and nobody else took 1000 shots.

I guess if you are enamored with kobe's facilitating skills, steve nash must give you one of those painful viagra like hard ons

Bull. I can tell you right now that AI(took around just as many, if not more shots), LeBron James, Dwayne Wade, Paul Pierce, and Gilbert Arenas ALL took about 1400-1800 shots.

The Lakers wouldn't have done much last year w/o Kobe taking all those shots. He didn't have many options last year and guys weren't used to the offense. Kobe had to take on teams by himself cuz last year his teammates weren't good enough.
