Re: As Im watching KG tonight

I saw KG setting high screens and thinking what is he doing, and why is he allowing guards to deny him the ball 1 on 1.
If the play is call for him to set high screens which is 90 percent of there plays why shouldn't do so? On the play where you said a Guard was deny 1 on 1 there was backside help and the guard was fronting..

If Funny people can pick all the bad things when KG and Minnesota lose but nothing when they win IE other that night against the Pacers when KG took over the game in 4th quater

The thing that separates the good from great players is performance in the clutch. In a close game the great players almost always will take the shot or create for a teammate. I watched the final quarter last night and KG hardly even touched the ball. He looked like he was bored and just going through the motions. He watched on as his teammates just continued to jack up shots. Could you imagine if that was a star player on almost any other team in the league? They would want the ball in that situation and demand it. With that said KG is a good player but to be great he has to perform in the clutch and he just doesn't do that enough.

I'd like to say I like KG, but he is far more consistent on not looking for the ball in clutch time than he is. More often than not, he's doing exactly as I described.

I'm not trying to slam him because I'm a Garnett fan but I cannot just say I didn't see what I saw. There have been many articles on this very thing happening for years now.

Re: As Im watching KG tonight

He hit a 3 in crunch time to keep the game close.

Anyways, if Ricky Davis or Mike James have a hot hand, they will shoot the ball regardless of what KG does or says. He isn't the coach and I think it's indicative of how poorly McHale has built this team.

He has never really bought in guys who are willing to defer to KG and/or set him up. KG is really no different than any other post player at this stage of the game. He needs to be fed, set up but when the D clamps on him, the other guys need hit shots.

Problem is he has played without a true PG or really solid perimeter player for 85% of his career. He's played with a bunch of chuckers, combo guards, and one dimensional players.

I always thought AI should've ended up in Minny.

I think people are going way overboard to the point of trashing KG. He should've been out of Minnesota a while ago.

I thought AI should've went there too.

I'm not trashing him and calling him overrated. IMO he doesn't need a sidekick. He is the sidekick.

Is KG a sidekick? Hmm. I can agree with that. Especially now.

And seriously, who has Minnesota brought in make them a legit title contender? Not asking you, DRE. It's just an observation on my part.

Of course. Their management has been beyond awful. It's one of those down sides to treating the league just as a business now.

Re: As Im watching KG tonight

To the people who say KG doesnt care about winning sound dumb!!! Some of the things u guys say just kill me I hear all u guys say the complete opposite thing about Kobe in one thread and then say this about KG makes no sense. And I watched the game he took just as many shots as he should have and plus Ricky had a hot hand last night and hes their 2nd best player so he should have let him see how much he could of scored.
I kno so much about the NBA I should work 4 ESPN!!!!

You called it perfect, he's always been a Scottie Pippen, a great player, but he needs someone better than him on the team to show his true talent. He needs to be an option B.
